Not knowing what toys were taken and the price range. Depending on the content of the toys, how easy to get them from local stores. Like if they were Earthrise transformers for example. Plus their overall market value. If you have unique toys that Walmart/target wouldn't normally carry. I would try contact non chain local toy stores. Mom and Pop/independent ones. Tell them your a toy collector and online order of toys was stolen. Where if someone would try to sell this exact group of toys. To be cautious since it may be the person who stole from me. Where they may try to sell you those toys and possible steal other toys when their back is turn.
It was about $150 of Earthrise and Studio Series figures. I contacted my local comic shop last night, since they're less than a mile away and the first place I'd expect the thief to try to pass the figures off to. They got back to me today and told me that someone had called them and tried to sell the exact same set of figures that were stolen. They tried to get more detail from the guy but it seems like he got suspicious and hung up. Oh well, I hope it embarrassed him at least.
I might have phrased it more delicately but I suspect that's ultimately true - BBTS shipped it, FedEx delivered it, by the point at which it was stolen every other party had successfully completed their obligation to the process and it had effectively passed into your responsibility, so I assume that probably you won't get any joy from anyone. I hope there's a happier ending than that but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Yeah, I'm not expecting either BBTS or FedEx to do anything. Like The Predaking said, though, FedEx did leave the package out in the open (and didn't ring my doorbell or anything when they dropped it off. I was home all day), so I don't think it would be unreasonable for them to reimburse me. But again, not counting on it. Haven't heard anything back from BBTS yet, and like I said in the OP apparently they're going to have to be the ones to submit the claim to FedEx.
