@  BlackMax : (21 November 2017 - 04:53 PM)

Sweet!

@  wonko the sane? : (21 November 2017 - 08:00 AM)

Okay, that's freaky good.

@  Locoman : (20 November 2017 - 11:02 PM)

Today I learned that the credits theme from Avatar syncs up alarmingly well with the theme from Beast Wars.

@  Shrug : (20 November 2017 - 10:24 PM)

We badly want to move and completely lack the money to do so. Sigh.

@  Shrug : (20 November 2017 - 10:23 PM)

Which, the opposite side of one bathroom wall is the bedroom. The other wall has all my Transformers on the other side. And it was so bad the other day it actually stunk up the laundry room below the bathroom.

@  Shrug : (20 November 2017 - 10:21 PM)

And the smell is leaking through the bathroom. I'm guessing the vents are connected.

@  Shrug : (20 November 2017 - 10:20 PM)

Turns out they smoke. A lot. I know this because it's now cold outside and they're closing their windows.

@  Shrug : (20 November 2017 - 10:20 PM)

So, I moved to a duplex this summer. And I noticed my neighbor's kept their windows open all the time.

It's a Spider's Game over there.

@  Boomhauer : (20 November 2017 - 09:08 AM)

The best moment of the Emu War is when they brought machine guns to shoot at large groups of birds and at no point a single person in the room brought up "wait but emus are fast won't they just dodge and-"

@  Pennpenn : (20 November 2017 - 04:53 AM)

Yeah yeah, giant spiders. Look up the Great Emu War of the 1920s for instances of Australia trying to defeat it's wildlife and failing miserably.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (20 November 2017 - 03:41 AM)

Australia is still fighting their war on Giant Spiders.

@  Pennpenn : (20 November 2017 - 01:58 AM)

The queue is pretty long, and I don't think Australia is going anywhere any time soon.

@  Locoman : (19 November 2017 - 10:59 PM)

Welcome to the "political crisis" queue, here's your ticket.

@  Nevermore : (19 November 2017 - 10:20 PM)

Complicated lengthy coalition talks just failed.

@  Nevermore : (19 November 2017 - 10:20 PM)

Oh boy. Germany is in a political crisis.

@  Pennpenn : (17 November 2017 - 10:31 AM)

If you're used to doing it with tabs, that makes sense. It doesn't feel weird for me.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (17 November 2017 - 10:28 AM)

Also, it just feels weird if switching between webpages uses the same actions as switching between programs.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (17 November 2017 - 10:21 AM)

I switch between different things on the browser and click on various plugins and stuff far more often than switching from program to program.

@  Pennpenn : (17 November 2017 - 10:19 AM)

Yeah I'm mostly just venting from frustration rather than trying to convince anyone, though @NotVeryNightly I will point out that the windows for the other programs I'm running are at the bottom of the screen as well.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (17 November 2017 - 10:09 AM)

Tabs are on the top, near the address bar, browser tools, plugins and whatnot so the cursor will be there frequently anyway. Switching windows would require going down the screen.

@  Shrug : (17 November 2017 - 10:03 AM)

I mean, you do you. No bigs. You've just got a fairly unique stance that surprised me.

@  Shrug : (17 November 2017 - 09:54 AM)

I haven't seen words on the bottom bar of the screen since XP.

@  Pennpenn : (17 November 2017 - 09:13 AM)

All of which is put on the point that I don't care if people want to use tabs, I just want the option to not have them present for me on my browser.

@  Pennpenn : (17 November 2017 - 09:12 AM)

@Shrug- A quick glance at the bottom of the screen shows me what is open and where. Load times are basically so trivial that the load indicator on a tab is something I didn't notice until you mentioned it. The "which instance is playing noise" is a fair point but has basically only really been approaching meaningful for me maybe twice in all the time tabs have existed.

@  Pennpenn : (17 November 2017 - 09:07 AM)

@NotveryKnightly- I have never encountered a situation where that is true, especially given that tabs are on the other side of the screen to the other things I'm switching through.

@  Pennpenn : (17 November 2017 - 09:06 AM)

@ Nevermore- The windows at the bottom have the names of the websites on them, presuming you don't collapse them.

@  Shrug : (17 November 2017 - 08:08 AM)

Geez, this is reminding me of the awful pre-tab days.

@  Shrug : (17 November 2017 - 08:07 AM)

I can look at the tab to see if it hasn't finished loading yet. Now you can see which tab is playing sound, so no need to hunt through windows to find a video ad that started playing.

@  Shrug : (17 November 2017 - 08:07 AM)

And a quick glance lets me know whats open and where. No clicking multiple windows hunting for something. No waiting for some window preview to pop up (which wasn't available when tabs first started.)

@  NotVeryKnightly : (17 November 2017 - 06:03 AM)

Switching between tabs is way quicker than between windows.

@  Nevermore : (17 November 2017 - 04:09 AM)

It's like having a clear structore with sub-directores, instead of just having all files on your computer stored in one giant directory.

@  Nevermore : (17 November 2017 - 04:08 AM)

This way, I can switch between windows and then select the tab, instead of always trying to remember which window is for which website.

@  Nevermore : (17 November 2017 - 04:07 AM)

I find one browser window with multiple tabs a lot easier to handle alongside other windows than multiple browser windows alongside other windows.

@  Nevermore : (17 November 2017 - 04:06 AM)

I find multiple tabs a lot more comfortable than multiple windows.

@  Nevermore : (17 November 2017 - 04:06 AM)

erm... no?

@  Pennpenn : (17 November 2017 - 03:26 AM)

On mobile devices and whatever I understand why tabs would be a thing, but on a full desktop browser it's just- "Hey, here's a thing that's kind of like opening a new window, but objectively worse in every practical way"

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (17 November 2017 - 01:41 AM)

Someone remind me again: which versions of the CW Hot Spot mold did not suffer from bad hip ratcheting?

@  BlackMax : (16 November 2017 - 06:33 PM)

Holy crap I just pushed the F11 key for the first time on a keyboard since about 1994.

@  Shrug : (16 November 2017 - 01:11 PM)

tabs being wretched bs is definitely an opinion I've never seen before

@  RC85747 : (16 November 2017 - 08:25 AM)

Vivaldi lets you hide the tab bar

@  Pennpenn : (16 November 2017 - 07:45 AM)

Yeah but that gets rid of everything else as well.

Not looking good, but I'd at least like to see a nice Warrior figure for Cyclonus.  Maybe Thundercracker to finish the set.

Local TRU had Thermidor, Bludgeon and Twinferno.

Are these likely to not see US retail? Will help if I can.

Uncertain. It might become "tail end of the line" syndrome like with the final waves of the Beast Hunters assortments, which were plentiful at European retail but never materialized at US retail. Or they eventually show up one day, either at clearance chains like Ross, Marshalls, T.J. Maxx and or Five Below (like the final waves of the AOE Power Battlers, or the 2011 Reveal the Shield figures), or even at regular retail like Toys"R"Us, Walmart and Target. Nobody knows.

It's not quite on the scale of Crash Combiner Drag Strip and Wildbreak having their colours swapped, but I noticed that both pairs of Galvatronus limbs have their accents colours erroneously swapped, judging by their package art:

Spectacular attention to detail, Hasbro.

I mean, are kids going to notice? Almost certainly not. But it adds to the feel of "not even the people who work on the line are paying attention to it" late RID has been plagued with.

I'm also still baffled by why Shockdrive and Warnado appear to be Riotgear and Cyclonus's twins. Especially with Warnado's name kinda paralleling Cyclonus's...? I desperately hope all these guys (and Twinferno and the Skyhammer guys) turn up on Cybertron in the cartoon's finale for some answers...

Shockdrive and Riotgear have very very similar heads, but not identical - and at least that's Shockdrive's actual toy's head. Warnado's toy has Stormhammer's head, and his art literally just has Cyclonus' head for no reason. No changes except a couple of minor color differences whatsoever.

I doubt either of the Crash Combiner jet pairs show up in the show, but you never know.

Riotgear and Shockdrive's heads are similar enough that I was wondering if Riotgear's art might be actual show art, whilst Shockdrive's is art based on the toy's new head based on the Riotgear show art.

It's the fact that Warnado's art has that Cyclonus head that makes me question them being rando redeco nobodies - if they were just "we gotta sell a redeco of these guys", why would anyone gave bothered pasting the Cyclonus head on, when they could've just bashed out a recoloured of the Stormhammer art and matched the toy in the package better...?

Conversely, why use the one head retool to give Shockdrive a new head instead of presumbly-prominent-character Cyclonus, if it is Cyclonus, and if it's not Cyclonus then why the hell does he have Cyclonus' head?

It's possible that before being Warnado and Tornado, he was supposed to be Cyclonus, but I can't believe they'd have un-new-headed him just because they decided to change his name.

For that matter, why is Blastwave like 50% new instead of just being Megatronus with a new head? So he can be Bludgeon, even though Bludgeon's not in the show? Did they plan a Bludgeon and a Bludgeon redeco and the showrunners decided to only use the redeco? Did the showrunners come up with Blastwave and he just accidentally looked enough like Bludgeon that Hasbro decided to completely redesign him so they could redeco him as Bludgeon? Why did he have to be redesigned anyway, since he's not based on any specific previous Bludgeon?

The only thing I can come up with is that Stormhammer's head is closer to Cyclonus's than Skysledge's is to Riotgear's...?

For Bludgeon, I'd wager it's something similar to Paralon, where Hasbro did a pretool for a legacy character just because they wanted to, and then when the show independently reused the same body design, Hasbro were like "well, we've got that alternate tooling already, let's use that".

Or maybe Hasbro did the Bludgeon tooling, and then said "hey show people, give us a show character we can do with this tooling" and they replied "okay, but we can only afford to model a new head, and we're making it less skeleton-y because he needs to be a good guy."

Well, yeah, the show's head design sits in a nice grey area that's plausible as a baddie without being weird for a good guy, in contrast to the toy's straight-up skeleton face with giant fangs.

The final wave of Warriors with Bludgeon, Thermidor and Twinferno has been released pretty much everywhere at this point:
Asia (Singapore, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia), Europe (the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia), Australia, Canada... Well, everywhere except for the United States.

Regarding the Legions, the wave with Cyclonus and Heatseeker has reached a similar point, while the wave with Twinferno is only now starting to see a worldwide release.

I think the concept of being educated and being able to educate is something that more people need more of in their lives.

No, we don't all know everything but we should spread and share that what we do know.

If I'm consistently misspelling a word, I would want and expect people to correct me as should I imagine all decent people who know the value of good literacy.

Its just arrogant laziness to know you're spelling a word incorrectly and not correct yourself or ignore the advice when people do tell you how to spell a word correctly.
