@  Rycochet : (14 October 2019 - 01:51 PM)

He dubbed the peoples that saw him as bad news cannibals and savages before enslaving and wiping them out too.

@  wonko the sane? : (14 October 2019 - 01:40 PM)

And if they had been unfriendly: he would have simply slaughtered them with diseases they couldn't fight, and technology they couldn't match until they as a people did not exist. There's something about european backgrounds that drive us to exploit.

@  Rycochet : (14 October 2019 - 11:02 AM)

He described the peoples he encountered as some of the most friendly and giving in the world, so naturally, he ate all their food, enslaved them and put them to work looking for gold that did not exist, until they as a people did not exist.

@  Paladin : (14 October 2019 - 09:57 AM)

he landed by coincidence in front of long-term residents.

@  Sabrblade : (14 October 2019 - 09:55 AM)

He said the world was round-o! (He said the world was round-o!) He said it could be found-o! (He said it could be found-o!) That hypothetical, calculated, son-of-a-gun, Columbo! (That hypothetical, calculated, son-of-a-gun, Columbo!)

@  Benbot : (14 October 2019 - 09:22 AM)

In the year 1492, Columbus gave us the day off skoo

@  Noideaforaname : (14 October 2019 - 08:59 AM)

How often do people actually celebrate Columbus or the Pilgrims? Usually it just feels like celebrating the first break in the school year and a nice dinner with the family.

@  wonko the sane? : (14 October 2019 - 08:29 AM)

You've got like two more weeks until the american thanksgiving. Canadian thanksgiving is literally a harvest festival.

@  CVReynolds : (14 October 2019 - 08:09 AM)

Hey, everyone. Come together to enjoy this national holiday made to celebrate a mass-murderer who never set foot in the USA. What fun!

@  Benbot : (14 October 2019 - 07:25 AM)

that's perfect!

@  TheMightyMol... : (06 October 2019 - 12:33 PM)

His bulk is too great to teleport across such distances.

@  Sabrblade : (06 October 2019 - 11:09 AM)

@  Darth Gonzo : (06 October 2019 - 10:47 AM)

And checking: those monitors are REALLY expensive.

@  wonko the sane? : (04 October 2019 - 09:30 AM)

Eh, I'm happy with multiple 1080's personally.

@  Benbot : (03 October 2019 - 07:21 PM)

Everyone needs a 1440 monitor. Just set up my new battle station and I never knew how much I was missing!

@  TheMightyMol... : (03 October 2019 - 06:59 PM)

Each part of a combiner is a complete toy in itself, so no, not really.

@  PlutoniumBoss : (03 October 2019 - 06:47 PM)

Aren't combiners technically BAFs?

@  Rycochet : (03 October 2019 - 02:16 PM)

The Anniversary Beast Wars figures had BAF parts over a decade ago, the minicons of RiD2 had BAF stuff too, heck, the Takara PVC line had Build A Figures back in the early 2000s.

@  Paladin : (03 October 2019 - 01:35 PM)

can't believe Build A Figures finally came to Transformers...

Does feel a bit out of character for Fury, the guy who doesn't trust anybody because a space cat scratched out his eye.

It's a Fury who lost Iron Man and Captain America and Black Widow, doesn't know where Thor is, can't rely on Marvel and knows he needs more heroes in a world more dangerous than ever.  Or it is Chameleon or an illusion.  But it could totally be the former.

Yeah, the fact that he's calling in Spider-Man suggests that he doesn't trust Mysterio.

I could watch the trailer again (I'd like to), but I'm not confident that we actually see unclipped footage showing that he DOES trust Mysterio.  I know I saw shots showing that Spider-Man trusts Mysterio.

Edit - Well, I watched it again and Fury does calmly introduce him to Beck, so if it is really Fury (and I expect it is), he is at least willing to work with him.

The cast was on Kimmell the other night, and Holland was a describing a scene of him fighting "Hydro-man" and Gyllenhall mentioned "elemental monsters."  Hmm.

I mean Fury introduces not Spide rman to Mysterio but unmaskd Peter Parker as Spider man to Mysterio. I got to figure Fury wouldn't just out Peters true identity to someone he doesn't trust.

It's the MCU. Secret Identities are more of a formality in this setting.

I think the concept of being educated and being able to educate is something that more people need more of in their lives.

No, we don't all know everything but we should spread and share that what we do know.

If I'm consistently misspelling a word, I would want and expect people to correct me as should I imagine all decent people who know the value of good literacy.

Its just arrogant laziness to know you're spelling a word incorrectly and not correct yourself or ignore the advice when people do tell you how to spell a word correctly.

There are rumours going around that the multiverse will be a genuine element and it's apparently because of the MCU Disney+ shows and what they'll be exploring. Disney/Marvel want a sandbox do stories that aren't necessarily in direct canon with the movies.

They already established the multiverse with Endgame. The multiverse angle in Far From Home remains suspect, just given Mysterio's presence.

I dunno, multiverse and alternate timelines aren't exactly the same thing. Universes are trees and alternate timelines are branches.

Either that's a very elaborate reference to Nick Fury's first appearance in the 90's Spider-Man series...or someone did a crappy job with Photoshop.

I understood that reference.

Chameleon had impersonated Fury with the eye-patch on the wrong eye.
