Yesterday, my son and I worked on our core. I had a huge headache all day, and it got worse when I laid on my back to do leg raises...so I ended up doing what I could and then wrapped up my workout doing a stair stepper routine while he walked.

 

Today, my wife worked out with me (going to have my son walk on the treadmill tonight after school). I also walked for .4 of a mile after we finished upper body.

 

Move calories burned so far this year: 5872

 

Miles:  35.08 + .4 = 34.48
Uppers:  935 + 225 = 1160
Lowers: 615
Core: 382 + 124 = 506

I've actually lost count of how many of these we've done, but we all know the drill at this point.

 
I think that we started the first one in 2012.

Was it you, Wonko, who started it? I recall it was someone else but he disappeared and I was happy that the thread kept continuing.

Oh, should really show my appreciation for you guys here in the thread, being good company while keeping up the fight. Thanks so much :)

Glad to be here to help. It can be a ridiculous, tiring, frustrating thing, but it is easier when you know other people are going through it too.

Glad to be here to help. It can be a ridiculous, tiring, frustrating thing, but it is easier when you know other people are going through it too.


Can't remember the name of the person who started it but I'm glad you carried it over :)

Anyhow, have a week to train myself to wake up early and go 5km cuz I have a fun run to do on the 19th.

Yesterday was lower body, and today was upper body with a .49 mile walk after.

 

Man, I crushed it today. It's one of those workouts where you want to stand in a mirror and yell like the Hulk afterwards, ha! I worked every upper body muscle group and did every exercise that I track (except pull ups and dips, which I need to buy equipment for at some point yet).

 

I also threw in 50 push ups (sets of 25, 10, 15, and finally 5) to wrap it up. I took off my shirt halfway through, which...okay this might sound dumb, but even though I don't have the body I want (yet), having the courage to work out on our porch with my shirt off (and this time, in the daytime where people can clearly see me) is a confidence booster. Basically, i've been gradually trying to get more comfortable in my body while trying to improve it over the past few years, and this is a step towards that.

 

It's like...yeah, people drove by. A lot today, actually. But why should I care? I'm trying to improve myself.

 

Other stats:

If I can get a period where things are at least halfway calm, I'm going to try and get in for a full physical. 

 

I was born with arrhythmia. 

 

Last summer, I was diagnosed with a series of spinal and hip conditions. I have a vertebrae that's somehow *forward* of where it should be, one hip is higher than the other, and my spine as a whole is off by just enough to where I meet the requirements for scoliosis. The physical therapist I met with said I've got the worst case of swayback she's ever seen. 

 

I've got nerve damage in both hands, and tendon damage in my right thumb. 

 

My left knee is pretty well blown, and my right ankle never healed right after an injury. 

 

This is just what I know is wrong with me. 

 

If I'm going to work on a full-fledged health plan, I need a full and proper physical to get it all together.

Alright folks! Join me on my adventure of the last 18 hours!

 

From the point I woke up yesterday, to round about 5 pm, I was perfectly fine. After five, I started feeling very congested, bloated, plugged up in general. Okay, it happens some times. No big deal. Have my dinner at about 6.30, and it feels like every single bite is sticking, refusing to go all the way down. quarter to 7, I need to abruptly stop doing the dishes as I was struck with a shudder than went my from ass to my toes. Toilet time! And I'm shitting water.

 

Quarter AFTER 7; done on the toilet, cleaned up a bit, and decide I am going to get some pyjama pants on, for comfort. I get half way through pulling them up when my body very subtly tells me to go back to the bathroom. Right now. I have just enough time to get comfy around the toilet and I'm passing everything I had eaten thus far back into the ecosystem. Joy.

 

About 8 oclock, I am back on my computer, and gaming. I don't feel great, but not egregiously bad either. I get contacted by my friend dave and he wants to jump into 7 days to die. SURE! I get everything loaded up, we both get on the server, and as soon as he knows where his character is: he states he's going to get a coffee (he's out in BC, where there's 3 hours of time difference.). While he's gone getting a coffee: I black out. I wake up after about 30 seconds to a minute. Just as dave comes back, I tell him I need to go.

 

So I head up to the living room, and go and sit with my mother. Where upon I black out AGAIN. I wake up to her yelling my name. Apparently, I looked like I was having a seizure. Alright, we ponder this out, and I start to take small volumes of orange juice. It's a blood sugar thing because I very NEARLY pass out twice more before I give up and head to bed, and nearly pass out again at 1 am while making a toilet run.

 

I'm tired, I didn't sleep very well at all. I'm ungodly sore, but I can get up, walk around, do stuff and not black out, so... on the mend, yeah. There's been a gastro going round up here, guess my plague bearer kin finally got me. I'm not worried about what has happened so far, it's happened before and usually under similar circumstances. So, nothing powerfully wrong, just sick.

Better. I slept well, and everything seems to be settling down nicely. I'm not better yet, but certainly much closer than before. I was actually able to have breakfast! Granted, two slices of dry toast, but at least I was actually hungry.

 

Edit: what's actually striking me about all this is how quickly it hit, and how quickly it's retreating.

 

Edit2: Never mind, what's striking is how bad I stink right now. I feel like rhinox after the wild bean vines...

Still trying for the fun run, which got moved to Jan 20. If my not-rival doesn't come, I have a shot at first place. But I'm so not ready for jogging, dang!

I wound up with a gastro. But running 3.5 miles, then NOT keeping your meal is counter indicated when it comes to keeping blood sugars normalize, so my sugars crashed and I went with it. Causally related, but not symptoms.
