FWIW, I really like Studio Barricade, and his robot mode has a very stylish, predatory interpretation of the movie model - but his transformation is a major pain in the ass.

But he dropped off this bit of info on tfw2005 just now.
I was paged it seems
I haven't heard anything about a new 1986 devy but it's entirely possible.
If they did have plans for it I would think they would be shooting for a box set because as I understand it there's a couple more muti wave projects that they are considering before they go back to another constructicon combiner.
Junkheap - spanning two Voyager waves a one Deluxe wave - 3 bots total
Infernocus - muti wave Voyager except for the torso which I believe was rumored to be Leader.
There's suggestion that they want to try a hand at a new muti year / muti wave Dragonstorm but I haven't heard much of anything else on this one

I know we've been getting all sorts of impossible toys recently, but Voyager/Leader Infernocons would still be an amazing thing to see. All the bots look the same, combine into something that also looks the same, and there's no quirky alternate forms to add any kind of interest. I wonder if they'd go so far as to make separate left and right limbs, or if you'd be expected to just buy two Arm-Guys and Leg-Dudes.

Infernocus does look different from the Infernocons (I'm not clear on whether you were being literal, they're definitely all big lumpen black guys), but yeah. That''s...pretty believability-stretching.
I'd love that Junkheap, but I'm not holding my breath. Also it'd be a huge garbage truck.

One possibility is that, if the 86 movie is a big part of next year's Studio Series, they could simply reissue the Unite Devastator as a premium item. With minor deco changes, it would be distinct from the Combiner Wars release and be something "new" to the US market. And being more than 5 years removed from its last availability, it would likely still be cheaper than the aftermarket going rates for the set.
It might not meet "modern" expectations for a Studio Series release, but it might be a more pragmatic option than tying up 6 Voyager slots over the next 12-18 months with very similar looking toys (even though the Movie Constructicons were all construction vehicles they at least had distinctive colors).

Junkheap makes me skeptical. How the hell you gonna sell three figures that each turn into 1/3 of a garbage truck?
A Voyager Infernocon that turns into an arm, leg, and torso that you have to army-build to form Infernocus sounds a lot more plausible.

With all the 86 movie talk, hearing "Junkeap" made me think, "Why the hell would a Junkion need to be that big?"

I mean, they did Reflector.
One figure at a moderate/small pricepoint that turns into a spaceship that can also be a camera if you get three of them is a different kettle of fish to three distinct figures, two of which are at a larger pricepoint, who each turn into an incomplete vehicle, I think.
