Batman and Harley Quinn

My g-d, I saw it with some friends. Every time my friend's laughed, I wanted to call them traitors.
I think I liked naming the girls in Super babes (we wondered about Granny Goodness) and seeing the classic henchmen in the bar (Calendar Girl's Chippendales, the steroid girl from the farmer with mutant animals, joker's three stooges from the Creeper ep, Freeze's parka girls. Who were the two with the caramel and black stripes who gave Batman the milk? Who's henchmen were they?)
But, wow, the sex, the farting, Harley whining, Swamp Thing and the ending with the kissing? So embarrassing. Ivy's final attack on Ivy might have kinda funny but wasn't pulled off so well. The animation was quite atrocious too.
Oh good god! Even from reviews alone this sounds like another Timm trainwreck!
Bruce Timm, what the bloody hell is wrong with you?! You were so much better when had limits.
Well, I may put it on my Netflix queue, but you two just convinced me to not spend any money on it.

And hey, it seems I was right in the worst possible way.
There's apparently a scene where Harley allegedly rapes Nightwing.

...well, I was cautiously optimistic about this, but given the response here, I think I can pass.

Just spent the last half hour watching clips that people uploaded to YouTube. (Not the fairest way to judge a movie, I know...)
I won't comment on the icky parts, but some of the "funny" stuff kinda felt like Timm saw "Deadpool" and wanted to do something like that, but missed the mark. Maybe if he didn't use the TNBA actors and designs, it might've worked slightly better.

Although that just begs the question of why try so hard to make it in the style of BTAS/TNBA, get the VAs and play off that nostalgia? Timm also provides the voice of Booster Gold, is that right?
I do agree the humour, or attempts at humour miss the mark a lot of the time.

Highly disappointed in this...
If anyone touts this as a return to Bat:tas... or a celebration of Bat:tas... they are full of shit.
Pro: Kevin and Loren are still putting in A+ voice work as the Dynamic Duo
Con: The writing is so bad you'd wish they had cast new actors.
Pro: there are moments when the animation almost fools you into thinking this is a "new adventures" era episode
Con: 88% of the time, it only reaches a look that's at best slightly off model fanart quality.... while the other 10% of the time you're wondering if they lost the model sheets after JLU ended
Pro: Melissa Rauch does fine with her first outing as Harley Quinn
Con: it's too bad it was this Script she was reading from
Pro: Paget Brewster won me over as Poison Ivy ..though I still prefer her as Birdgirl.
Con: Kevin Michael Richardson is at his Kevin Michael Richardson-est as Jason Woodrue the Floronic Man...
Pro: Bruce Timm might not be any good at writing these days.. but as the voice of Booster Gold he got at least one good laugh out of me this movie.
Con: John Dimaggio might as well not have even got dressed that morning he came in to voice Swamp Thing... what a horrible waste of potential that was... my lord it's not like this was ostensibly going to be the character's first and only appearance in the Timmverse.
I don't know who this was written for. It might be time to set Timm aside and rebrand the good parts of the DCAU the Diniverse

That was, realistically, average. High hopes and aversion to subject matter are getting people bunged up, but it was still worth watching. No I certainly won't be buying it. But I'm not going to pretend there weren't some great bits, but they weren't as good enough to make me overlook the bad bits.
I would be okay with a sequel where Harley meets more of the DCAU.

Okay... so it wasn't a good batman movie.
Fun as hell, but not a good movie. The animation was pretty awesome, and the writing for the individual characters was okay IF you were just straight up writing a bio for them. They basically phoned in character interaction. There was a couple of good lines, lots of bad ones.
Basically, the entire thing is where a south park episode is sired off of a B:TAS episode. Generally a bad idea, but looked good enough to somebody to get made. I repeat: it was fun. It was fun watching these individuals desperately trying to be their characters in a broken context, but that's about it. Otherwise, it... uh, "smells like discipline.".

I thought Nightwing was involved with Starfire in this new DCAU (at least that seemed to be the case in Justice League vs Teen Titans)? So I'm guessing, whatever ambiguity about it the creators have left, this isn't really canon with the main DCAU.
