So, my local Walmart has got its new sets up for the roll out of Star Wars on Friday. One of the things I noticed was a change in the signage for Transformers. Rather than the strait "Transformers" Generations style or Robots in Disguise, it's using a different "Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye" panel, akin to to this image from SDCC:
However, the background stylings were blue, very much like the, now infamous, My Busy Book:
So my thought is this:
Perhaps the new series will be dubbed "More Than Meets The Eye", but part of a broader "Cyberverse" project, akin to how Titans Return is the second part of the "Prime Wars" overall project.
Seems peculiar to have THAT sort of specific branding when they've been content to use just "Transformers" on the prior instances of such signage, and we know those licensed projects have to be tied with SOMETHING. I'm wondering if we won't see a broad spectrum "rebrand" of Transformers after Christmas, with the launch of "Power of the Primes" and "More Than Meets The Eye" to cover for the loss of Rid and Last Knight? That would then save the fall initiatives to be focused around the Bumblebee feature (and maybe a legacy movie line that we've seen rumors about).
