Never had any of the Masters Of The Universe toys but I did like the highly detailed and articulated look of them. I wanted Hasbro to produce an equally highly detailed and articulated range of toys based on Transformers Pretenders outer shells from the 1980s. Although they wouldn't be Pretenders with an inner transformable robot and characters like Thunderwing would have vehicle kibble but would not be able to transform.

@  Steevy Maximus : (26 June 2017 - 08:57 PM)

Still sad that Mattel didn't even take Neca up on the offer to continue the series. Supposedly, NECA initially tried to get Mattel to license the line (with Mattel's name still on it), but had to settle on "Staticion figures "

@  Dracula : (26 June 2017 - 08:04 PM)

every non-Skeletor or He-Man was like winning a battle

@  Dracula : (26 June 2017 - 08:04 PM)

it was just such a difficult line to collect!

@  Dracula : (26 June 2017 - 08:04 PM)

I still have all my 2002 MOTU figures and even though they're usually in storage I don't think I could bear to part with them

@  Echowarrior : (26 June 2017 - 08:02 PM)

Same here. The show that went with it was surprisingly good.

@  RichardT1977 : (26 June 2017 - 08:01 PM)

I totally agree with you about 2002 MotU though.

@  Rycochet : (26 June 2017 - 06:50 PM)

Because people want some approximation of the look and feel of the vintage console and playing experience? It's not like the Mini-Snes is being produced instead of these games being released on the switch VC, that'll happen eventually anyway

@  RichardT1977 : (26 June 2017 - 06:39 PM)

Sega did it with some of their Genesis titles for the PS3 and XBox 360, and Midway did the same. Several times.

@  RichardT1977 : (26 June 2017 - 06:39 PM)

Instead of making classic consoles with classic games built in, why not release those games in classic sets for the Switch?

@  Rycochet : (26 June 2017 - 06:25 PM)

The fate of 2002 MOTU still makes me sad, I loved that line.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (26 June 2017 - 05:59 PM)

Bah. There are many many toys rarer than Movieverse toys. Any character that wasn't He-Man or Skeletor for instance! :)

@  Paladin : (26 June 2017 - 05:16 PM)

Nintendo consoles are the only things rarer than new waves of Movieverse toys.

@  Telly : (26 June 2017 - 04:12 PM)

*nevermind*

@  TM2-Megatron : (26 June 2017 - 03:48 PM)

Nintendo claims they'll be producing "significantly more" units of the SNES, so maybe there's a chance. It'd be better this time if they just took pre-orders, and based their production on that

@  Dracula : (26 June 2017 - 03:46 PM)

Nobody is getting that.

@  Bass X0 : (26 June 2017 - 03:10 PM)

Anyone getting the SNES Classic with StarFox 2?

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (26 June 2017 - 09:52 AM)

I have yet to see any TR wave 5 items at retail in my area, only in Internet reports from overseas.

@  unluckiness : (26 June 2017 - 09:28 AM)

They're clogging shelves here, which is odd. I expected the Generations toys to be somewhat cut down in favor of movie stuff.

@  Pennpenn : (26 June 2017 - 08:11 AM)

I dunno, I got a bunch of "Blitzwing and Octone cosplaying as Megatron and Optimus Prime" in my local TRU, does that help?

@  Paladin : (26 June 2017 - 07:52 AM)

so will TitanReturns Blitzwing & Octone ever actually come out or have they just vanished into neverland?

@  Dekafox : (26 June 2017 - 07:10 AM)

With explosions instead of pouches and pockets.

@  Nevermore : (26 June 2017 - 02:45 AM)

Michael Bay is the Rob Liefeld of the movie industry.

I took a mega-deuce once. It was quite the epic battle.

@  TheMightyMol... : (26 June 2017 - 02:01 AM)

Now if we could explode Justin Bieber, I might pay to watch it.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (25 June 2017 - 11:47 PM)

Bieber isn't nearly as over-the-top as explosions director.

@  Bass X0 : (25 June 2017 - 11:35 PM)

Michael Bay is Justin Bieber of the movie industry- everyone makes fun out of his over- the- top -style but he keeps pulling in huge amounts of money

@  Paladin : (25 June 2017 - 06:57 AM)

nobody here has moved past Wave 1. maybe if they hadn't crammed it with repaints....

@  Noideaforaname : (25 June 2017 - 06:46 AM)

Nitro's gonna be a pain in the butt to find, isn't he?

@  Pennpenn : (25 June 2017 - 03:51 AM)

Actually, on the subject of TLK toys, the voyager Nitro Zues or whatver looks pretty good. If I see it cheap I might give it to the Thunderwing head.

@  Pennpenn : (24 June 2017 - 09:58 PM)

Been playing a bit of Saints Row 4 and honestly the Blast Blast is hilariously overpowered.

@  Rycochet : (24 June 2017 - 05:28 PM)

And a better headsculpt.

@  unluckiness : (24 June 2017 - 05:23 PM)

It actually has half decent gimmicks too.

@  TheMightyMol... : (24 June 2017 - 04:03 PM)

It's still crap but at least it takes up less space.

@  Rycochet : (24 June 2017 - 10:31 AM)

I'd rather have Armada Sideswipe than Alternator Sideswipe.

I mentioned Hot Rod in particular because the "french accent" thing indicates he at least for sure has dialogue, which not every TF might.

Apparently humans are using ED-209 to battle TFs.

Can't listen to anything at work, anyone reckon they can, uh, earball the voice from the trailer as being Gemma Chan? That'd be an easy test.

It sounds sufficiently like Gemma Chan to me.

No credit for Winston Churchill though? Michael Bay said he would be a "big hero" in it...

Man, I like Jess Harnell and all, but I wish Keith David would get to play Barricade out of some video games.

Maybe they'd let him emote, too. I love the guy but his voice in the 07 game sounds like they just went with his first read.

I'm intrigued by the suggestion that Quintessa isn't a voice role. Guess we're looking at a pretty humanoid alien.

I hope not. If we get a Quintesson in the movie, we might actually get a toy of them. So it would be really good if they at least somewhat resemble the five-faced slime of the nebula.

The three things that are bugging me about this film are:

1: Humanity is butchering all Transformers again because 'hey they all deserve it' apparently.

2: if the Dinobots get slaughtered by angry humans then (to me) it feels like a farce even introducing them in AOE.

3: The 'only one world will survive' setup. I mean, possibly evil controlled Optimus attempts to save Cybertron at the cost of Earth. Earth will win obviously.

I know some of that sounds really harsh. I'm not trying to be. It will be interesting to see where they are going with the mythology. However, i guess i've just had enough of humanity hates all TFs, up to and including all the ones who've died trying to save them.

This will be our first sign as to if that writer's room amounts to anything. I share a lot of your concerns, especially since every movie they cut the trailers a certain way and insist the film will have all this lore and character development and instead we just get the same movie reheated yet again.

The catch 22 is they have 4 movies of saying that what Bay does is hugely successful. As a concept the writer's room offers hope but it's not like this is a case like the DC movies where they had to change tactics because the movies were bombing. TF movies make crazy money and the majority of people paying it don't think too hard about the films until the next one pops up three years later.

I don't expect any real significant quality swing until such time as the films start bombing and they have to actually really put work in. And with AOE showing Bay is totally happy to obnoxiously whore these films out to an emerging global super economy, I doubt that will be on the table anytime soon.

Given that the anti-Transformers unit in this film includes goodies like Lennox, I have to assume they're a "stop Transformer attacks" team rather than a "hunt down and execute Transformers" team. Like, Grimlock might've gone and wrecked a bunch of stuff like a big numpty and that's why they've gone to take him down, that kind of thing.

Honestly, the simple fact that this film is actively continuing plot threads established in the previous one gives me a lot of hope for the storytelling.
