I love my Blackout. I can't wait to get the new Brawl to join him and Starscream. I'll have to see if I can dig out their Leader versions in the meantime. I REALLY hope a Voyager Bonecrusher will follow in the future. (And Movie 1 Megatron. And Barricade/Frenzy. And...)
Quick question for those who have him:
How does one transform Studio Series Bumblebee? Wait, no, that's not right. Right figure, wrong question.
I remember reading about Bumblebee's roof when he first became available. Specifically, this post about how the roof pieces aren't held together by a pin, like TLK Bumblebee's was:
Apparently they removed the pin in the roof because it was causing stress breaks. Or at least I heard that on another site.
Video reviewer baltmatrix received his Studio series Bumblebee, and it's hips and ankles were so loose and floppy, that he totally lost his shit.
Also, looks like his copy was missing some pins in the roof as well.
Somehow, I came away from this thinking that the pins were causing breaks in SS Bumblebees, so they made a last-minute decision to just not install the pins. So when my Bumblebee came and his roof was just a random stray piece that wouldn't stay connected to the rest of him, I didn't give it a second thought.
Fast forward to this week, and I finally noticed that there actually are a couple little nubs there that are supposed to hold the roof. But at least on mine, the two stubs that the roof connect to are very visibly flared outward, creating a gap between them and the roof tabs. Thus, those nubs never actually engage, and the roof is just a totally separate piece.
I know I read about Bumblebee in particular having some QC issues. Is this a common problem, or did I just get a particularly flawed figure?
