Yeah, the actual game seems very interesting and polished. The fact the default battle mode is 2v2 is fascinating. But like Vi, the monster designs just don't pop for me. Indeed, they seem pretty bland.
I might check it out down the development line (By and large a game has to be heavily on my radar/polished before I'll pony up money for "Early Access" - been burned on that front more than once over the years), but right now I think Many A True Nerd covered all about the game I need to see.

I'm surprised it's taken this long for someone to make something like this.
Of course, the big uphill battle this game is going to have is making its mons not feel like dollar-store knockoff Pokémons. I don't even know how you would do that, since the actual Pokémon games have been struggling with this for a few generations already. The only way I could think to do it would be to make the whole game a parody where the designers started with a terrible pun and worked backward (think Daikatuna from Pokémon Uranium). So, you'd have like a bunny-trashcan hybrid named Rabbish. A pterosaur mostly covered with a black censor bar named Redactyl. An illuminati pyramid with a rotor on top named Copter. And so forth.

I've been interested, but I'm not $35 worth of interested right now.
