All good points. I think the lack of feedback has been an issue for a long, long time. There are so many cases of artworks getting posted and people could pop by, see it and move on without really feeling like they had anything to say.
This leads to the person seeing 300 views on their art and maybe 2 replies and thinking it's a kind of rejection or disinterest. Sadly, before the 'like' button was introduced, population in the art forum had already fallen off. I think now it might work better to see 50 likes or whatever than nothing at all. But that's just me.
Other times, some posts contained art that wasn't necessarily "Good" but users might offer feedback and suggestions on how to improve their craft and rather than take it in stride, would get defensive and stop posting.
And then the rare jewel would come in that was mindblowing and outshines everything else as professional caliber work and get 100 "OMG [X-COMPANY] HIRE THIS PERSON!"
Then there was the time that we split the forums up from a 'wip forum' to a 'completed forum' and that was a dismal mistake.
Then there was this time that our art manager designed the forums in the current state to revive it and immediately took to illness and had to back off and it's kind of been lingering ever since.
I do think the current layout of "3D and 2D art" and "Physical Art" is a good division IF there were more things posted. What I'm really thinking at this point is to compile all 3 forums back into a single art forum in which "3D/2D, Physical Art and "Questions" become tagged and it can simply be sorted that way.
It also leaves a space to re-open the Fanfic forums (much to Razorsaw's delight I"m sure) to get that ball of fiction rolling once again.
