This year is the 30th anniversary of one of the greatest TV shows of all time!
It ll began as a controversial series of comics from EC comics which kids and teens loved but parents and teachers hated then it got a motion picture in 1972 by Amicus in the UK as it was a hit overseas then spawned a sequel and the comics influenced 1982's cult classic Creepshow in which Stephen King and George Romero grew up with the EC comics as they paid homage to them.
I did grew up with Creepshow since i saw it on VHS with my 11 year old brother back in 86 and saw Creepshow 2 in theaters when i was 5 with my big brother and my dad and enjoyed them. Then i read in fangoria magazine later on about a Tales from the Crypt series in the works and i was 7 when this show debuted on HBO and taped every episode of it since and been my favorite series.
I also saw the 1972 movie on video when i was 8 after hearing about it in magazines like comicscene and Fangoria as i enjoyed it and taped the sequel Vault of Horror off HBO and i had Crypt cards, re-issues of the EC horror/crime/sci-fi comics, a t-shirt and i watched the animated series as well.
Such a well made and fun horror anthology with dark humor, gore, great performances, good writing by talented writers, nice direction by talented directors and more plus guest stars.
