certain people are already making claims ranging everywhere from "anti-Christian attack" to "false flag by President Macron."
So yeah. That'll be a fun discourse.

We must rebuild. Every last detail. I don't care if it takes a whole century. Every Western country needs to make sure this happens.
I actually made this comment before. I hope when they rebuild (and they will.) they source stone and wood from around the world. I hope that this cathedral can become more than just a symbol of christianity, but a symbol of what we all can accomplish when we work together.

This is a good thread on why fires in this kind of a structure are so difficult to deal with:
After my last tweet, I got a couple DMs asking firefighting related questions about the #NotreDameFire.— Gregg Favre (@GreggFavre) April 15, 2019
I -like most of you- are watching from a world away. But if you’re interested in some profession specific things I’d note/be concerned of, you can follow this thread. pic.twitter.com/golMnbYsDK

But not one new detail to "add" to the symbolism.
Just rebuild it.
I'm sure the original designs are kicking around somewhere. No, don't change it, but... Little signs up around the structure. "Granite in this wall came from the canadian rockies. XXXXX kilometers away." "Granite in this wall came from Sierra Madre Del Sur, xxxxx kilometers away", "The wooden cross beams supporting the roof came from the guatemalan rainforest, xxxxx kilometers away.", "Marble for this floor was mined in japan, XXXXX kilometers away.".

Breaking now, the Notre Dame Cathedral is burning to the ground.
The moment the spire fell.
As a historian and a lover of great historical art, this is utterly heartbreaking.
I wonder why some of the tweets were scrubbed...
