Tomorrow's nostalgia today!

With Hastings and Toys R Us dead, and Target's trend chasing tendency, Barnes and Noble is one of the few major retailers left that reliably carry an appreciable range of "geeky junk".
Man, it does feel like we're continuing to see the end of an era in terms of retail.
I treated Hastings as a free geek museum. They should have charged me a little admission.

I always have trouble finding a book in a store unless I went to get the book.
But I don't think being bought by a hedge fund necessarily means they are going out of business. Certainly breaking up a company is one of the things you can do to make money, but restructuring a business is something that can make you a lot more if the situation is right. They will be investigating that.

No, they aren't arguing that at all. Restructuring a business (either a failing or mitigated business.) is a good way to optimize, fine tune and otherwise turn productive. It's just that the precedent of "bought by hedge fund, then destroyed" is entirely too common these days.
