Have they ever released other Ultra Budget toys like the soap bottlesque titan toys in Japan?Does anyone else get the sense that these are Hasbros only, with no Takara involvement? That Grimlock just feels that way.

If that Optimus is going to be 7" and it's not super herd to get a hold of, then he's definitely going to the back of my ID Optimus Prime (2016) shelf

Nope. Closest thing were some Kabaya that may have been inspired by some past figures.

New elbows? Extra paint? What is this madness? What's next - upsizing & diecast?
........aaaand I've just copped on that they ARE upsized.
Did Hasbro just Wei Jiang themselves?

I wondered that myself. It's probably a Hasbro Asia initiative like Cyber Battalion.

Someone remind me, has Takara sold small figures that went under the Hasbro label "Legion Class"? I want to say that in the case of RiD2015 and TLK, they haven't, but I have never paid much attention to Legends of Cybertron/Legends Class/Legion Class.

Yeah, they called them some variation of EZ Collection, (IIRC) more often than not.Someone remind me, has Takara sold small figures that went under the Hasbro label "Legion Class"? Lots of random store exclusives too, but I think they skipped TLK.

I bet the jerks who design elbows to bend that way are the same people responsible for all those vertical videos.
Otherwise, for literal dollar store toys they do the job well enough. I like how Grimlock's dino legs have better proportions than the PotP toy. Oh Hasbro. And all the robot heads look pretty nice.

Jerks who design elbows like that are just looking for a hug.
So when they get called "jerks", they need more hugs, and therefore design more elbows like that.

They should put the fists on at 45° in between, half-supinated, and split the difference.

Shouldn't gravity be doing something?
Of course there's a figure of Rodimus as some kind of animal girl. Why would I be surprised by this?

Have dollar store figures ever been Deluxe-sized, or is that too big for market six products?

Good question. I know those chains have carried larger products before - I remember seeing the Classics "Ultimate Battle" two-pack in at least one dollar chain - but I don't know what's been specifically marketed to them beyond the Legends and Kre-O repacks. Presumably these 7" Authentics will retail around $10 if the 4.5" ones are meant to retail at $5.

I remember purchasing Transformers Cybertron Metroplex at Family Dollar way back when. They also had Cybertron Menasor.
Any chance it was the Metroplex with Clocker bonus pack? I got Metroplex/Clocker and Megatron/Hardtop at Family Dollar for $15 each. Never saw the Optimus/Brakedown set. All of them were originally Walmart exclusives but eventually ended up at Family Dollar.
Speaking of larger toys, Dollar General also had the Energon role play toys (Megatron Energon Sword and Optimus Prime Energon Blaster) in Powerlinx Battle packaging.
