*pounds a whiskey*
Okay, so in late 2012, early 2013, I found a game which was just hugging awesome, and apparently pretty cheap and called "Cube World". It was being done by a single dude running his own studio, named "Picroma". I bought it, and loved it. Convinced my friends to buy it (which wasn't all that hard, we were always looking for something new, and cheap made it an easy choice.) and even pimped it here to some decent results. I know a couple of folks here bought in.
Then the asshole dev ghosts. FOR SIX YEARS. No updates, no blog posts, NOTHING. The only proof anything was still happening was the fact that the website never went down.
So, today, less than an hour ago even (I would have made this thread sooner, but literally seeing it made me push up a trip to the toilet. Yeah, I very nearly shit myself cause of this.) Cube World pops up in my steam discovery queue. Oh hey, that seems familiar: I think I played a game like this once. Yeah, the same game, by picroma. Now apparently in beta.
Now, I was kinda pissed. Not a word of this from the studio, no email, no posts, no nothing. I still had my old credentials, so I went and logged into the picroma website. And nothing had changed... except there was now a link for me to claim a beta key on steam. Oh, and a link to the games new website.
I, frankly, don't trust this dude not to hugging run again, but free is free. So IF you bought into this way back when, and still have your picroma login: stick it to this douchenozzle and take a free game. Might as well get it shoved into steam before he ghosts again and valve pulls it.
