Don't frustrate yourself OR her for it. Just keep the camera ready and if it happens, it happens.

I'll probably try waving treats in front of her and whistling it, see if I can encourage it

@  Ashley : (23 October 2019 - 12:14 AM)

I'll try. She's not the most obedient bird, so it's going to take some work to get her to do it on demand.

@  wonko the sane? : (22 October 2019 - 10:03 PM)

In fact; we demand video.

@  MEDdMI : (22 October 2019 - 09:26 PM)

Now you have to get it on video

@  Ashley : (22 October 2019 - 08:11 PM)

@  Steevy Maximus : (22 October 2019 - 06:10 PM)

Yeah, I think both are too old and too expensive at this stage. Hasbro/Paramount are going to try for younger actors that can do multiple films AND can be locked into a multifilm contract cheaply

@  Paladin : (22 October 2019 - 06:05 PM)

so he'd probably be sixty by the time they get to another GI Joe project.

@  Patch : (22 October 2019 - 06:04 PM)

According to Wikipedia he's 51.

@  Paladin : (22 October 2019 - 05:38 PM)

isn't Crews like sixty now???

@  wonko the sane? : (22 October 2019 - 02:11 PM)

... I could get behind that.

@  RichardT1977 : (22 October 2019 - 12:33 PM)

Who thinks that, in the event of a GI Joe cinematic reboot, John Cena and Terry Crews would be perfect for Duke and Roadblock, respectively?

@  Telly : (21 October 2019 - 05:17 PM)

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:59 PM)

I've barely used them over the years, so I'm sure they won't miss me, but I'm done too. Thankfully Pulse put up the Seacons today.

@  Telly : (21 October 2019 - 04:58 PM)

i didnt complete it, which is why this is confusing and pi$$ing me off. theres no record of it in my order history. i emailed them about it, so we will see what happens. either way, i think im done using them after this

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:55 PM)

Either we're both unlucky or they're trying to force payment now for these takaratomy mall exclusives.

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:55 PM)

I asked them to kindly undo that and I got a sternly worded email about how I should use their website right.

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:55 PM)

Yeah, if you completed the order, they charged you the money now. Mine said stack before I finished checking out. I only noticed I was charged because of Paypal.

@  Telly : (21 October 2019 - 04:53 PM)

i wasnt even wanting to pay now. i was going to add them to my stack but i didnt get the chance after i was done setting up paypal

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:53 PM)

If you haven't officially placed the order, I don't think so? Although, I had to request a cancellation with them last week because their system changed details about my order after I placed it, so I don't exactly trust them.

@  Telly : (21 October 2019 - 04:51 PM)

so im not actually being charged then?

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:48 PM)

So, if you were one click away from purchasing, then they probably did the pre-authorization already. The next click will charge you the money now.

@  Shrug : (21 October 2019 - 04:47 PM)

TFsource charges upfront for regular pre-orders.

@  Telly : (21 October 2019 - 04:45 PM)

i was considering buying the upcoming seacons from tfsource. i had them in my cart and was on the checkout page. i set up a credit card through paypal, and before i even hit the "place order" button, i got a text saying that a charge or hold was placed on my card! is this normal? is it just checking to see if i have the money? why did it do it before i even placed the order??

At the moment, I'm blessed with a pretty nice superior. He's got a military background, but he takes an oddly entertaining approach to it. Imagine a stand-up comedian who accidentally enlisted as a drill sergeant.

@  Nevermore : (19 October 2019 - 12:54 PM)

Another type of everyday absurdity: Imagine you're leaving your workplace for your lunchbreak. Upon your return, you discover that your workplace has been cordened and/or gated off during your break, with "construction site" warning signs everywhere. You go to your superior and tell him: "I can no longer access my workplace! Why is there suddenly a construction site?" Your superior takes a surpised look and says: "I don't know, first time I see this." You figure: "Must be a Tuesday, then."

Amazon in the US has pretty good benefits, though, and even the temp workers had forty hours a week to start with. Even with minimum wage, that's pretty good pay.

@  Nevermore : (18 October 2019 - 01:20 AM)

Oh, the turnover rates are high here as well.

@  TM2-Megatron : (17 October 2019 - 09:45 PM)

Amazon.com and .ca, on the other hand, can be pretty terrible. I know from your squawkbox posts that you guys have your issues with Amazon over there, although you're lucky to have stronger government regulations and a union there. I gather the warehouse workers in the USA and Canada have it pretty crappy, with very high turnover, close to minimum wage pay, and no unions

This looks really interesting to me. It looks like each cabinet runs about $300. The cabinets are fairly small (as in more of a sit down rather than stand-up). But there are risers available (not sure about what the additional cost is).

I'd kinda like to get one of these, like, if they're still around come next tax-return or if I can have a few months to save up for it.

I mean, most of the games I see now that I care about (Final Fight, Street Fighter II, Galaga), I already have "arcade-perfect" ports of thanks to PS3 and Switch. So this would really just be a whole thrill of an actual arcade cabinet at home type thing. Now if they could get the license to some Konomi games (Particularly TMNT), I would be all over this no hesitation.

Now I know some of you already have actual arcade cabinets in your homes already. So this may not be something you'd care too much for. I've heard there are higher quality cabinets that can be made with more games and bigger cabinets and all. But for someone who isn't up on the whole technical side of things such as building their own cabinets and stuff, from what I've heard this is really easy even for us non-tech type people to put together and have.

I don't know. Like I said, I already have the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. So it makes it hard to spend $300 for another copy of Street Fighter II. I also have the CapCom Beat 'Em Up collection. So it would be hard to justify the one with Final Fight on it. But if they ever did get the rights for a TMNT one, I'd be all over that. Otherwise, I may just consider that Street Fighter one just as a way of actually having something resembling an arcade cabinet in my home.

Canadian retailers: Walmart!

I can't wait to see how badly marked up it will be. Regardless: I've been waffling about actually building an arcade cabinet for a long while now (It's mine and my brothers "summer project" since before his kid was born.), and this... seems like it could be a reasonably priced alternative. And depending on the hardware and how effectively it could be modded, might just be an "out of the box" solution to that.

Cheers man. This is something I am going to keep my eye on.

And, just thinking: if these get popular enough, they might do a lightgun edition. If it had either of the first two house of the dead games, I would jump on it.

The size of these things, even with the pedestal is tiny. For the cost of them, they aren't horrible if you want one for the novelty, but I would suggest making a MAME cabinet if you really are interested. More games, more fun, and the pride that you built it all for the same amount of money.

Yeah, the size does seem to be an issue. If you can build your own, that's probably a better way to go. I think the lure of this is for people *raises hand* who wouldn't even know where to begin making a cabinet. It's made for dummies like me to build out of box in half an hour.

Wonko: My understanding is that if by modding you mean you want a better joystick and buttons, it is possible to do that. But I'm not sure just how extensive modding potential is. May be something to look into before you buy.

Modding can also mean "figuring out how to extend the use of the hardware". Like they did with the NES classic and getting more games into the system. Looks like each of these cabinets come with 4 to five games, depending on which one you get: and depending on the hardware running the games (proprietary hardware/software, or off the shelf stuff like android, raspberry pie, or even a windows based system running off a netbook.) there might be the capacity to increase the controllers, change the control scheme, sideload more software onto it.

Some tech heads are going to get them, strip 'em to their bolts, and frankenstein them into something else entirely. And in the process, the rest of us can figure how to... optimize the play experience. :)

Early reports seem to suggest the things don't have much internal storage, but people who got units early have already succeeded in replacing the board with a raspberry pi for a more flexible emulation setup.

Over my dead body! I bought them stock and stock they shall remain. Though I may consider getting bat heads for the Street Fighter sticks, maybe. But that would be it.

My understanding from everyone I've heard though is that you can mod things like the sticks and buttons. I think there may even be some light up marquees you can get, though don't quote me on that.

But if your goal is to add more games, it simply doesn't have the storage to do that. You'd seriously be better just to get a raspberry or whatever they're called. This is really for the nitch consumer who wants something stock that they can play or someone who just doesn't have the tech knowledge and needs a simple IKEA machine that Joe Shmoe can put together in an hour.

Oh yeah: congrats man. They do look damn fine.

Thanks! It really does feel like I have a mini-arcade in my dining room and it's really hitting the nostalgic feels something fierce.

I'm considering getting the Final Fight and Mortal Kombat cabinets to join my Street Fighter one.

I've seen lots of videos were people replace the joystick and buttons as well as the CPU used (with Raspberry).  It's actually pretty easy for the most part.

I wish I had the money to get both the Final Fight and Mortal Kombat ones. But I could only afford one. Since I already had the Mortal Kombat collection on PS3 and had yet to have a decent version of Strider, it made the decision kinda easy.

Good luck with your hunt.

TMNT! Holy crap! Guys, you don't even understand. This is the arcade game I played more than Street Fighter, more than Mortal Kombat...quite possibly more than even Final Fight. I have the NES "Arcade Game" and the SNES Turtles in Time. But those were nowhere near arcade perfect. I got the unlocks that came as extras in the Gamecube games. But those were missing the music, a lot of soundbites and even the credits.

So to finally, after all these years, have arcade perfect ports within my grasp? Holy shit, guys! I've already used my tax return for Street Fighter and Final Fight. But even if I have to put this on the credit card, this will be mine. Seriously, you have no idea how long I've wanted this.
