Honestly I feel like that's described the whole MP line for a while now. Like, yes, it's extremely impressive that they managed to make a toy that transforms from a cartoon accurate robot into a cartoon accurate firetruck/van/ape/etc., but no part of that statement actually implies that the end result is a visually appealing toy.
This is very good study in how some things work much better in 2D than 3D and how it's sometimes good to have the sense to adjust for the change...

They keep managing to push it further, though, and I can't tell if that's because the line is actually swinging even more horribly in that direction, or if it's just the fact that successive figures mean old records are gradually and naturally broken by chance.
Shouldn't gravity be doing something?
Of course there's a figure of Rodimus as some kind of animal girl. Why would I be surprised by this?

People always tell me that NBA players are the greatest collection of individual athletes in the world, and I totally believe it, because they play nearly the whole game and it's a high-tempo sport and it combines running and jumping and physicality, but it turns out that no matter how good they are at doing basketball, I still don't want to watch it.

Faux parts have their place - half of the movie designs wouldn't be possible without - but there's a line, and Masterpiece currently seems to be trying to get as far away from any lines as possible.
Also, to be a truly great Transformer, I feel that the transformation itself should be elegant, simple yet smart, and shouldn't involve thirty panels all folding and unfolding in a precise sequence or else the entire thing explodes in a shower of snapped plastic.

He looks really nice. But all MPM's do. He definitely doesn't seem to suffer from some of the issues that Optimus and Ironhide do. But we'll have to see how his transformation goes.
He's certainly impressive. I wonder if he's taller than Ultra Magnus or not?

That has A LOT of paint. But there's something that seems flat/not-Masterpiece about it?
Maybe it needs an ink wash or something. I dunno. It almost ends up looking like a regular toy (again, I acknowledge that there is a lot more paint on it, it just doesn't make itself apparent and/or basic).

Jazz looks nice, but I hope we get some comparisons with HA Jazz who's my favorite version of the character and will be very hard to top IMHO.

Leopard Print Prime is definitely a lesbian aunt
These are all pretty great honestly.
I'm starting to think I may have more of the MP-10 mold than the Classic Seeker mold at this rate.
Ones shown already but shown again:

I still really like that Viotech one.
After getting the KBB MP10V, though, I'm not sure I can go back to a full-size Masterpiece Prime. The Voyager-size knockoff is just right. Maybe they'll steal some of these color schemes.
