My good deed has been done for a while.
I came across a kid and his dad shopping at Walmart this evening. Kid was given free run to pick out something from the meager action figure section at my local Walmart. He wanted a Transformers toy, and was desperately looking for an Optimus Prime (mostly looking at the Siege deluxe figures). Walmart actually restocked at some point with Siege Voyagers, and I pointed the toy out to them. The kid grabbed it and held it like a precious gem, clinging it to his chest. The joy in his face only faltered when he thought, briefly, that the toy didn't transform. Until I pointed out on the back that it did, indeed, transform.
I'm sure there is some commentary to be had about the fact the kid thought the figure couldn't transform, much less the fact my Walmart's spring Transformers section amounts to Studio Series Deluxe and Siege Deluxe and Voyagers.
I was planning to get Optimus, but between Toy Fair next month, the general action of the brand the last couple years, and the fact there was a kid desperately wanting an Optimus Prime...I figured I could wait.
