Over the last few months I've been seeing more and more indie comic book projects heading to Indiegogo for funding, a means of self-publishing in order to avoid having to deal with the established publishers; in a few instances, the crowd-funding push was in part to create a new indie house.
I've contributed to two that I felt were good values for the buck, the super-hero "Jawbreakers" trade (112 pages for $25, shipping included) and the first issue of a sci-fi bit called "The Ferryman" ($6 for issue #1, shipping included). I've seen a few others, but it seemed like the authors were wanting a little too much for the tiers they'd set up.
Has anyone else noticed this trend? If you have, what projects have you donated to?
