Fourth Kelvin Star Trek film by S.J. Clarkson - Pine and Hemsworth no longer on board?

I mean I'm looking forward to Quentin's take because it'll be something we haven't gotten before.
I'm sure you're not alone.
Me? I want never to have to chose between not going to see a Star Trek movie and having to sit through a Tarantino film. Can't stand anything he's done, and I don't want to be forced to find out whether he's finally able to break out of his mold just for Trek.

The other alternative is they just recast Kirk and his dad.
Hey, I hear William Shatner keeps asking to play the role again....

Would probably be an almost entirely new script since it looks like most of the plot points revolved around the Kirk family this time around.
I'm okay with that. Kirk is an archetype I'm happy to have moved past. A guy who breaks rules almost without regard to consequences, and usually gets away with it because writers say he does. We could use a lot less of that in our fiction.

He rarely break the rules in TOS, it isn't until he gets older and steals the Enterprise in the third film does he really start to get fast and loose with regulations.

Man, Star Trek 2009 just suffers from an absolute lack of logic in writing, doesn't it?
