I got Studio Series 39 Cogman yesterday and woke up to find he'd decapitated my titans returns figures.

@  Maximus Ambus : (04 July 2020 - 01:47 PM)

So the Emperor in episodes 1 through 6 was a clone?

@  -LittleAutob... : (30 June 2020 - 05:55 PM)

x-x when in vehicle mode we can travel much F A R T H E R-

@  wonko the sane? : (30 June 2020 - 05:52 PM)

Because despite the fact that we can travel around the world in the time it takes to get a good nights sleep and a couple of meals: people rarely wander more than 25 miles away from home for the duration of their lives.

@  Otaku : (30 June 2020 - 05:49 PM)

I don't know how many days that trip takes - especially while sightseeing - but explaining they're 3936 kilometers (2445 miles) apart gives an idea, paradoxically because it is too large to easily picture.

@  Otaku : (30 June 2020 - 05:44 PM)

Aye.  When I catch lay people discussing miles and not how long the trip takes, it is in an attempt to stress how far away something is... like NYC to LA.

@  ▲ndrusi : (30 June 2020 - 01:20 PM)

But I can imagine 45 *minutes* easily.

@  ▲ndrusi : (30 June 2020 - 01:20 PM)

I can imagine a mile, it's a distance I've run. I can't really imagine 45 miles.

@  ▲ndrusi : (30 June 2020 - 01:19 PM)

I think there's also an element of the thing where things that are much bigger than us all blur together.

@  Otaku : (30 June 2020 - 11:49 AM)

If you're not, then you're more concerned with how long it takes.  Actual distance doesn't tell you that very well.  Besides traffic and road conditions, you'll need to know what kind of driving (city/interstate/rural/etc.).

@  Otaku : (30 June 2020 - 11:47 AM)

Distance matters if you're being paid by the mile.

@  TM2-Megatron : (30 June 2020 - 11:44 AM)

Canadians are the same way, for the most part. If you're driving somewhere far, especially, it helps you plan out the day more than a distance in KM would.

@  Otaku : (30 June 2020 - 11:42 AM)

We use the time it takes to get someplace because that is what is relevant to us.

@  TheMightyMol... : (30 June 2020 - 10:55 AM)

Because even we can't figure out miles half the time.

@  Paladin : (30 June 2020 - 09:54 AM)

it's a big country with a lot of empty space. between our citizens' ears.

@  Bass X0 : (30 June 2020 - 09:52 AM)

Why do most Americans measure distance by hours of driving?

@  TM2-Megatron : (29 June 2020 - 07:26 PM)

And as a result the world's lone blu-ray release of the film, an Australian disc that came out 7 years ago, now goes for hundreds of dollars on eBay. Thanks Disney.

@  TM2-Megatron : (29 June 2020 - 06:21 PM)

Well, they censored Daryl Hannah's butt in Splash :rolleyes

@  Paladin : (29 June 2020 - 05:43 PM)

maybe New Mutants is too bad even for D+.

@  Steevy Maximus : (29 June 2020 - 05:00 PM)

X-Men films are coming to Disney+ next month. But will they censor Hugh Jackman's butt?

@  -LittleAutob... : (29 June 2020 - 12:44 PM)

Pft.

@  TheMightyMol... : (29 June 2020 - 11:59 AM)

Behold! Night Strike Galvatron!

@  Bass X0 : (29 June 2020 - 09:53 AM)

It's been a while, but i figured we've either had lotsa time to listen to stuff we love, or find new bands...so lets share, guys and gals and all points in-between...IT'S MUSIC TIME, BABY~!

Please post a video, or just an audio track, or 2 or 100, of your most favorite bands of all time or you're just recently finding and loving...it aint JUST Music Time, Baby!...its SHARE DAT MUSIC TIME, BABIES! =]

First thing i wanna do is promote my most favorite band in the world (included is a pic of me wearing the first mask they dropped around a month ago...i trust them with my life, thats how much i love them)...my 63yr old MOM loves them, too...mostly because on car rides back in 2015 i started by making her listen to the first EP the dropped, that i got a copy of when i saw them on their first tour (both times ive seen them play live has been them w/ HOLLYWOOD UNDEAD, another band i super freakin' love...but anyways...)...and much like myself, shes fallen in love with the positive tone, and mostly positive spin they put on things.

I will always love the first line-up of the band, but this 2nd version, with Danny on vocals and Matt (formerly of Trivium) on drums is really something special. The energy they exude with each track is simply amazing. They have just been getting better and better since they dropped their 2nd album back in late spring 2018. They have also, like a lot of bands, been dropping really great Cover tracks during the quarantine (for instance they did Evanescence' "Bring me to life" as well as doing Linkin Parks (probably their biggest influence) "Faint", they also do some LP tracks live, i just cant think of them right now)...these covers are worth the time to seek out, theyre all on youtube.

I'm pretty sure these are mostly family friendly, but if there is a prob, please delete =]

And without further adieu, Here is the 2nd song thats dropped from the new album named "PANIC" coming out on August 28th, here is "What I Get" by FROM ASHES TO NEW:

Also, heres a fun little parody they did named "Wake Me Up When 2020 Ends":

And here is the first single they released from the new album, its namesake: "PANIC"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0xn-M4T3AQ

Cherry on top? a new version of one of my most favorite tracks, "EVERY SECOND" from their first album, with Danny on vocals and this time adding in their label mate Eva Under Fire...and the track definitely benefits from having her on it =]

Ok that video for 2020 was brilliant. :D
I think most of the stuff I like is stuff most people are already familiar with. I'll have to think about any lesser known songs/groups.

I've been listening to this band's output more than is probably healthy lately.

Also a requisite offering. (Only viewable from YouTube itself) It'll put hair on your chest.

Octane tends to play only new Ozzy and...Tool just doesn't get played unless the DJ needs an extra long break.  Seriously, Tool just makes songs that are too damn long.  Glad they're regulated to Turbo these days.

Ironbite-wish they took Korn with 'em.

Alestorm.

Given lyrical content and imagery in their songs and videos, I won’t post anything direct. Just search them out on the Tube of You. Make sure to have closed captions/subtitles on for their newest videos as they add additional jokes there.

Hmm, Guess I'll post some of my favorite metal bands... most fo them I don't think are that problematic at all.

Dragony actually did songs about MOTU, Bloodborne, Evangelion, Wheel of Time, and a bunch of other nerdy stuff... kind of like a less well known Blind Guardian.  Their last album even had their own cover of The Touch as a CD exclusive.

Beast in Black is very based off the Berserk anime from what I understand, but it's very 80s, adn their singer has a hell of a range

Brothers of Metal is an 8(!)-person band that focuses on Norse myths and stories. Linking jsut a song instead of their actual videos because while they're great, they tend to not always be family-friendly as they go hard into the viking theme.

Twilight Force is a very fantasy metal group. They changed vocalists after their second album and I'm still not 100% on the new vocalist. We'll see once the next album comes out with the new guy. This song is from their second album though with their original vocalist.

I think I'll stop there and see what else people post before I add anymore, as most of the other ones may be more well known, such as Stratovarious, Blind Guardian, and Gloryhammer.

Ahhh Yuve Yuve Yu.  I really really love that song....without Danny.  Don't get me wrong, I love From Ashes to New but holy hell Danny, it's not a song about oppression or whatever.  It's a song about something strange going on in Mongolia and the singer commenting on that fact.  Hell, Yuve Yuve Yu even translates to "Something Strange".  But for Danny, it's some sort of weird song about throwing off the shackles of your oppression or something equally "woke" like that.

I like Wolf Totem with Jacobi Shaddix better because he doesn't try to make the song about "wokeness".  He's just happy to be guesting on a super bad ass song with some super badass people.

Ironbite-Lzzy Hale was the perfect choice for Song of Woman.

First, to set the tone for the rest of this post:  Gloryhammer

Each of their albums tells a story, though IMO it only gets good with the second one, Space 1992 when an evil wizard frozen 1000 years ago is revived on the moon of Titan after the Space Kngihts of Crail are defeated, and seeks a crystal from the Goblin King of the Darkstorm Galaxy to summon a Great Old One and set the universe on fire, opposed by the 13th ruler of the Kingdom of Fife, his laser-powered enchanted hammer, and allies such as the ruler of California, the Hollywood Hootsman. In the far-off year of 1992.  And it gets better. (Did I mention they have 20 albums worth of story planned out?)

Victorious is one I just need to mention in passing.  They're kind of the anime version of Gloryhammer, though I don't think they've quite hit their stride yet.  And though I'm not linking it here, definitely go listen to "Legend of the Power Saurus" though I won't say why - you'll see when you hit the right moment in their song.

Grailknights is another group along the lines of these two, specializing in "Saturday Morning Metal."  I've not seen too much of their stuff, but there's been at least a few songs of theirs I enjoyed.  Of course, this track here as the advantage of having Joakim from Saboton guest-starring in it.  He seems to do that with a lot of groups.

To wrap this up, I'll mention Graveshadow.  I actually found them through Helion Prime, as their vocalist was the main singer for their first album. She has an excellent voice for metal, and should I mention they actually did a full trilogy of songs about Thrall and the rise of his Horde on their 2018 album?  There's also this:

I know what it is, as a coworker of mine would say” white people music” with lots of guitar solos, man did that guy hate classic rock. This stuff is a little more epic, but gets old after a whille.
