@  wonko the sane? : (04 August 2020 - 11:37 AM)

It's almost like all drama is just manufactured pissing contests to keep us all entertained and distracted. :p

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (04 August 2020 - 10:16 AM)

Or they could go White Ranger vs Scorpion route and have both win. ;P

@  ▲ndrusi : (04 August 2020 - 09:35 AM)

Besides, we all know the answer is nearly always "they fight to a standstill and then team up against a common enemy."

@  ▲ndrusi : (04 August 2020 - 09:29 AM)

The best way to prove this is to give an example where the match is really lopsided in favor of one character but in popularity they're either evenly matched or the weaker one is more popular.

@  ▲ndrusi : (04 August 2020 - 09:27 AM)

The "who would win in a fight" discussions are really just people trying to make "which one's better" into something you can theoretically measure objectively, usually in a very specific way they think they've predetermined their favorite will win.

@  Otaku : (04 August 2020 - 02:01 AM)

@Nevermore So... you're saying you didn't like DC Versus Marvel/Marvel Versus DC?

@  Steevy Maximus : (03 August 2020 - 06:59 PM)

So, what happened to Hasbro's Zoids relaunch? An English dub, some stuff in southeast Asia, and now a game coming in October? That it?

@  wonko the sane? : (03 August 2020 - 10:46 AM)

Tidal wave, cause shooting water gets you nowhere.

@  Darth Gonzo : (03 August 2020 - 09:57 AM)

Who would win Tidal Wave or Broadside?

@  -LittleAutob... : (03 August 2020 - 08:17 AM)

Btw Happy birthday to those people in the box to the right \o/

@  -LittleAutob... : (03 August 2020 - 08:16 AM)

The bottom line is obvious. It makes no literal sense to fight someone on your faction. :/

@  wonko the sane? : (03 August 2020 - 06:14 AM)

That's because you're doing it wrong. You're supposed to just stack skills and ability against each other. It's not the palace of doom, it's an episode of american gladiators.

@  Nevermore : (03 August 2020 - 04:32 AM)

The only obvious winners of such a fight would be the bad guys.

@  Nevermore : (03 August 2020 - 04:29 AM)

And what does it even matter? They should work together, not stupidly fight each other for the mindless entertainment of idiot onlookers.

@  Nevermore : (03 August 2020 - 04:29 AM)

Why would two good guys fight each other? What are they fighting over?

@  Nevermore : (03 August 2020 - 04:28 AM)

I never understood these "who would win in a fight between two good guys" discussions. They make no sense to me.

@  Maximus Ambus : (02 August 2020 - 04:17 PM)

If G1 had continued we'd have had Starscream back in spirit - through Krunk, Snapdragons partner and possibly Skullcruncher unless he was mute.

@  Bass X0 : (02 August 2020 - 12:28 PM)

There are some decent impersonators in fandubs though.

@  -LittleAutob... : (02 August 2020 - 10:45 AM)

The only true Starscream voices are Steve Blum and Chris Latta, hands down.

@  Sabrblade : (02 August 2020 - 10:14 AM)

Why they didn't have Scott McNeil voicing that Starscream, when he was the one who had imitated Chris Latta when he voiced Cobra Commander in the DiC G.I. Joe cartoon, is beyond me.

@  wonko the sane? : (02 August 2020 - 09:57 AM)

There are three Toys R Us stores in and around the Indianapolis area.  Of those, two are listed:  Castleton and Greenwood.  Both of these stores have Babies R Us stores near by.  It's probably a pretty good bet that its the BRUs closing in both of these locations.

In all seriousness, Man... Im incredibly bummed by this, even though it actually does not affect me directly in the slightest. I live in North Carolina, which holy-upon-holies, somehow managed to dodge the Culling completely. Theres only like 5 or 6 of them in the entire state, but still. Biggest bummination for me is the dozen or so closures in California. When I visit my family there, I tend to go TRU-hopping cus CA gets the latest and greatest TFs before NC does, and they are so plentiful as well (rare figs and TRUs). The one closest to where my family lives dodged the culling as well, so, again, doesnt really affect me except for not being able to TRU-hop, but like MSipher said, this moves us closer to a monopoly, and thousands of people losing their jobs, and yeah, less TFs in the wild. Bumming news all around.

They're closing the one in my area that's both.

Huh? There are two in Durham and one in Asheville that are closing (one of those Durham ones is closest to me).

Forgive me if this is a repeat here. I know I've said this somewhere, but it might have been on another board.

The two near-ish stores that are closing in my area are both hybrid stores. The two closest stores to me are both surviving, however. (I'm in Southern CA) And there are tons others if I want to drive a bit. Seriously, there's no CA TRU apocalypse. We'll still have lots of stores.

I'm shocked that there are none closing in Columbus (Babies R Us doesn't count).  Out of the three in central Ohio, only one is worth venturing to.

Bit of a shame the one off 15-501 is closing. Pretty sure that was the first TRU in the Triangle. It was the only TRU I remember existing when I was tiny... a mythical place visited usually only at Christmas shopping time.

Thankfully none of the ones I regularly visit are on the list. One that I've been to before, but only on the longest and most desperate of treks.

Still, this really sucks for the people employed there.

Well, yeah. The retail/service industry, in general, is a giant pile of rats' assholes for the rank-and-file working there, more or less regardless of company, for a lot of steaming reasons.

But as Bruce McCulloch once said, "the only thing worse than having a job is looking for one".

I have two stores close to me, one I never go to and the other I frequently go to because it's close to other stores, guess which one is closing? (sigh)

Granted one of those other stores is Target that almost always has better deals and inventory, but it's still a pain. Though maybe I can find something on clearance, like Trypticon or Chaos on Velocitron (slim to none I know, but I can hope).

I really enjoyed working at PetSmart. I mean, some of the customers were garbage, but that's true of any outward-facing position. The management and company were both really good.

But in the current, digitized world, trivial information is accumulating every second, preserved in all its triteness. Never fading, always accessible. Rumors about petty issues, misinterpretations, slander... All this junk data preserved in an unfiltered state, growing at an alarming rate. It will only slow down social progress, reduce the rate of evolution. You seem to think that our plan is one of censorship. What we propose to do is not to control content, but to create context.

I used to hear bad things about Petco back when I worked at PetSmart all the time, but I'm also sure that it probably has a lot to do with the individual store.
