People forget the whole phrase. It's "Great minds thing alike, but fools rarely differ."

@  Nevermore : (21 February 2019 - 08:49 PM)

The German version is very straightforward: "Two idiots, one idea."

English: "Great minds think alike".

Here's an example of a phrase that's charmingly positive in English but self-deprecating in German:

@  Xellos : (19 February 2019 - 12:37 PM)

Well, this past Christmas I did see licensed plush Transformers that went from their robot to vehicle mode by turning inside out just like popples.

@  wonko the sane? : (19 February 2019 - 12:02 PM)

Why DIDN'T transformers make plushes ala popples?

@  ▲ndrusi : (19 February 2019 - 11:04 AM)

@  Benbot : (18 February 2019 - 11:04 AM)

Does TFSource charge sales tax?

@  wonko the sane? : (18 February 2019 - 09:47 AM)

That's because, once upon a time, the people whom owned the animals weren't the people whom butchered them. So the pig was owned by a saxon who spoke english, but butchered by a french speaker. So a pig got cut up into PORC chops.

@  unluckiness : (18 February 2019 - 03:25 AM)

Hank Pym<<<< Hank Hill

@  PlutoniumBoss : (18 February 2019 - 01:28 AM)

In that case, I don't see anything wrong with English speakers calling it what it is in English. Even though we technically use the French words for what comes out of it. "Beef", "pork"...

@  Bass X0 : (17 February 2019 - 02:04 PM)

I’d like a Siege Thundercracker who has his regular blue colors Cybertronian jet mode which transforms into a robot mode with his Action Master colors. Looks like it could be possible.

Okay, so we're edging ever closer to the Quintesson reveal, right?
"He learned, almost too late, that man is a feeling creature and, because of it, the greatest in the universe. He learned, too late for himself, that men have to make their own way, to make their own mistakes. There can't be any gift of perfection from outside ourselves. And, when men seek such perfection, they find there's only death, fire, loss, disillusionment, the end of everything that's gone forward. Men have always sought an end to toil and misery. It can't be given; it has to be achieved. There is hope, but it has to come from inside, from man himself."

Well that explanation for information creep is hugging bullshit.

Meh. Why?

I'm not sure it was necessary - information creep being an inevitable effect of entropy was fine and there's plenty of established fact that Cybertronians don't remember the distant past very well. But that having had a jolt at one point in particular as part of information warfare doesn't feel especially wrong either.

Art was better this issue. It actually felt like there was a planet sized robot tearing things up. Another huge exposition dump, but I'm afraid that's kind of inevitable given the sudden move to bring the book to a close one season early. But it was far from clear if Adaptus/Pharma is actually dead, and a lot of things stop making sense if he is.

I did like that Primus always looked like Rung, and had just been mythologised.

Did...Tyrest and Adaptus just...turn into dust?  Wow.

It was...interesting, to say the least, and I chuckled at some of the character interactions, but some of this stuff just feels...kind of unnecessarily convoluted and disconnected from the narrative, I guess?

The Omega Guardians live in another dimension, talk through the Magnificence, which is Epistemus, and they want to... eat everything?  What?

Callum has suggested the distressingly plausible possibility that that's the last we're going to see of the Omega Guardian plot thread. It would be a very MTMTE thing to have the higher-dimensional cosmic manipulators defeated by just smashing the thing they're using to manipulate people.

But that would also be terrible and would make me so absurdly angry.

I think that the idea that information creep isn't natural, but instead caused by an emp blast from 10 million years ago is exceedingly stupid

No? What indications are there that Quintessons have anything to do with any of this?

There have been a lot of longstanding motifs associated with Quintessons relating to Lost Light's mytharc, and every time people's theories for what they were get disproved they move them on to the "next step up" of the mystery.

I can think of a couple ways for the Quintessons to still be involved.

The Omega Guardians used to be Quintessons before they ascended!

The Omega Guardians used proxies other than the Magnificence, including the Quintessons!

The Quintessons created the Guiding Hand in the first place!

On rare occasions, I have something to say.

It would have been better to completely leave out those go-nowhere six panels about Omega Guardians. So that means they DIDN'T find Epistemus? And... would that even matter since who gives a shit about the non-Rung GH anyway?

I suppose I can see this one. At this point it would feel like a pointless Big Reveal that exists for it's own sake rather than relating to the actual story. But. Well. Yeah.

Id much rather the lost light was fighting Unicron with everyone else then doing whatever it is youd call this issue.

The fact that they're not involved in the Unicron story but they're still fighting a giant planet-sized Transformer threat to the whole universe anyway sure is a thing that IDW editorial let happen.

I HAVE to believe that this is just another case of independent plot ideas naturally leading down to the same path, because two groups of mythological figures not actually being what people thought but still warring amongst each other in the name of Cybertronian expansion just seems WAY too coincidental.

And I still don't know what the purpose of Rung's ALTERNATE mode is. Does he have to be in that form to create Matrixes (Matrices?), but as a robot he can only cough up photonic crystals?

I fully expect Rodimus to say "Now light our darkest hour" when opening his Matrix during the final assault on Not-Primus. I wonder if Megatron will wield one, too.

This has actually come up in a few places, way back in issue 3 Skids asked Swerve about the Lost Lights mission and Swerve jokingly replied:

"We’ve got to find the 12 fragments of the Primal Key, unlock the Infinity Gate, travel sideways in time, defeat the Agents of Chaos, and restore order to the multiverse."

It's been noted these events have been happening under different names.

Also I can't help but think Roberts intended for Cyclonus to kill Whirl only, situation and emotionally reversed from how he originally fantasized.I also expected there to be some mystery to Thunderclash, like he'd be a fraud of some sort, maybe he's no different to Pharma, a living corpse being controlled by another party.

People in this issue are just standing around figuring things out and being precisely correct about their deductions.

The amount of revelations here is just overwhelming. So now the Magnificence is actually the form of Epistemus which now is possessed by Omega Guardians from the Higher Realms which just got squashed by Nickel. Sheesh.

I'm guessing Roberts had a lot of other ideas he wanted to use before the universe was to end, but it would've been better had he left them out instead of breathlessly cramming them all in.
