Ha! Talk about getting away with something!

Carnivac was still an evil Decepticon at heart, and no one shot him in the back for it.

@  Maximus Ambus : (30 May 2020 - 02:14 AM)

Shockwave did it.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (30 May 2020 - 12:21 AM)

I'm not in the US and at least some of the episodes seem to work for me. I don't know the actual list of places it's available, though.

@  Shockwave 75 : (29 May 2020 - 10:37 PM)

Unfortunately It seems Cyberverse is only available in the US on YouTube.

@  -LittleAutob... : (29 May 2020 - 09:19 AM)

Yes, and its ongoing.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (29 May 2020 - 01:05 AM)

Cyberverse is already officially uploaded to YouTube.

@  fourteenwings : (29 May 2020 - 12:36 AM)

Spin Master is abridging current episodes of Bakugan Armored Alliance and posting the result on YouTube. Maybe Hasbro does that someday too.

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 May 2020 - 10:59 PM)

I see... :/

@  wonko the sane? : (28 May 2020 - 08:14 PM)

Within the US anyway. Those channels aren't easy or cheap to access in other countries, and their website often region lock content. Tubi is the only good thing on that list: largely identical (but not perfectly so. Damnit. I wanna watch COPS.) country to country and free.

@  Steevy Maximus : (28 May 2020 - 07:24 PM)

So yeah, Hasbro is using plenty of venues to spread exposure of their brands

@  Steevy Maximus : (28 May 2020 - 07:23 PM)

Starz currently licenses Transformers G1 and the GI Joe movie (as well as MLP specials). Netflix has more current series available.

@  Nevermore : (28 May 2020 - 07:21 PM)

Study shows: Holders of the title "world's oldest person" have a severely increased risk of dying.

@  Steevy Maximus : (28 May 2020 - 07:18 PM)

Tubi TV and Youtube both host various Hasbro cartoons. Both are freely accessed and ad supported. Any basic TV package (barring straight antenna) includes channels like USA Network, SyFy and FX, all of which regularly air the films from Transformers and GI Joe.

@  wonko the sane? : (28 May 2020 - 06:18 PM)

I dunno what to tell you, media might be changing slowly, but at least it's still accessible. Even the folks that DON'T get one of the streaming services can watch it on the company website. It's a vehicle for the toy line after all, they need to make an effort to make it as consumable as possible.

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 May 2020 - 05:41 PM)

Well. Thats said, then.... I guess... :doh

@  wonko the sane? : (28 May 2020 - 04:13 PM)

As long as the the cartoons are profitable, then they'll make more. The media it's shown on is completely irrelevant. I say that as a guy whose earliest surviving memory is a big red truck turning into a big red robot.

@  ZakuConvoy : (28 May 2020 - 03:06 PM)

Might be the end of an era. With the rise of streaming, who knows if Transformers will ever be on broadcast TV again.

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 May 2020 - 11:46 AM)

3 seasons on a show is usually enough... but yeah ;-;

@  Roddie Luver : (27 May 2020 - 09:37 PM)

I’m also sad Cyberverse has no season four.

@  Paladin : (26 May 2020 - 08:10 PM)

I'll agree with you on that.

@  Steevy Maximus : (25 May 2020 - 01:37 PM)

I'm actually sad Cyberverse won't get another season. 2 and 3 (of what I've seen) have REALLY nailed it in being fun little actions shows, like the Sunbow series.

@  Rycochet : (25 May 2020 - 01:00 PM)

Yes.

@  Maximus Ambus : (25 May 2020 - 12:52 PM)

I'm waiting for Animated season 4. Am I insane?

I'm waiting for the next season to show up on netflix.

Well, comic fans might cry foul at some changes. I know it shouldn't be a thing anymore, with the diverse media adaptations, but I'm miffed as some changes they did for one of the characters whose comic title I collected.

And it's really a Harley movie anyhow.

Also, secret bonus voiceover at the end of the credits.

Nope. Joker is mentioned but never shown.

I enjoyed it but fail to see why they even bothered trying to bill this as a Birds of Prey Movie. Montoya and Canary do get some decent screen time but Huntress was barely in it until the end. They could of easily dropped the Birds of Prey and made the subtitle the only title. Was this a great movie. No. Was it a good fun romp in the vein of Deadpool. Yes. And really thats mainly what DC was again trying to do, aping what Fox did with Marvels property. It's inferior to be sure but it was a good fun attempt.

Things of note. Montoya's sexual preference isn't explored. Canary isn't the first and being a meta under Batmans nose within the same universe and him not trying to recruit her seems odd. And Cassandra Cain fans probably won't like this version of her in the movie.

Yeeeeah, I collected the Kelly Puckett Batgirl Cassandra series and I'm all What the Hex?! But I guess I'm ok with it. If they'll ever do Batgirl in DCEU movies anyway, it'll be Barbara first. Then Spoiler second. Cassandra as Batgirl is, like, 10 movies away, haha

I'm actually ok that the lesbian and gay representation were treated like it was nothing. Like, seriously, it was nothing. The lesbian thing was a throw away comment (they focused on her age) and the gay guys thing was cute but can't go anywhere (considering who they were, haha).

It's like, if bad guys are not fazed by gay folks they're associated with, same with the good guys (the cops), then why should real people? Stuff like that.

Did they comment on Montoya? I must of missed it focusing on the shirt she was wearing for half the movie :D

This film's weekend totals were below expectations.

https://en.wikipedia...ilm)#Box_office

As of February 9, 2020, Birds of Prey has grossed $33 million in the United States and Canada, and $48 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $81 million.[3][4] It is estimated the film will need to gross $250–300 million worldwide in order to break-even.[2]

In the United States and Canada, Birds of Prey was initially projected to gross $50–55 million from 4,236 theaters in its opening weekend.[85] However after making $13 million in its first day, (including $4 million from Thursday night previews), estimates were lowered to $33 million. It went on to debut to just $33.2 million, finishing first at the box office but marking the lowest opening for a DC film since Jonah Hex in 2010 ($5.3 million), and 75% less than Suicide Squad's $133.4 million opening. The low start was blamed on the possible lack of demand for a solo film surrounding the character of Harley Quinn, as well as the R rating limiting the appeal and demographics for ticket sales.[86]

In other territories, the film was expected to debut to $60–70 million from 76 countries, for a worldwide total of $110–125 million.[85] It made $7.8 million after two days of overseas release in 51 countries and $18.1 million from the full 76 after three. The film went on to make $48 million from international play in its opening weekend and just $81.2 million worldwide. Its highest grossers were Mexico ($4.6 million), Russia ($4 million), the United Kingdom ($3.9 million), Brazil ($2.8 million) and France ($2.7 million). The low opening was blamed on similar audience hesitations like in the United States, as well as the outbreak of the Coronavirus in Asia closing some theaters.[87]

I'm interested in seeing it, but didn't rush out to do so.

I feel like there's something weird with movie economics when a movie is no. 1 at the box office but still making less than expected.

I saw it Saturday, and it was fine.  It was enjoyable enough but it never grabbed me.  I think the biggest complaint I have is that it just wasn't very funny.  There was a lot of potential for jokes that just didn't get told.

Spoiler

Off the top of my head, I can't really even remember why it needed to be rated R.  I think it could have been PG-13 without much editing.

Maybe it was R because they were hoping to draw people in with the R rating? Like with Deadpool?

I dunno. I've not rushed out to see it because.. well DCU hasn't really been something I rush out to see in general. I hear it's 'okay' but that its just okay. Apparently they are, post release, renaming it to Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey which is a more accurate and more.. attention drawing title.

I dunno if it will get them the extra bump they want or not.

The original title was rather stupid. Calling it anything else is a step up.

Saw it, and it was, broadly, okay.  It was definitely a film that relied more on its concept and the strength of the actors themselves than a savvy script.  That said, it was clear the majority of the cast was having it a ball, and Robbie and McGregor were clearly allowed to ham it up as much as they wanted.

More than anything, the fight choreography was AMAZING.  This had some of the best fight work I've seen in a superhero film, to the point I felt myself moving with some the swings and impacts.  That police station scene easily jumped into my top 10 film action sequences.

Finally saw it and thought it was fun. Not groundbreaking, but entertaining and worthy of better numbers than it's had at any rate.

I assume the R rating came from too many F-bombs, because the violence wasn't especially gory.

Pre-ordered this a long time ago and finally got the steel book. Movie was okay. Harley was good, but I felt everyone else was just okay and the overall story was meh. Kind of regretting getting it. Which is honestly my opinion about all the DC films.

I was really hoping to like this more since I like the Harley animated series so much and enjoyed (and continue to enjoy) Margot as Harley.

I just saw it.  They should have just called it Harley Quinn since the Birds of Prey were little more than supporting characters in what was ostensibly their own movie.
