'save the cheerleader' then in season 3 he tears her skull open, scans her power and she simply heals. They didn't think any of it through.

@  Shockwave 75 : (17 June 2021 - 07:04 PM)

Well, you know Hollywood; if something's popular, run it into the ground!

@  Cybersnark : (17 June 2021 - 04:40 PM)

And then there was the Writers' Strike, which isn't the show's fault.

@  Cybersnark : (17 June 2021 - 04:40 PM)

Yeah, Sylar should've been, if not killed off, at least left to rest.

@  Nevermore : (17 June 2021 - 03:43 PM)

It never truly recovered from that.

@  Nevermore : (17 June 2021 - 03:43 PM)

I wish they would do something like that here: but then it would become obvious in which provinces you're getting gouged.

Here in Germany, the price you see is the price you pay, tax included.

Its Bass X0. I named myself after my three favourite Mega Man characters - Bass, X and Zero. I did consider going with Vile Bass X0, but that would have been going too far.

I broke out some bourbon and actually finished my TF instruction sheet project. Two binders, all my instructions sheets, everything squared away. I still need to kinda set it into chronological order, and I'll need more plastic sheets for any upcoming transformers (four from BBTS yet to arrive, and airazor waiting patiently on my desk.), but... yeah. Awesome. Only took little over a year to actually pull off.

So... hurray for depression.

I've been working as a computer programmer for the past 23 years (ouch), but never got beyond an Associate degree in Computer Science.  The program kind of stunk, they were still teaching DOS programming when the rest of world had moved on to Windows.  Everything I now know and use is self-taught.  I went and looked up my old school recently.  Apparently it got bought out by another college at some point, which itself got bought out later by another, and then the whole thing got shut down by the DoE.  Is my degree still any good?  Was it ever?  I decided to make both of those questions irrelevant.  I've now applied to go back to college and pick up my Bachelors degree.  I'm hoping to start in May or June, or however soon the 2021-2022 FAFSA makes me eligible for assistance.

I tried to do this once before, but kept telling myself that it didn't matter this far in the game.  I'm trying hard to get out of that defeatist mindset, and I think this is a good start.  And maybe I'll get more money out of work for it ;)

I got some exercise in the yard today. I fixed the cinderblock planter, and got it ready for another layer, dug out most of the old garden (which will be moved to the cinderblock one as soon as the second layer is cemented into place.) and filled in most of the holes laika dug over the years.

Bit of a follow up: I start my Bachelor of Science - Software Development program through WGU on June 1st!  And I think there's a good chance my employer will pay for it :)

My job for today canceled at the last second, and since I was all set for heavy labour I decided to put it into the garden. There's a little cinderblock wall which we're going to double the height of (one row of bricks to two.) and then cement together.

So, this morning I roved out in search of materials. I needed sand and gravel. Got both. In the process of shlepping that stuff from the car to the yard: the wheel barrow I was using (and was going to use to make the cement in.) bottomed out. No longer water tight. Shit. Immediately get back into the car and hit up two stores searching for a barrow. Did you know you have to assemble them yourself? I did not. So add "lego with yard tools" to the schedule.

So, I was supposed to be mixing cement at 10.30 am, roughly. Instead, It's half noon and I'm watching a hugging video on how to assemble a wheelbarrow because the instructions hugging suck. But I get it. And it's pretty solid too.

Throw myself at the cement right away, knock out two batches and manage to get halfway through the garden wall before I run out of material.

All in all, not bad, pretty proud of myself. Gonna get some more cement and fixings and do the other half early next week. Maybe monday. It'll be quick and easy since I don't need to run around to get more tools this time.

Got my food garden mostly done. 4 big tomato plants, 1 cherry tomato, 6 bell peppers, 6 yellow beans, 2 eggplants, one regular cucumber, one pickling cucumber, and a blueberry bush for the hell of it. I would've been fine with a smaller amount of bell peppers and beans, but I couldn't find them at the depot store so I ended up going to a farm and they only had packs of 6...

All I need is more support cages and to lay out some mulch. I should probably pull out the remaining weeds/grass too. If everything takes, it's going to be a very busy garden this year. :D

We also have an apple and a pear tree, but haven't been able to harvest much off them that wasn't bug infested.

It decided not to rain today, so I pounded out the last two rounds of concrete. I wound up doing it so fast that either I'm better than I thought, or I hugged something up.

Either way: feel good. Jobs done and hand mixing mud is a great upper body work out.

My 15-year-old and 17-year-old daughters are still doing remote learning. They love it. They can sit on our back porch with their laptops, and the dog loves having them home.

Thing is, the family dog is 13 years old, and dealing with some stomach issues. At one point, my youngest daughter smells something. She said to my other daughter, "I think the dog just sharted."

Her mic was live. Her entire math class started laughing.

And everybody's glad this is the last week of school.

Playing fortnite with my nephew: we scored a victory royal in duos by shooting up a port-a-potty.

Okay, so maybe the game is growing on me a little, cause that was pretty funny.
