I find it odd that a 56 year old woman beat someone up and was not arrested for it.
He got a restraining order.
We just don't have a lot of specific detail here, but Rosario and her mother (and others?) could've dealt a physical abuse that was wrong and demeaning but didn't rise to an obvious level where he had to go to the hospital or something. If he'd gone to the hospital bleeding and with fractures of course the police would look into it, but if they just slapped him and hurt him and perhaps bruised him and he left and never reported it and then later wanted to do something about it, there wouldn't be evidence to bother with a criminal investigation. In a civil case, the physical abuse is just one of the pieces of a story about mistreatment. Certainly the story COULD be made up to grab some cash, but I don't dismiss it either.
