I manage to argue within the company's own internal logic and point out the flaws, shortcomings and discrepancies between "official company policy" and "everyday company reality".

@  Nevermore : (19 October 2019 - 04:40 AM)

Many of my coworkers are scared to even talk to managers. I often discuss company matters with them I disagree with, and it isn't a rare occurrence that they say "yeah, you're right..."

@  Nevermore : (19 October 2019 - 04:38 AM)

I know how to watch my tone, and I prefer to keep things straightforward and factual, never to attack the person, always the problem itself.

@  Nevermore : (19 October 2019 - 04:37 AM)

The good thing for me is ever since a minor hiccup many years ago when I was still non-permanent, I've always managed to along just fine with my various superiors (I've been through over a dozen already). And that's despite my outspokenness, my blunt honesty and my oftentimes harsh criticism.

Amazon in the US has pretty good benefits, though, and even the temp workers had forty hours a week to start with. Even with minimum wage, that's pretty good pay.

@  Nevermore : (18 October 2019 - 01:20 AM)

Oh, the turnover rates are high here as well.

@  TM2-Megatron : (17 October 2019 - 09:45 PM)

Amazon.com and .ca, on the other hand, can be pretty terrible. I know from your squawkbox posts that you guys have your issues with Amazon over there, although you're lucky to have stronger government regulations and a union there. I gather the warehouse workers in the USA and Canada have it pretty crappy, with very high turnover, close to minimum wage pay, and no unions

@  TM2-Megatron : (17 October 2019 - 09:38 PM)

Amazon.de doesn't really have the same issue. I've ordered from them (and UK, FR, IT and JP) several times, and their packaging is much better

@  Nevermore : (17 October 2019 - 05:22 PM)

I'm not sure how it works on the customer's end. As packers, we sometimes have items that are flagged as "overwrap", which means we absolutely have to put them into a box even if they're already in pretty sturdy manufacturer packaging.

@  TM2-Megatron : (17 October 2019 - 03:05 PM)

Yeah, I really do wish amazon had an option to upgrade packaging for an extra buck or something. I hate their bubble mailers

@  Benbot : (17 October 2019 - 07:17 AM)

That's how it works. I just hope my order from Amazon doesn't arrive crushed because they idiotically stuffed it in an envelope.

@  Telly : (16 October 2019 - 10:48 PM)

my walmart is acting true to form. as soon as mirage arrives from amazon, my walmart gets his entire wave in after months of having wave 1 clogging the pegs....

@  Telly : (14 October 2019 - 09:09 PM)

i didnt find that at any of the ones around here, so i had to settle for seasons 1 and 2 of duckman for $3

@  Steevy Maximus : (14 October 2019 - 07:45 PM)

Heck, I got the season 2/3 set for $3 (?) from a Dollar General discount bin :p

@  TM2-Megatron : (14 October 2019 - 07:29 PM)

The series is pretty cheap on DVD, too, which at least will work internet or no. The complete series set seems to be OOP, but there's a Season 1 set as well as a combined 2 & 3 set.

so the final season starts this friday.

i thought i would start this thread, as the semi-official BSG thread for the rest of the show.

so far, we have the return of Kara, Baltar being saved and made into a religious figure, and the reveal of the Three of the final five. THE CHIEF IS NOT ONE OF THEM. i dont care what the music hints at, there has to be some other reason. Anders i could see, as well as Roslins new aide, and MAYBE tigh, but never the chief. NEVER.

predictions, comments, curses... lets hear 'em.

Four of the final five, you mean? The Chief is DEFINITELY a Cylon. Also, maybe put SPOILER on this so people who haven't seen season two's ending don't get upset.

Anyway, we know Baltar's not the last one, so it's gonna be one of the Adamas. PERIOD.

That reveal was actually quite disappointing. It is depressing that they had to turn to a Russo-esque "ultimate swerve" to keep our interest.

the reveal sucked, yes.

the final Cylon is going to be someone none of us are going to expect. it would be awesome if it was Zarek, and it turned out the new show took place years after the first one. "this has all happened before, it will happen again" anyone?

I doubt it could be one of the Adamas because Cylons have implanted memories of a human childhood and I doubt they could convince family members that a robot was their sibling/parent/child.
And the chief's without a doubt a cylon imo.
I need to rewatch that finale, was unsure how I felt about the reveal at the time.
This Friday though? Can't wait!

IMO, the 'Final 5" are boxed AI's which have inhabited the people we saw. It doesn't make sense for Tyrol, as that would mean his baby was a messiah and that he and boomer banging back in season one was pointless. leoben wouldn't let anyone near his Kara if he could help it, so Anders is not likely a real cylon. Tigh, flat out can;t be, as he was alive and active long before the technology was available, and thus far no Cylons have "replaced" "real" people. Tori, yea she can be one.

I say the 5 AIs exist as a "ghost in the human machine" idea, moving from person to person to manipulate them against the rest of the Cylons.

The fact that who the final five were hadn't been planned from the beginning, and that their identities were only something RDM and co. came up with while plotting out season 3, really cheapens it for me. The reveal was too gimmicky and sensationalist, and doesn't really make much sense. I think that was the shark-jump of this show. Honestly, between that and the absolutely horrendous airing delays, i'm not really that hopeful about this season. I'll still watch it, hoping i'm wrong though.

My theory is that the fifth Cylon is......Commander Adama's wife.
That makes Lee (and Zack) hybrids, gives us some nice conflict drama about Bill having been involved with a Cylon, and doesn't really take anyone else out of play. (which I think is a problem with what they've done, took too many main characters out of play as cylons)
Doesn't explain kara though.

Remember, the D'Anna cylon (Lucy Lawless) met the final cylon (presumably #1) in one of the story arcs in last season, and recognized it (Saying something like "Forgive me, I had no idea") - My guess is that the final cylon is someone we know, that she's had an obvious, on-screen interaction with. Who that is, I don't know. Since I havent seen the series in awhile, I don't remember this, but did she have any on-screen tiffs or fights with someone (aside from the other cylons) ?

That's my thinking too. The way the other Cylons talk about them, they're more advanced. The existing Cylon models can only download to their model shell. A Six does not download to a Sharon or vice versa. A logical step above that would be to be able to download to anything with the capacity to hold them.

This kind of feeds into my theory about what happened to Six and Baltar during the nuclear explosion. Radiation alters their ability to function and download, which was also suggested in the original premiere. Six's download was altered by the radioactive blast, which accidentally passed through Baltar and inadvertently "swapped" those parts of consciousness which could be considered binary, which is why each of them has their own pooka of the other. And is also why the final five could hide in *anyone*, ie: the formats are compatible. icon-hotrod.gif

There are a myriad of #6's and such, each similar in personality, but also each suprisingly unique as we've discovered. I have a feeling the final five are single entities. There's one of each of them, no more. It might be why the Cylons made no more of them and fear them. They have none of the boundaries that the existing Cylons do.

Was it explicitly stated that they are Cylons? I thought they just reached that conclusion because they could hear the music in their heads.

She could have also been apologizing to Tigh, since the Cylons ripped his eye out.

Actually, you don't see anything about Tigh's back story until after the Cylon War when he first meets an aged Adama in a bar. He says he was a Viper pilot, but you don't know that for sure. Also, during the episode 33, Tigh shows less signs of Fatigue that Adama similar to how Sharon did. Not exactly what they had in mind, but it does support the theory that Tigh is a Cylon. His hatred for Cylons could also be part of his programming, as the final five seemed to be at conflict with the others.

They said that all five are definitely Cylons, so now it's just who is the sixth? I am betting that it is Baltar's Lawyer and he is this generation's Count Iblis.

I think it was dumb that Tyrol is a Cylon but I'm waiting to see where they go with that story.

Anyone here seen the "last Supper" pic? It's a teaser for the new series and they accidentally let slip that no one in the pic who isn't already known to be a Cylon will be the final Cylon. If that's true, then it's officially NOT Roslin, Lee, Starbuck, Admiral Adama, or Baltar.

I hope it's either Zarak or Zack, myself.
