is there enough plastic sticking out to yank it out with pliers?

@  tigerhawk : (21 May 2021 - 01:05 PM)

Oh great my Legends Dai Atlas fell and the gun snapped in two, the handle is stuck in the port on top of the vehicle mode.

Has it occurred to no one that the most logical solution for the vintage line is classic repaints of Kingdom figures? That's what Hasbro did for GI Joe. And also, the S1 Rattrap mold is long gone.

They didn't do that for Transformers when they put out a line named "Vintage G1".

I think the concept of being educated and being able to educate is something that more people need more of in their lives.

No, we don't all know everything but we should spread and share that what we do know.

If I'm consistently misspelling a word, I would want and expect people to correct me as should I imagine all decent people who know the value of good literacy.

Its just arrogant laziness to know you're spelling a word incorrectly and not correct yourself or ignore the advice when people do tell you how to spell a word correctly.

Nonetheless that's how they're officially labeled and marketed and it is different.

They are claiming only to be Retro-styled toys not the actual Vintage toys Walmart has labeled as "Vintage" for TFs so far.

-ZacWilliam, that they're "Retro" because of the box style and decos is kinda obvious.

Besides, doing a whole second line of retail figures based on the Beast Wars season 1 designs would be Hasbro directly competing with itself against the Kingdom toys that are supposed to represent those same characters in those very same body forms.

(The Netflix line is only doing Cheetor, Optimus, and Rattrap, not every season 1 character.)

Conversely, the Transmetals are different enough to avoid that redundancy.

I wouldn't expect the Kingdom figures to be repackaged while the Kingdom figures are still on the shelf.  The Headmasters showed up after the TR figures were long gone.

The Netflix figures were a last-ditch attempt by Hasbro to have some Siege toys on the shelves when the Siege part of the WFCT cartoon came out (not wanting a repeat of the CW cartoon starting when the CW toyline was ending), which was at a point when the actual Siege line was supposed to be ending and replaced with Earthrise.

But, many proper Siege toys from early in the line were still on the shelves at that time because they had become massive shelfwarmers, something Hasbro had no control over and didn't foresee happening. They put the Netflix line out because they thought the cartoon wouldn't be out in time to advertise the proper Siege toys, not knowing that a lot of their existing stock that they thought would be gone by that point would still be lingering around as unsold product.

In other words, the Netflix Siege toys were supposed to be out when the normal Siege toys were already gone. But because that didn't happen thanks to the shelfwarming, the ensuing overlap of the two was unintentional.

A couple small updates

Studio Series may be expanding to include core class and commander Class.

Motormaster's size class is still undecided. Apparently commander Class is being considered for the Torso.

If they are continuing SS86, I'm not sure who would justify a commander class other than a dinobot 2 pack of some sort maybe. Core class maybe a transforming Wheelie, or exosuit humans? Cassettes maybe? I guess Ultra Magnus could maybe be pushed as a commander, but given his upcoming Kingdom release I don't see him being a big enough deal to get a new mold at the commander point so soon.
I finally got rid of that big white box.

Commander Class Revenge/Galvatron's ship would be wild, especially if they make Core class versions of the cast. I also wouldn't mind a Commander Class Magnus if that's what it takes to get the Full Geewun redo in both modes with a transforming cab.

But what I'd really like is for them to hold on to those classes for main Studio Series. Core class, I'd like to see Mohawk; hell, maybe they could upsize each Arcee bike a bit to make them less flimsy. Maybe a Laserbeak that turns into a copier, heh. Commander class Driller with Core class Shockwave? Commander class Scorn? Dragonstorm? Infernocus? Devcon? Idunno.

Commander Class is shaping up to really mean "too pricey for Leader", as opposed to "really big", and it's good to see it hit a more consistent stride in that sense. It also makes sense that they'd limit it to one combiner a year if that's where this is going; I don't mind, as it would be rough to try to keep up otherwise. Likely a reasonably complex 'bot with essentially three modes; would probably also come with combiner parts like hands and feet and chestplates etc. (I wonder if they'd still try to integrate them into the main figure as with their Prime Wars ones, or go full-on Perfect Effect style since they've really embraced partsforming). Doing this would probably also allow the budget for the Deluxes to go right into the main figure itself (if they also redo them, which they probably will) without also needing to spend on pack-in handfootguns.

Yeah ships like the Autobot Shuttle, Quintesson ship, Lithone ship, Junkion cruiser, or Galvatrons ship are about all I can see with Commander Class for the 86 film.

If they havnt even decided whether these size classes will exist yet these toys have to be somewhere around two to three years away.

It's hard to imagine Studio Series 86 lasting that long. There aren't that many relevant characters in the film.

-ZacWilliam, heck the majority are done already.
