"Oh, this is simply wonderful..!" Dee had left EB's back -as the warebunny had seemed to regain his fortitude somewhat and had made her way to the stunningly wrong mirror.
"If only my hair were still that long." Dee reached up to stroke the hair that looked to be falling down over her shoulders. The Mirror version of her did the same...

Howard flits to the table and flips through the bundles, then enfolds PoeT in a crushing bear hug. "Ah everyting mi could want." He murmurs, holding the hug for another second before bouncing back over to the others, neatly scooping Fir up in one arm along the way. "Ah suh gud to see unuh again!" He loops each person in turn into a brawny one-armed hug (while making a 'got my eyes on you' gesture to Dee's reflection). "Suh dis ah Fi-yuh -- Dem ah ah likle shy -- an dis ah grung zero, fi mi bess bredren!" The birch tree slowly reaches out a gnarled claw of a branch to each of you.

daring to take her eyes off the beautiful hair, Dee addresses Howard's indoor friends as she had his outdoor friends.
"Wonderful to meet you both." As Fir's branch touches her, Dee marvels at the sensation... having spent so long in the woods alone, it was a sudden unlooked for comfort to realize that she really hadn't ever been. Smiling at them she reaches her own finger up to touch the branch back. "Thank you." Turning to the fire - with her finger still trailing along the branch.
"Howard is a very friendly man and he has many he calls friend, but to think we would get to meet his Best friend... that is a unique gift indeed. Thank you, Ground Zero this honor alone has made this trip memorable."

Well, yeah he was, but he’d never admit it.
“I am genuinely fascinated to met all of your friends Howard.”
While the intrductions continued, Kage eyed the strange ‘alternate’ mirror with interest. Its ‘slightly off’ variations of the rooms reflected occupants intrigued him. Moreso because he couldn’t quite shake the feeling that their ‘mirror images’ weren’t just a slightly off-kilter magical image.
“You do keep yourself busy, don’t you? I kean, i’ve heard of patching people up. Judt, not quite so literally.”

The nature of the crushing hug gave the PoeT little ability to return the embrace, but neither did he protest nor resist. Afterward, stowing his staff by the door, he pulled back his hood and found a seat, watching the others with a slightly amused glimmer in his eye.

"You're still cute."
EB found himself automatically returning Howard's hug, and shaking the tree's hand. "Hi." He said simply.

Ground Zero rustles his branches, obviously pleased with himself, and Howard beams. Most of Ground Zero's introductions hadn't gone half as well as this. Maybe it was not leading with the story of how Ground Zero tried to eat him.
“You do keep yourself busy, don’t you? I kean, i’ve heard of patching people up. Judt, not quite so literally.”
Howard shrugs. "Oh, yuh know ou de stories guh. De hero leaves pon fi dem quest an quickly finds demselves unprepared fi de trials of de road. Dey pass out fram som horrible injury, den wake up inna de cottage of an eccentric medicine mon wo lives alone inna de woods. Dey patch de hero up an teach dem wat dey need to know before dey return to saving de world. Ah ah tale dats been around whole heap longa dan mi ave." He gestures at the unconscious figure lying in this bed. "Mi am sure him has som kine of magical destiny inna store, but dat will nah tap ah honey badga fram chasing yuh dung wid extreme prejudice. An mi happen to be de only eccentric medicine mon living alone inna de woods fah miles around, suh mi get aal de heroes!" His forehead creases, just a little. "Dere a mo an mo up-an-coming heroes stumbling around de woods wid fi dem guts inna fi de arms. Dere mus be whole heap of world ending dreats pon de horizon."

The PoeT, who turned and reclined sideways on the chair fishing something out of his satchel, spoke up.
He says,
"'tis always a demon cruiser or magical ray of death,
Or plague from The Pits that threatens to steal our breath.
But folks of plain birth live on their lives quite happily,
The key being that heroes allow them to live qutie ignorantly."

“Evil rises and good must answer. Though not without the welcome help of an eccentric medicine man living (not) alone in the woods,” he added with a chuckle. Although it still took Kage a few moments to wrestle the right words from Howards strong accent, he had always had a good ear for voices. So he knew that eventually, Howards odd Jamaicubean, wouldn’t seem so odd anymore.
“So then Howard, what do you have planned for us?”

"Oh right." Dee mumbles... "could you borrow me the use of a tea pot Howard?" Destron sets about pulling various pouches and pockets worth of forest goodies out.

As her bombastic father spoke up, Kage has to resist the urge to back off. This man was as loud as he was large. Instead, Kage converted his twitch into a slightly scruffy bow. Having no idea what to say after that, Kage remained silent and waited.

...to the bearyaks and held out his hands.
"I've never seen a bearyak in person. Can I pet you?" He asked them quietly.

Meanwhile, the Queen walked over and grabbed Kage by the jaw. Though this was not an attack as she looked him over like a mother might inspect a child for stains or crumbs. Then after comparing her height to his, she began to walk around him glancing at various weaponry and gadgets on his person with a harsh and judgemental eye.

So he remained (mostly) still as she, examined him. A small frown began to crease his brow as the Queen circled him with a very critical eye.

"mi ago even lend yuh fi mi fiyah." With a grin, Howard nips back inside and returns with a kettle, Fir, and a bucket of water. Through all of this, he doesn't so much as bow to get his head through the door.
