That said, Konami is making a bunch of interesting platform synergy moves right now (console exclusives in Bomberman R, Negan from Walking Dead in Soul Caliber), and we know that Nintendo had to talk to them about bringing Snake back into the mix.

 

I'd love for Master Higgins, a representative from Catlevania (Simon or Alucard), Frogger, or Goemon to show up.

No Shante though I was hoping while I love the Castlevana music and stages but the Belmonts designs are kinda meh

 

Also there seems to be a ton of Echo fighters who else could be echoed?

Shes my last pipedream character. Well her and Waluigi. I'm still holdimg out hope that Daddy Sakurai is playing the long troll with him.

The thing is because I'm stupid and I watch Youtube videos attempting to dissect the character of Waluigi if he actually got into Smash Bros. as a playable character, it almost undermines him.  I mean, part of why I love Waluigi is because he's the one third-party Mario character that almost made good.  He'll show up in Mario-related titles, but never gets anything of his own... and because his motivation seems to be to cause chaos because if he's not happy, no one gets to be happy if anything I think I want him now as some sort of universal Stage hazard.

I'm absolutely delighted that not only is Castlevania finally getting represented, but that they went ahead and included multiple Belmonts. Simon and Richter seem like ideal choices too, so I'm loving this announcement. Alucard assist trophy is great too. About the only thing better would be if they also add Trevor and have Sypha and Grant assist trophies. 

 

As for the who else could be echo fighters? The ones that jump out to me are:

 

• Ryu -> Ken (Obvious)
• Simon/Richter -> Trevor (If they're willing to have multiple echoes)
• Olimar -> Alph (He's already there as an extra costume, just add a few gameplay tweaks)
• Mega Man -> X (The games play very differently, but I think this would work well enough within the echo fighter framework)
• Fire Emblem character -> Fire Emblem character

Okay! I have just found my reason to live. I'd already paid off my reserve. So I was getting this anyway. But this is just a nice affirmation that I did the right thing.

Simon, Pit and Mega Man are going to now be my most used amiibos. If they do 8-man melee again, I can add Link (since he was in the cartoon) and Samus (since she was in the comic).
