@  Vexwing : (22 February 2020 - 03:26 AM)

I watched L.I.L.Y.Cat on there a while back, it was surprisingly good.

@  Steevy Maximus : (21 February 2020 - 08:47 PM)

@Dekafox, no DTP, but they DO have LILY Cat ;)

@  CORVUS : (21 February 2020 - 08:46 PM)

For me, it's "chocolate therapy".

@  wonko the sane? : (21 February 2020 - 08:32 PM)

Tonight dough owns my soul.

Stupid, delicious Ben & Jerry's.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (21 February 2020 - 06:42 PM)

Ahh. I remember watching Bubblegum Crisis 2020 or whatever.

@  Dekafox : (21 February 2020 - 06:25 PM)

Next you'll say they have Dominion Tank Police and L.I.L.Y.Cat

@  NotVeryKnightly : (21 February 2020 - 06:06 PM)

Bubblegum Crisis, going by several shouts down.

harlock is on tubi as well. not dubbed though :(

@  Rhinox42 : (21 February 2020 - 01:19 PM)

Blugh, the english dub of BGC is atrocious.

@  wonko the sane? : (21 February 2020 - 07:02 AM)

I might need to update my software, or they face regional limitations, cause I found no evidence of either.

@  Steevy Maximus : (20 February 2020 - 10:31 PM)

DUDE! Starcom and COPS are on Tubi too!

@  Steevy Maximus : (20 February 2020 - 09:29 PM)

Spiffy! The english dub of Bubblegum Crisis on Tubi. It's gotten so hard to find these oldies on modern streaming services.

@  Nevermore : (20 February 2020 - 08:44 PM)

And now I know and now I know and now I know that you can hear me, know that you can hear me, know that you can hear me.

@  TheMightyMol... : (19 February 2020 - 03:53 PM)

Oh boy, here we go.

@  ▲ndrusi : (19 February 2020 - 02:34 PM)

Or do Japan's cultural values vary depending on exactly who you're trying to shut down?

@  ▲ndrusi : (19 February 2020 - 02:33 PM)

Could it be that, perhaps, these different cultural values might lead to a different approach seeming appropriate?

@  ▲ndrusi : (19 February 2020 - 02:32 PM)

Hm. Back when we were arguing about the Legends comic, I seem to recall being repeatedly told that Japan had different cultural values than the US (and therefore anyone who had a problem with anything at all was wrong to voice that opinion ever).

@  fourteenwings : (19 February 2020 - 07:23 AM)

Plus, as much as I hate to admit it, every single anime character is built to suit the audience's tastes so they buy more merch/do other things that allow $$$ to flow in the production committees direction, so the authenticity is certainly not for representation's sake.

@  fourteenwings : (19 February 2020 - 07:18 AM)

Both those anime air at midnight and are aimed at a very specific audience in a whole other media landscape. Major projects have press releases about almost everything, and there are groups just waiting to pat anybody on the back for doing what they want (GLAAD, HRC, etc)

@  B-Fox : (19 February 2020 - 03:16 AM)

It's funny that a friggin' anime about zombie idols and an anime about a school of anthropomorphic animals can have really positive trans characters WITHOUT a press release about their inclusion in the series prior to the episodes airing or having the creators announcing it on social media and patting themselves on the back for doing a thing.

@  TriBlurr : (18 February 2020 - 10:26 PM)

Vegan meat needs bacon

@  Paladin : (18 February 2020 - 08:43 PM)

vegan meat must taste delicious. they're grass-fed and regularly exercised....

@  wonko the sane? : (18 February 2020 - 06:57 PM)

Vegans are better than kids if you don't talk to them. They'll keep the lawn trimmed anyway.

@  TheMightyMol... : (18 February 2020 - 06:02 PM)

Do you want vegans? Because that's how you get vegans.

@  CORVUS : (18 February 2020 - 04:33 PM)

Hook up your sprinkler system to a canister of healthy organic carrot-juice. The kids won't be able to get off your lawn fast enough.

@  TheMightyMol... : (18 February 2020 - 03:59 PM)

Just use the hose.

@  wonko the sane? : (18 February 2020 - 03:52 PM)

Ask bing. It'll be a FAR more effective answer.

@  TrnsfrmGod : (18 February 2020 - 03:26 PM)

Google, how do I get those durned kids off my lawn?

@  TrnsfrmGod : (18 February 2020 - 03:26 PM)

Please ignore.  Old man here apparently doesn't know the difference between the "Search" field and the "Shoutbox" field.

Also doesn't know how to delete from the shoutbox

@  wonko the sane? : (18 February 2020 - 07:33 AM)

Huhn. Penny arcade was right, the division 2 is literally 3 dollars...

@  Steevy Maximus : (17 February 2020 - 11:05 PM)

Oh, Wicked Cool Toys got the Halo toy license. This is a big year for Jazwares

@  Steevy Maximus : (17 February 2020 - 07:02 PM)

iTunes/Apple TV has the complete Cowboy Bebop series for just $5!

@  fourteenwings : (17 February 2020 - 12:41 AM)

The Samsung Galaxy B-TOOM!

@  Paladin : (16 February 2020 - 07:20 PM)

business is booming.

@  wonko the sane? : (16 February 2020 - 06:49 PM)

SAmsung has you covered. Exploding phones.

@  Patch : (16 February 2020 - 05:21 PM)

Modern problems require modern solutions.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (16 February 2020 - 05:21 PM)

Japan seems to have a tradition of murder things where cellphones facilitate the killing instead. Like King's Game and Doubt.

@  TheMightyMol... : (16 February 2020 - 05:17 PM)

Or there's just conveniently no reception, or all of their phones are dead at the same time. Or they're just stupid and forget about them.

@  Patch : (16 February 2020 - 04:41 PM)

Now the slasher villain has to go and knock over the nearest cell tower before butchering horny teenagers.

The First Order will debut their latest superweapon; a giant cube.

Is it reasonable to assume that the final title and teaser trailer will be released at Celebration 2019 a week from now?

They basically said as much this week at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

Yep.

"AotC is the best Star Wars because it didn't portray the Clone Wars the way you expected it!"

The problem with the prequels has always been it's a story we know the ending to, and being blunt George Lucas failed to make the audience care about the fall of Anakin Skywalker. I've said it before, the biggest misstep was having us meet Anakin when he was a child. Anakin should have been the Han Solo-style rogue who was already an established pilot when he crossed paths with Obi-Wan and who already had some blood on his hands.  Taking us through Anakin's entire journey to adulthood was unnecessary and frankly gaffed the plot.

Though credit where it's due, Lucas tried to beat Martin to the punch in squicky relationships.

I've always maintained TLJ is going to age better than the other films in this newest trilogy simply because it dared to do what the franchise hasn't done in over thirty years and that's put the story in a place no one is equipped to say with certainty how it ends. Rian Johnson got the full force of the Star Wars fandom's ire for messing with formula after Abrams got the full force of the fandom's ire for adhering too close to formula.

That being said, TLJ was far from a flawless film and I can't disagree with Mark Hamill's frustration with how the character of Luke ultimately panned out. It makes sense from a narrative perspective in the context of the story the movie was telling, but from how we've come to understand this character in forty years of media it really was akin to hearing Peter Cullen bellow out "GIVE ME YOUR FACE!" while tearing a Decepticon in half. Luke went out spectacularly well in a blazing triumph of the adherence to the Jedi Code vs Ben's raging hate for the past and tradition, but getting to that point was painful to watch I won't deny. I don't want to ascribe directorial intent to something that might have just worked out in post, but I'd like to think making us (and the actor) uncomfortable with where Luke ended up was intention, to make us cheer all the louder when he did return to form at the end.

The Casino planet...I get it. Finn needed something to do. That sequence wasn't it. Just didn't work and I will fully admit to just skipping those scenes entirely when rewatching the film. About as interesting as the Senate deliberation scenes in the Prequels.

Ben and Rey remain the best part of the new trilogy. Where Lucas fell flat with Anakin and Padme, these movies are killing it with these two characters. Ben and Rey's team up fight isn't not going to make me bounce in my seat like a excited three year old for a long time to come. Beautifully choreographed DANCE ROUTINE turned fight, with no ridiculous over the top maneuvers.  The New Trilogy has the best Lightsaber battles of the entire franchise.

So...yeah. Episode VIII has problems, problems people deserve to voice and be legitimately bothered by (Though I continue to laugh at those who feel somehow threatened by Rey as a character). But two movies in and as pieces of entertainment, they're still head and shoulders above Lucas' prequel trilogy in terms of characters and overall story. Story pacing, however...I'll give to AotC. Every scene in AotC advances the plot, where as TLJ the war profiteering subplot just felt like Johnson was deliberately throwing out a parachute to slow the story down.

Not my feelings, but I feel this is related.

Also I agree with Rust that the Rey and Kylo versus the Praetorian Guards is one of the best (if not the best) lightsaber battles in all the films.

I disagree about that one.  It was competently filmed, but there was zero tension in that scene.  I simply didn't care what happened.  I guess the problem wasn't with the duel itself, but with the setup.

I must admit i was falling asleep and fast-forwarding by that point, so that fight was basically just "oh a thing's happening". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There's rumor that IX will have a zero-g fight on top of Kylo's spaceship, which sounds pretty neat. Always wanted to see something like that since hearing Vader's suit was made to explain him hoping between ships.

Considering my feelings for the other sequel films, I predict that this film will have some elements I really like, and some thing I don't like.

This film will have some confusing/vague world-building that will make me unsure whats happening in the film, and what these events mean in-universe. I say that because it happened in the other two (for TFA it was "who are all the factions, how do they relate to each other", for TLJ it was "Did the First Order conquer to galaxy in a day? What does the destruction of the galaxy's main governmental power mean for the rest of the galaxy? What about the members and world of the New Republic who weren't blown up by the Death Star knockoff?") My guess is for this film, it'll be questions about the First Order what they control, how they operate, and how they end up getting beaten.

Personally I find myself disappointed that the status quo of the Sequels is "the Heroic Rebels versus the Evil Empire" again. I guess they could have had another type of war, but they didn't. I get the feeling of been there, done that. There was an opportunity to do something new but they decided to play it safe.

I sure wish I hadn't misspelt my username.....

Eagerly awaiting Episode IX name, poster and maybe trailer from the SW Celebration panel at 12 today.

Loved Force Awakens, Thought Last Jedi was even better, easily one of the best SW anythings ever. Can't wait for a look at what's next.

-ZacWilliam, wish it was now, as I sit in a Drs office and wait to probably get a shot in my eye again. :p Could use the distraction...

The title and the poster is surposely been leaked online:

Possible spoiler in the video:

I cannot see ep9 being very good, simply because its coming off the back of a badly written movie that simply went nowhere, whatever plans that were in place, went out the window with Rian Johnson & KK, just as GL original outline for a sequel went out the window and the movie has to answer all of JJ mystery boxes and surpposely wrap up the Skywalker saga but I just cannot see it being good because whatever plans or outlines in place, were simply discarded. Heath Ledger's Joker was right all along:

It might be exciting but this is pretty much the most important trailer in the history of movies because its make or break for Star Wars!

I like Rose's look in the film. A little more generic, but nice.

I do wish there was a little more to Rey's outfit than a more simple and lighter version of her original, but still.

Finn has Han Solo pants.

I like Poe's outfit a lot.
