Sweet. Wake me when there's news on how non-Americans can get a piece of this pie

I know the paint job is accurate, but man is it underwhelming to me. My aesthetics call for more saturation and detailing!
I both agree and disagree. They're still using that ugly shade of baby blue (instead of a more gray-blue), mustard yellow (instead of orange-gold) and dark metallic silver (instead of a paler gray/silver) that they used on the Amazon Unicron from back in 2010.
Granted, the Takara "Welcome to Transformers 2010" Unicron released earlier that same year was a bit too loud in its own deco, so I wish that this figure had had a more happy medium between these two decos:

No, we don't all know everything but we should spread and share that what we do know.
If I'm consistently misspelling a word, I would want and expect people to correct me as should I imagine all decent people who know the value of good literacy.
Its just arrogant laziness to know you're spelling a word incorrectly and not correct yourself or ignore the advice when people do tell you how to spell a word correctly.

The timing is poor. Late August is back-to-school buying season; wasn't Jabba's sail barge campaign in April?

I'm sure they're hoping SDCC gives this guy a bump, which you can't do in April. Having the prototype on display will grab some good will.

Personally, I'd love something more like this, but I am probably the only one.

This thing consumes dollars. It consumes literal space. Unicron would be proud.

Amazon Unicron (and Platinum Unicron) use very metallic orange, not "mustard yellow". I have no idea where you're getting that from; that said, it sounds like you're basically describing the Platinum Unicron scheme with the slate blue and the lighter silver, which is really nice looking in its own right.

Is it me, or is the head sculpt based off the preliminary Unicron design they went with initially and used in a few scenes?
I prefer the head sculpt on the Platinum Edition Unicron, honestly.

I think they're splitting the difference between the two designs. The face is the final one, the helmet's from the earlier one but decoed to match the final.
Hmm... I say that, but he's missing his devil beard. I think you might be right. Can someone poke Hasbro on Twitter about it?

That's pretty much their only choice to have it look "just like in the movie".

Haslab has given us toys of a remorseless, pitiless eating machine fuelled only by avarice and his contempt for all life... and Unicron.
I know you mean Cookie Monster, but it's kind of funny how this describes all three HasLab projects so far.
