Though lol at paying hundreds of dollars for mushrooms. If I'm spending that much, they better give me one hell of a trip.

Not sure about that hotel you mentioned, for the reasons you stated. That just kinda skeeves me out. But I'm sure you two will have a blast no matter what you do.

*heavily edits first post* I think this is the only thing I can do to keep myself sane. If I write it down, I won't have to keep going over it a million times in my head.

I'm also thinking about a day trip to Hakone (near Mt Fuji). Apparently there's a hot spring themed water park, which has a bathing suit main area and also naked male/female areas. Might be more worthwhile than renting a private 1 room onsen for 1hr (and a high price). They also have themed baths like wine, sake, and...

Bathing in coffee would probably allow Fnu to become his true form:

Hrrrggghhhh.... There's a place called Edo Wonderland that's like stepping back into Edo times, and similar to Ren fairs we have here. You can rent costumes, there's some small attractions/shops/food stands, and a village area that gets used for filming historical stuff (unsure if it can be visited when not in use). It's in Nikko, which is home to some World Heritage temples. Main issue is that I don't think we can do this and Hakone with the onsen park. They both have lovely sights nearby outside the parks. The onsen would likely be more relaxing. On the other hand, I might be able to see TMM in samurai getup XD

So I'm currently spreadsheeting the places we want to go into the different areas, to try to narrow down things by locale, how badly we want to go, etc. Just got through the first section in the Geek guide book to Tokyo, Akihabara. I really shouldn't be surprised, but...
Akiba Joshi-ryo. Here's your chance to infiltrate a girls' dormitory where the pajama-wearing "dormitory" girls... are more than happy to engage you in conversation and play games... The basic course.. consists in chatting and playing analog and/or video games with the girl of your choice. There are plenty of options as well... including light massages, photo taking, and even being slapped across the face!I guess this is sort of a variant on a hostess club, but I hope the girls have a way to call for help if needed, considering they get their individual rooms.

Sounds like the basis to a visual novel or dating game.

I'm sure they get older guys, and all sorts of other guys too. There's other services in Japan where you can hire someone to pretend to be your friend, GF/BF, etc. Mostly to save face at social gatherings and whatnot.

Bummer. I was half thinking of checking out the Capcom Bar for Okami/Phoenix Wright food/goods, but looks like it closed and turned into a Monster Hunter bar. Also, I have to be extra careful when looking at hotel prices, the prices directly on the Japanese websites are often listed per person. Got really excited when I thought I could rent some nicer rooms until I found out it's double the price. Would love to stay in a ryoukan (Japanese inn) that has a private onsen room you can rent for an hour, but they're expensive.

AAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!! *runs around*
So I was looking into Odaiba, which has the Gundam statue. Odaiba's a man-built island, across the Rainbow Bridge (featured in Digimon). They also have Joypolis, a small amusement park place. One of the rides is a cool looking horror ride in the style of ink paintings. Also, they have an Ace Attorney themed mystery thing!!! 3 cases you can puzzle over various mini consoles, looks like. Even though it's Japanese only, I REALLY want to try it. Maybe I can get past the kanji with Google Translate on my phone? They also have a Transformers ride, but watch the video. Yeah, I don't think we could handle that amount of spinning.

Sounds like a good idea, but if you see any Digimon hanging around the bridge, I wouldn't risk it. That poor bridge...
Pretty ironic comment because of your avatar.
