@  Maximus Ambus : (29 September 2020 - 01:35 AM)

Ever notice Kath SOucie's Janine in the later episodes of Real Ghostbusters sounds like Tara Strong's Sari Sumdac?

@  Maximus Ambus : (28 September 2020 - 02:10 PM)

I wish they were more universal like Beast Wars, Animated or Prime and as professionally done,

@  Maximus Ambus : (28 September 2020 - 02:06 PM)

The Netflix shows are done for adults, the Generation toyline is for adults who grew up with G1.

@  Sabrblade : (28 September 2020 - 12:53 PM)

Who said it ever was?

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 September 2020 - 12:43 PM)

Whatever happened to WFC Earthrise being a kids show X'D

@  wonko the sane? : (28 September 2020 - 11:43 AM)

Cool, my last tablet couldn't run it, and I stopped caring by the time I got the new one. So thanks!

@  Otaku : (28 September 2020 - 11:27 AM)

There are crossover characters, but the amount and distribution... Marvel Vs Capcom this ain't.  If @wonko the sane? my bad!

@  Otaku : (28 September 2020 - 11:21 AM)

I've been playing for *checks account* 1002 days, 23 hours.  So, by 2021, it will have been three years.  I think it takes place in its own continuity, largely inspired by G1 but borrowing from other places.

@  Otaku : (28 September 2020 - 11:19 AM)

@wonko the sane? Can only speak for Earth Wars, but so few they're easy to forget.

@  wonko the sane? : (28 September 2020 - 07:39 AM)

Didn't they already do the across universes thing in that tablet game?

@  Demovere Xeno : (28 September 2020 - 05:30 AM)

Also, make the setting an amalgamation of different Transformers series, rather than based on a specific one. Bring in things like 'Sentinel Major' as the primo Autobot jerk, and sleek car mode Vehicons as the Decepticons' basic grunt.

@  Demovere Xeno : (28 September 2020 - 05:27 AM)

KT just needs to incorporate the vehicle modes into the combat system, like Platinum did for Devastation, so they're for more than just wheeling it across the battlefield. =P

@  Demovere Xeno : (28 September 2020 - 05:25 AM)

Transformers: Warriors of Cybertron! =D

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (28 September 2020 - 05:15 AM)

I want a Power Rangers Mosu. I would also take a Transformers Mosu. :D

@  TheMightyMol... : (28 September 2020 - 04:50 AM)

It even ended on a sequel hook.

@  Demovere Xeno : (28 September 2020 - 04:40 AM)

Man, I just want another Devastation game... =(

@  NotVeryKnightly : (28 September 2020 - 01:53 AM)

Aren't TFs way more varied than Joes, as far as they'd work in gameplay? Like, Omega Supreme is vastly different from Bumblebee.

@  unluckiness : (27 September 2020 - 10:16 PM)

Hell, ripoff Super Robot Wars withTFs

@  unluckiness : (27 September 2020 - 10:16 PM)

IDK they could make something like FF tactics or Fire Emblem ripoff with Robots and i'd buy it

@  Steevy Maximus : (27 September 2020 - 09:43 PM)

See, I feel GI Joe (with it's varied cast) is a better fit for a strategy game, where as Transformers feels more suited for a shooter.

@  Maruten : (27 September 2020 - 08:28 PM)

I might give them points for making a strategy game if it's actually a good strategy game.

@  wonko the sane? : (27 September 2020 - 07:48 PM)

I mean, points for making a strategy game instead of third person shooter, but: urrrrgggg. Cyberverse.

@  wonko the sane? : (27 September 2020 - 07:47 PM)

A transformers game for the switch? *checks* Urrrggg... cyberverse...

@  Steevy Maximus : (27 September 2020 - 06:28 PM)

October will be a big month for Hasbro fans: Zoids, GI Joe AND Transformers all have brand new console games. All on the Switch at that!

@  wonko the sane? : (27 September 2020 - 09:04 AM)

At least in animated he was more driven than just "loyal bootlick".

@  unluckiness : (27 September 2020 - 08:29 AM)

Oof, That's a huge downgrade

@  Maximus Ambus : (27 September 2020 - 02:35 AM)

After rewatching Animated Sound and Fury, in my head canon Titans Return Soundwave is that Soundwave.

@  wonko the sane? : (26 September 2020 - 04:09 PM)

On an unrelated note: I just got the BBTS email about kingdom pre-orders... and even the stuff I don't want I'm perfectly willing to get if it means I can have the rest of it.

@  wonko the sane? : (26 September 2020 - 04:08 PM)

It's digimon. So first one, then the other.

@  TheMightyMol... : (26 September 2020 - 12:53 PM)

50/50 odds, it's either a helicopter with limbs, or a scantily-clad human with heli blades on their back. If female, 90% odds on the second one.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (26 September 2020 - 12:39 PM)

I read that as "Helicoptermon" and wondered what kind of Digimon that was.

@  Bass X0 : (26 September 2020 - 12:35 PM)

Helicopter-mom, transform!

@  Maximus Ambus : (25 September 2020 - 11:58 PM)

Aw I scratched the hood of my 35th anniversary Bluestreak. Fortunately he's in robot mode a lot.

@  Sabrblade : (25 September 2020 - 07:24 PM)

No decoration could improve the wall more than Knockout himself

@  TheMightyMol... : (25 September 2020 - 05:04 PM)

Meanwhile all the other species are like "It's from when you bang, dudes".

I like this just because the banging would be literal.

"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Yeah, I genuinely appreciate that in all the different canonical explanations for where new TFs come from that we've gotten over the decades, sexual reproduction has never been one of them (at least not in a spelled-out way. Obviously the implication is there in this example, but as SG Roadbuster pointed out, there's room for other interpretations). It's probably only a matter of time before some continuity finally makes it an official Thing, but in the meantime I really like that this is an area where TFs get to be fully alien, when they've been humanized in basically every other way.

Well they should be aliens, but also have some human in them to.

We heard and read about how fans say that them mating is boring, but so is them being built. I find that even more boring them sexually reproducing and I also find that boring. I mean that's how our bots came to be. I prefer the hotspot thing. I like it when they're alien towards us and our robots.

I'm neither fine with them being built or mating. Okay for the sexually reproduction part, I'm only okay if the mating is different from our and they don't lay eggs or give birth to a baby, but a spark slipts or something more alien, like budding after mating. In my headcanon, after mating, the mother will bud out the new Cybertronian.

I am fine with them having families and realtionship. Fine with them reporducing and the offspring being 'kids'. There is a point when something can get TOO alien, and you start to loose people when these are supposed to be the main characters you're mean to relate to. My only issue is when things get too organic. Even 'natural' reproduction of something similar to humans could work, so long as its the concept and not the act. DNA is just our programming code. We share part of our code, with part of another's code, and make a new generation with hopefully better coding then the both of us. That can still be true of Transformers. Two Trransfomers sharign part of their programing  to create a new transfomer's core (however you want it to be) which can grow and upgrade as it advances. Similar but different.

There are lots of stories about human main characters to whom you can relate because they are humans. Transformers constantly wants to throw away the things that make it not just a story about humans, sometimes up to and including the actual transforming.

When, on occasion, I remember that there were briefly Decepticon hatchlings in ROTF and DOTM, I wonder what they hatched from. (And if it's the weird sacs they're in to begin with, what are those and where did they come from?)

I presume they make babies the way the characters of Robots did.

Tramp would say: No they have to get down and dirty to have babies. If you don't know Tramp, he's a guy who believes that Transformers sexually reproducing is canon. His reason is that you wouldn't build a helpless baby. I agreed with that, that's why I believe that child transformers would be around 5-6 at the start of their life.
That's the age where kids are a semi independent. I see 10-11 the maxuim.

Oh, so like most hoofed mammals, then?

(incidentally, this is why I presume that in any fantasy setting involving centaurs, they're born with the human half at the same development of a human at least a year old)

I think its fair to say after all this arguing that the only conclusion we can make is that the entirety of the Cybertronian wars was actually just because the Transformers misinterpreted how robots were supposed to have sex.

Yeah, but it seem like most of the fans want no humans at all.

I absolutely abhore the idea of Transformers actually having human esque sex, and reproduction like the females getting pregnant. While I am fine with them having a form of reproduction that involves sharing their code with each other, I personally imagine that Transformers 'sex' would be incredibly boring and nothing like the people into that would want. A very simple, straight forward, and effeicent process that is about the outcome and not pleasure. On the other hand, I'm also not particularly fond of them being built/mass produced (like we kinda see in Beast Machines, but Something like Robots is fine) becuase then they become too much like human machines and not alien beings. Stuff like Allspark creation, Matrix creation, Hot Spots, or similar 'magical' methods are also fine since it bypasses both ideas completely.

My headcanon is that they bud, but not from other robots . . . They bud up from Cybertron itself.  Which I guess is basically what IDW did with the hotspots.  IIRC Anode's job involved helping the sentient metal take proper form around a spark emerging from a hot spot, but is that necessary every time or only when the spark is having an unusual amount of trouble?

Anyway, I like the idea of Cybertronians pulling themselves grotesquely out of the planet's surface, adult-sized and with enough basic info processed into their brains to get by until they wander into a city.  It makes the wartime destruction of Cybertron more tragic if the planet is not only their god but also their 'mom', and if their species is doomed without it.

Edit:  Like imagine you're a bot travelling through the wilderness and suddenly the ground shudders and you're like "oh no an earthquake" but then, with a rumble, a whole mountain in the distance just rises, debris showering off of itand as it staggers into something bipedal that blots out the sun you realize you've just witnessed one of Cybertron's rarest miracles: a city-former being born.

I think the concept of being educated and being able to educate is something that more people need more of in their lives.

No, we don't all know everything but we should spread and share that what we do know.

If I'm consistently misspelling a word, I would want and expect people to correct me as should I imagine all decent people who know the value of good literacy.

Its just arrogant laziness to know you're spelling a word incorrectly and not correct yourself or ignore the advice when people do tell you how to spell a word correctly.

It's kinda interesting that the movie that introduced the idea of mass-produced babies also had Jetfire mention having a father. Hound would later on bring up his dad, which implies the hatchlings were either wholly unnatural (like clones or something) or that the Decepticons "evolved" into basically a new species since Grandpa Blackbird's day (the Cons being rather monstrous compared to the Autobots lends itself to this idea too).

Incidentally, taking Jetfire's claim about his father being the first wheel literally is kinda interesting in itself. Was there a generation of Transformers that were just simple machines? Did they advance that quickly, or did they experience a dark age of sorts...
