The biggest difference in the bridge is that it used to be bright and warm and now it is dark and cold. I don't love that. At the same time, you can still remember that there is a time gap. Pike maybe likes it dark and Kirk will have it lit more when he takes command. When you are a captain in UESPA and spending your day in the room, I expect that you could have some say on that.
I like the uniforms fine and I totally forgive them for the ship, but I don't understand what the draw is to do this show if you are not wanting to revisit what the show was. I think I recall a huge transporter room on the DIS Enterprise. To me that is a mistake. It pulls me out. We are not in the same place that we used to be in. If they show us an engineering with a big tall standing warp core, it is the same thing again. I just don't know what the point is if you want to retcon the entire visual setting. There are thousands of ships in Starfleet history. It can be set on any ship in any time. Even if you feel it needs to be Enterprise, you can put it on Enterprise B or C and not have to struggle with the question of making it look 60s. Don't feel like you have to get Captain Harriman or Garrett. The 1701 had at least 5 captains before the last screwball crashed it. I'm sure there was another on B and C.
That said, I'll be watching and I expect it to be fun.
