@  wonko the sane? : (08 December 2019 - 10:54 PM)

If it's seasonal affective disorder, check with your doc about vitamin D supplements.

@  Maximus Ambus : (08 December 2019 - 12:46 PM)

That's what I was thinking too, It's the christmas rush and if that's not stressful enough the cold weather can also impact mental health.

@  wonko the sane? : (08 December 2019 - 12:41 PM)

Might be a stupid question given the comment, BUT: have you done anything outside the ordinary lately? Might just be a stress reaction.

@  Maximus Ambus : (08 December 2019 - 12:29 PM)

I've experienced sleep paralysis with ghostly images and similar things in the past and can snap out of it through moving my fingers. I've definitely hallucinated before and members of both sides of the family have had similar experience, some suffered forms of mental instability in two cases schizophrenia.

@  wonko the sane? : (08 December 2019 - 10:47 AM)

So... either a hallucination or night terrors. Are you prone to this kind of thing?

@  Maximus Ambus : (07 December 2019 - 11:55 PM)

It kept repeating until I sat up.

@  Maximus Ambus : (07 December 2019 - 11:54 PM)

I've been up since three and when sheepish I was hallucinating something knocking twice against my bedroom door.

@  TheMightyMol... : (07 December 2019 - 06:58 PM)

Then repaint Apeface and Snapdragon as Transmetal Optimus Primal and Megatron. It's crazy enough to work.

@  PlutoniumBoss : (07 December 2019 - 05:32 PM)

Moral imperative.

@  Nevermore : (07 December 2019 - 05:13 PM)

Wishful thinking, rumor or leak?

@  Maximus Ambus : (07 December 2019 - 04:48 PM)

Snapdragon for Earthrise.

@  TM2-Megatron : (04 December 2019 - 10:22 PM)

Still not the weirdest thing a Nic Cage character has done in a film

@  TheMightyMol... : (04 December 2019 - 04:00 PM)

Couldn't be worse than him pissing fire as Ghost Rider.

@  Rycochet : (04 December 2019 - 03:38 PM)

The Tim Burton Superman Movie is the DC movie we deserve. It would have Nic Cage in a technosuit punching polarbears.

@  Paladin : (04 December 2019 - 02:59 PM)

Wonder Woman was great. Shazam was amazing. Aquaman... exists.

@  RichardT1977 : (04 December 2019 - 01:54 PM)

TBF, Aquaman and Shazam! were pretty good.

@  TheMightyMol... : (04 December 2019 - 01:00 PM)

Not a difficult feat.

@  Benbot : (04 December 2019 - 11:50 AM)

You just put more effort into telling a compelling story than all of WB's execs.

@  Cybersnark : (04 December 2019 - 11:41 AM)

Cue the flashback to Jonathan, reassuring a terrified child: "What you are is never as important as who you are." Cue Superman's response to Brainiac: "I already know who I am."*John Williams fanfare plays*

@  Cybersnark : (04 December 2019 - 11:38 AM)

I don't think we even really need to see Krypton. I'd start with Clark growing up in Kansas, thinking he's normal, and follow him through the development of his powers. There've been enough alternate takes on Krypton that it could actually work as a mystery; is this the pre-Crisis utopia, the sterile science world, or the relic of a fallen empire? Brainiac was there, and he tempts Clark with the knowledge of what he really is.

@  Otaku : (04 December 2019 - 11:12 AM)

First, a Krypton film, ending with baby Kal-El being found on Earth.  Then Supe's early career film, establishing his values... and if Jonothan Kent needs to die, it happens because of something like a heart attack while Clark is savnig folks on the other side of the world.  After we know Clark minimizes property damage and never kills, have Zod & Company show up and force him to make tough choices.

@  Otaku : (04 December 2019 - 11:07 AM)

Man of Steel seems like someone came up with a Superman trilogy and then the execs said "We've got to catch up to Marvel, make it one film!".  I don't mean that based on the film's actual pacing, but because various story beats make more sense to me if they weren't all squished together.

@  Cybersnark : (03 December 2019 - 07:44 PM)

I've been wanting to write a Superman movie trilogy for years; "Man of Steel" (featuring a Terminator-like Brainiac) was going to be first, with "Last Son of Krypton" (featuring the Eradicator) as the sequel and "Man of Tomorrow" (in which Luthor makes his face-heel turn) as the conclusion. Thanks to Snyder I have to re-arrange my titles.

@  Nevermore : (03 December 2019 - 06:15 PM)

I still wish "Man of Steel" had instead been an adaptation of both the John Byrne miniseries of the same name and the Jeph Loeb/Tim Sale miniseries "Superman For All Seasons".

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (03 December 2019 - 04:42 PM)

A take I just read: Man of Steel is shot with such a lack of lighting that it is easier to discern what is going on in a porn film.

@  Maximus Ambus : (03 December 2019 - 12:20 PM)

Making Soylant is harder then it looks, it's not like the movies, you have to keep whacking and hacking at the ingredient, it'll scream and fight, maybe bite but eventually it will go down.

@  Paladin : (03 December 2019 - 11:48 AM)

varies from person to person.

@  Benbot : (03 December 2019 - 11:34 AM)

It's an acquired taste

@  CORVUS : (03 December 2019 - 11:17 AM)

Soylent? Its pretty awful.

@  unluckiness : (03 December 2019 - 02:49 AM)

Depends on your denomination of Christianity

@  Patch : (02 December 2019 - 05:52 PM)

@Benbot Do they have a soy-free version? Like maybe just "Lent?"

@  Maximus Ambus : (02 December 2019 - 02:03 PM)

Just occurred to me 'Autobot' Megatron happened in Target 2006.

@  Benbot : (02 December 2019 - 11:48 AM)

have you tried Soylent? It's pretty good! https://soylent.com/

@  Paladin : (02 December 2019 - 10:01 AM)

i prefer free-range human usually. pain in the ass to hunt though...

@  TheMightyMol... : (02 December 2019 - 09:42 AM)

If your human is all bones, you may have purchased a skeleton by accident. Contact your grocer to inquire about exhange policies.

@  Maximus Ambus : (02 December 2019 - 09:31 AM)

Vegans are categorised as human therefore just fall under Soylant, they are usually all bones.

@  wonko the sane? : (01 December 2019 - 04:47 PM)

Cause... that latter one is technically all burgers anyway.

@  wonko the sane? : (01 December 2019 - 04:46 PM)

So... a burger made without meat, or a burger made with the meat taken from a vegan?

@  Maximus Ambus : (01 December 2019 - 04:22 PM)

I had a vegan burger last week, this week I'll give a vegan steak a shot.

@  wonko the sane? : (30 November 2019 - 12:37 PM)

a proper paradox would have broken the board. Nice try though.

@  Maximus Ambus : (30 November 2019 - 01:47 AM)

This shout is empty.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (30 November 2019 - 12:01 AM)

I've got the admit. tubi tv is great. It's got a lot of stuff.. Including Super Sentai.

@  Steevy Maximus : (29 November 2019 - 10:35 PM)

There is frankly no better place to (legally) find schlock on the internet for free than Tubi TV

@  Steevy Maximus : (29 November 2019 - 10:33 PM)

It's got all the graphic violence and gratuitous nudity a late 80s OVA should have.

@  Steevy Maximus : (29 November 2019 - 10:32 PM)

Available for free with ads on Tubi TV.

@  Steevy Maximus : (29 November 2019 - 10:32 PM)

It's "Goku: Midnight Eye". Originally produced in the late 80s, it apparently wasn't dubbed until the late 90s given Steve Blum was the lead.

@  wonko the sane? : (29 November 2019 - 06:38 PM)

The description makes it sound like some high grade, mid 80's shlock. Which, frankly, is my groove.

@  TheMightyMol... : (29 November 2019 - 12:37 PM)

Was wondering how long it would take someone to ask.

@  wonko the sane? : (29 November 2019 - 09:58 AM)

okay, it's been like two days so far: what anime is this, cause I'm dying to know.

@  Steevy Maximus : (27 November 2019 - 09:23 PM)

You know you're in for a good time when an old anime starts with a crime lord uses roller skates in his cybernetic legs to skate down the side of the building, launches to a dock and into a getaway boat.

I'm well past the deadline having just thought of this moments ago, but if there's more down the line I wouldn't mind doing one of these for MP3. Maybe a second catch-all entry for the rest of Admin Force as well, like the Solstar Order page in the official Sourcebooks.

Alright you artists out there, here are some characters that need some artwork.

  • General Hawk (we have the art, just need an inker and colorist for this)
  • Steel Raven (GI Joe Extreme character - reference her toy https://www.yojoe.co...teelraven.shtml )
  • Matt Trakker Sr. (MASK character intended to be "truer" to the original - no real reference material, you'd have to come up with it yourself based on some guidelines)
  • Side Burn (Transformers - mostly based on the RID guy, but feel free to take artistic liberties)

I mentioned wanting to do art this on Facebook, just now getting a real chance to look at the list.  I think I'll start with one and go from there.  If no one's claimed art duties on Gunrunner, I'd like to take a crack at him.

Seconding this. I really love all the varying designs. The mantis, the caterpillar, the cockroach, Beet-Papil. Even the silhouettes show some great options.

There's some really great stories in the profiles as well, I've got especial fondness for Q'b, the Tape Bros, and the Street Action Minicon Team.

But I feel I should point out a minor typo: In the Insecticons' profile, you've got me down as Edward by mistake.

D'oh! I blame that on me watching FMA: Brotherhood late at night when putting most of these profiles together. :)

I'll fix and update the PDF and CBZ files when I get back home. Thank you and my apologies, Edan.

Geez, so many I have in mind, mainly for a story I thought would have been an interesting future, if the current IDW continuity wasn't ending. It's basically a blend of G2's and Machine Wars' stories. Like, here's what I'd want to do and which character's I'd want to use:

A rogue group of Decepticons, turning out to be the remnants of the Predators, arrives on Earth and threatens humans. The Predators will still have Skyquake's body, as they hoped to reanimated him so they wouldn't have to stay under Overlord's rule...or something like that. Some details are still not quite worked out yet. Optimus Prime and his forces on Earth dispatch to take on these rogues, and win. They arrest them and take them in, holding them at their headquarters. The Lost Light arrives on Earth (for a reason I haven't worked out yet), and most everyone is shocked to see Megatron. At first there's panic and Megatron is almost shot, but all of the Autobots defend him, claiming he's reformed. The humans find it hard to believe, but they begrudgingly work alongside Megatron as the crew of the Lost Light help the Autobots. Megatron visits his former allies in their holding cells and at first they are excited, thinking he's there to break them out and kill all the humans and Optimus Prime. But they are shocked to find out that Megatron is not here to help them. He's here to help the Autobots, and is attempting to turn over a new leaf. They're angry, calling him a traitor to his own cause, but it's nothing he hasn't heard before. He then uses his influence and reputation to force them into helping the Autobots here on Earth with their current mission (also haven't figured this plot detail out yet). Megatron is truly attempting to earn the trust of Earth-bound Autobots and humans, but as we see over the course of the story, no matter what he does, very few actually trust him, and most of those who do are only willing to give him a surface-level amount of trust, as long as the job their doing is done. Megatron sees this, and becomes disheartened, wondering if he could ever be truly redeemed.

Meanwhile on Cybertron, Starscream is assassinated. We think he's dead at first, but it quickly becomes apparent to both the reader and Starscream that he really isn't dead, he's become a ghost! He can't interact with anybody or anything. He can't do anything. All he can do is watch his former seat of power be taken by the next ruler (whoever that is). He's of course angry at these developments, so he makes his way to the next ship leaving that's headed to/near Earth, and hops aboard, hoping someone on Earth can help him, as he believes the scientific society of Cybertron more than likely isn't going to be helpful to a ghost...

Back on Earth, another mission, comes up, and some of the Lost Light crew heads out to assist Optimus Prime. During this fight, human soldiers, because of their beliefs about Decepticons, believes one of them is attacking, and shoots him dead. Megatron sees this, and runs to his fallen soldier. He's grieved, as this loss of life was senseless, and becomes angry. Optimus talks him down enough so that they can all head back to their headquarters. Back there, this fallen Decepticon is placed with SKyquakes corpse, and everyone mostly goes back to their usual business, except Megatron, who's sulking is his quarters onboard the Lost Light. No one can talk him into coming out and helping, so they just leave him. As he continues to stay in there and think about the events that just recently transpired, he becomes more and more bitter, thinking about how the humans hate him enough that they make judgement calls based on old feelings that have been proven to not reflect the current reality. He understands why they hate him, but he can't help but be angry that they would just shoot a soldier dead just because of what they thought they saw. During that time, Starscream arrives on Earth, and searches out help in this human/Autobot base, but finds no one their can hear or see him either, although he does figure out how to interact with object enough to knock things over and move some things slightly, and just scares some soldiers. He comes across the room where SKyquake and the other dead Decepticon are being kept. He looks over their bodies and has an idea: perhaps he can possess one of them, and technically come back to life! After looking them over, he chooses Skyquake to possess...and it works. He makes his way around, stumbling into the Lost Light, freaking out a couple soldiers who saw Skyquake's dead body just walk inside the Lost Light, but they leave and don't tell anybody, thinking they could be seeing things and going crazy.

Starscream wanders the halls of the Lost Light, and finds Megatron's quarters. He enters the room, where Megatron is still sulking, and freaks the former Decepticon leader out enough that he fires a shot at Starscream, only stopping when he hears Starscream's voice come out of Skyquake. He become extremely confused, and demands to know what's happening, still pointing his at cannon at Starscream. Starscream then explains what happened to him, how he got here, and how he possessed Skyquake's body. mEgatron finds this act of using a fallen soldiers corpse disgusting at first, and demands Starscream put that body back where he found it, and leave, only offering small condolences for his untimely demise. Starscream sees the anger in Megatron is fueled by something more, and prods his former Leader to explain what's got him so worked up. Megatron refuses to tell him anything at first, but after enough prodding, he finally breaks and tells Starscream everything that has happened since arriving on Earth and up until this very point. Starscream is disgusted at what the humans did, especially considering the work he also had been putting in as Leader of Cybertron. Both of them share grievances towards their unfortunate positions on life (or death, I Starscream's case), and come to a conclusion together: Since it's clear that humans have no intention on seeing the actual attempts at redemption made by them, they decide that there can never truly be any peace in this universe with that mindset. The only way to get true peace...is through tyranny. THe only way people will stop fighting, stop killing each other, is to rid the universe of said people. Thus, Megatron decides he's done with trying to change everyone's mind. If they want to see him as the villain, fine. If that's what it takes to bring about actual change, so be it. He and Starscream then depart the Lost Light, and Megatron then scans an Earth Tank Mode, immediately reconfiguring his body in a way that resembles his G2 body (just with regular green camo instead of lime green with purple camo splotches). They immediately round up the remaining Predators, all while confused Autobots and humans are watching, and make the announcement of war. They then fire on all humans and Autobots, and a battle ensues at this Earth-bound headquarters. Megatron and Optimus Prime come to blows, with Starscream actually backing up his leader for once. The two of the actually working together, combined with Starscream now having this much more powerful body, is almost too much for Optimus, and it seems the two Decepticons will overwhelm him. Luckily, the Lost Light crew arrive back froma  smaller mission to assist, and after some heated and dramatic words exchanged between Optimus, Rodimus, and Ultra Magnus and Megatron, the Decepticons are able to make a hasty retreat. The humans and Autobots and humans are left to pcik up whatever pieces of their base that is left, and head out. They can no longer stay at this location, now that Decepticons know about it. The exchnages between Optimus, Rodimus, Ultra Magnus,a nd the rest of the LL crew and the humans shows how disappointed the Autobots are in Megatron defection back to the Decepticon side, as well as the humans claiming they knew all along that he couldn't be trusted, with a fight almost breaking out between Rodimus and some humans after the humans bad-mouth Megatron.

Only other plot idea I have for this storyline involves some scientific cult that was created by Shockwave a long time ago finding CNA from a Decepticon soldier some how and cloning it into what they believe is meant to be the future ultimate ruler of the universe and the greatest leader the Decepticons will have ever seen, even greater than Megatron. THey name this new creation...Megaplex. Megaplex restarts the war on Cybertron, with new and old Decepticons. They eventually make their way to Earth, and not only encounter Optimus Prime, but also Megatron and his new Decepticon army. Megaplex even fights Megatron to a standstill, both fighter so evenly matched, it's not very clear as to who would win. Megaplex notices in his encounters with Megatron that he feels something towards this leader. A kind of...connection. Something like a higher connection to him than just being a Decepticon. But he doesn't know why. He later ends up walking in on a meeting between these cult members that created him, but is not seen by them. He eavesdrops when he hears that they're talking about him. He finds out then that he is actually a clone (as they wouldn't have created him knowing that he's a clone. They'd program fake memories into his cerebral cortex and make it look like he was a new Cybertronian that was birthed like any other Cybertronian is). He's shocked by this revelation, but is almost completely floored by what he hears next: that he was actually cloned from a sample of Megatron's CNA. He'd realize that that is exactly why he feels some kind of connection to Megatron, because, technically, he is Megatron. This infuriates him. He leaves, but revolts against his creators, joins up with Megatron, and they fight together to win this new war for the Decepticon's side.
