I learned how to swim so I could get back to shore when I've fallen into a river.

The thing I hate is people try to force you into that umbrella when you aren't.
We do it because we remember when we were in denial too.
Careful now, I'll rip yer arms off with my BEAR arms!
Wait no, that sounds wrong.
OH GOD I MADE IT WORSE!
But in all seriousness, this reminds me of a particular Imgur comment exchange I had recently:

Furry is actually really good for self-actualization. It emphasizes building an identity that is uniquely you, defined by you and no one else. Some folk see it as an opportunity to drop whatever masks they have to wear in the greater society and just be themselves. Some create an idealized version of themselves(filtered through some critter, natch) and then use that as a goal to help transform themselves. Some use characters to explore parts of themselves they didn't know existed - I know of one artist on twitter that found out they were trans in this fashion.
The whole "be who you are, not defined by anyone else" is part of what helped make it a "safe space" for lack of a better term for LGBQT folks to discover themselves, or just straight up be themselves. Of course, it can also lead to some of that famous "furry drama" for the same reasons, especially when one side ends up being less than genuine to start with.
For me, that honestly ended up being Pony stuff. But furry was kind of a half step over from there. I'm not really deep into any big furry communities or anything, though, and of course it's only recently I've really dug into any of it at all. Furcadia doesn't even ring a bell, for instance.
Shouldn't gravity be doing something?
Of course there's a figure of Rodimus as some kind of animal girl. Why would I be surprised by this?
