This is stupid, beyond stupid. You have the chance to basically make your own GOTG-esque movie with the X-Men meeting the Starjammers, and expanding into THEIR space mythos like how even Thor is doing... And you want it grounded and not intergalactic? goddammit, how hugging stupid are you? You don't make a damned universe by ignoring 90% of what you have! Go all in, people will be fine with it! You don't have to keep making super-hero movies like its 2001! Just share the rights with Marvel, look at how its helped Sony with Spider-Man!
I dont think its stupid. Ans i know ill be killed for saying this but a lot of elements of the X-Men universe dont really need to be there.
If the movies are focusing on the feared and hated aspect, Id leave out aliens and space demons too unless you really find a way to tie it in.
I know BECAUSE comics, but i think the reason we keep seeing the same plot over and over again in these movies is because a lot of iconic X-Men villains are too weird, convoluted or undefined. Or not a yhread on an individual level, so we emd up with a team of antagonist nobodies.
They could have streamlined Apocalypse but they ended up doing him terribly.
But yeah. Id leave out space stuff and demons too, at least in the main films.
I wish they did Proteus. Or an X-Men movie with Omega Red and some other Russian based mutants.
