This isn't about the PS5 or the Xbox Series X, no this is about the next generation of gamers. I have been playing games since I was old enough to hold a 2600 controller, as my parents had that and a C64 before I was even born.
So I have tons of consoles and portables in my collection. All the systems from Sega, Sony, and Nintendo, as well as Microsoft's Xbox line, for my kids to eventually start their foray into video games. Today, we have some pretty bad weather, so I have got out my two GBA SPs, my DS Lite, my 3ds, and my wife's Yoshi 3DS XL so that we can charge them up. If we are going to be without power, at least we will have some games to entertain the two year old and four year old.
So, I pulled out my trust worthy GBA SP, and start playing some Dragon Warrior 3 ( I recently got the game at a Retro store), and both kids instantly find me and start begging to play a game too. Now, they haven't played much before, but today, I got them both started on the path to a limetime of gaming with the two GBAs playing Mario Brothers on two of the Mario Advance games. Hopefully, they will pick up how to play them well one day, but right now they are just having a blast playing with them, pretending that they are phones, etc.
So anyone else here bring their kids into this addictive and fun hobby?
