Shockwave did it.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (30 May 2020 - 12:21 AM)

I'm not in the US and at least some of the episodes seem to work for me. I don't know the actual list of places it's available, though.

@  Shockwave 75 : (29 May 2020 - 10:37 PM)

Unfortunately It seems Cyberverse is only available in the US on YouTube.

@  -LittleAutob... : (29 May 2020 - 09:19 AM)

Yes, and its ongoing.

@  NotVeryKnightly : (29 May 2020 - 01:05 AM)

Cyberverse is already officially uploaded to YouTube.

@  fourteenwings : (29 May 2020 - 12:36 AM)

Spin Master is abridging current episodes of Bakugan Armored Alliance and posting the result on YouTube. Maybe Hasbro does that someday too.

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 May 2020 - 10:59 PM)

I see... :/

@  wonko the sane? : (28 May 2020 - 08:14 PM)

Within the US anyway. Those channels aren't easy or cheap to access in other countries, and their website often region lock content. Tubi is the only good thing on that list: largely identical (but not perfectly so. Damnit. I wanna watch COPS.) country to country and free.

@  Steevy Maximus : (28 May 2020 - 07:24 PM)

So yeah, Hasbro is using plenty of venues to spread exposure of their brands

@  Steevy Maximus : (28 May 2020 - 07:23 PM)

Starz currently licenses Transformers G1 and the GI Joe movie (as well as MLP specials). Netflix has more current series available.

Study shows: Holders of the title "world's oldest person" have a severely increased risk of dying.

@  Steevy Maximus : (28 May 2020 - 07:18 PM)

Tubi TV and Youtube both host various Hasbro cartoons. Both are freely accessed and ad supported. Any basic TV package (barring straight antenna) includes channels like USA Network, SyFy and FX, all of which regularly air the films from Transformers and GI Joe.

@  wonko the sane? : (28 May 2020 - 06:18 PM)

I dunno what to tell you, media might be changing slowly, but at least it's still accessible. Even the folks that DON'T get one of the streaming services can watch it on the company website. It's a vehicle for the toy line after all, they need to make an effort to make it as consumable as possible.

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 May 2020 - 05:41 PM)

Well. Thats said, then.... I guess... :doh

@  wonko the sane? : (28 May 2020 - 04:13 PM)

As long as the the cartoons are profitable, then they'll make more. The media it's shown on is completely irrelevant. I say that as a guy whose earliest surviving memory is a big red truck turning into a big red robot.

@  ZakuConvoy : (28 May 2020 - 03:06 PM)

Might be the end of an era. With the rise of streaming, who knows if Transformers will ever be on broadcast TV again.

@  -LittleAutob... : (28 May 2020 - 11:46 AM)

3 seasons on a show is usually enough... but yeah ;-;

@  Roddie Luver : (27 May 2020 - 09:37 PM)

I’m also sad Cyberverse has no season four.

@  Steevy Maximus : (25 May 2020 - 01:37 PM)

I'm actually sad Cyberverse won't get another season. 2 and 3 (of what I've seen) have REALLY nailed it in being fun little actions shows, like the Sunbow series.

@  Rycochet : (25 May 2020 - 01:00 PM)

Yes.

@  Maximus Ambus : (25 May 2020 - 12:52 PM)

I'm waiting for Animated season 4. Am I insane?

I'm waiting for the next season to show up on netflix.

@  Sabrblade : (25 May 2020 - 10:59 AM)

@  Bass X0 : (25 May 2020 - 01:28 AM)

Already seen it online.

Who's excited for tomorrow? The only thing that makes Monday worth it is the Cyberverse episodes .-.

Welcome. I just came into that trick myself recently, so happy to share.

I'm really glad they made the three actual individual characters as opposed to three interchangeable copies. That is literally not how identical twin (and beyond.) work.

The thing is, Quack Pack did the same thing with making Huey, Dewey, and Louie aged up to teens, but unlike here, their voices in that show were age appropriate.

I think the concept of being educated and being able to educate is something that more people need more of in their lives.

No, we don't all know everything but we should spread and share that what we do know.

If I'm consistently misspelling a word, I would want and expect people to correct me as should I imagine all decent people who know the value of good literacy.

Its just arrogant laziness to know you're spelling a word incorrectly and not correct yourself or ignore the advice when people do tell you how to spell a word correctly.

The most stand out change to me is Webby is no longer the sickeningly cute girly girl. Also interested in seeing if Donald is a legit adventurer or, as trailer suggests, his bumbling has been misinterpreted.

Those are in no way my nephews. That said, wow. Wow to everything.

I was worried about Tennant as Scrooge, but one Barks quote and he'd won me over.

Loved hearing Donald described as a great adventurer. That vast gulf between the Mickey and Donald of Disney's shorts and the heroic adventurers of Barks, Gottfredson etc has always fascinated me.

This is not the DuckTales I'd make, but man will I watch it.

If I had one complaint, it's the animation feels cheap - but I feel that way about ALL modern cartoons. Even not so modern ones...I recall being put off by the animation quality of Power Puff Girls and Samurai Jack.

Absolutely. Has a real low rent feel to it, but that comes with the territory a lot nowadays. At least it's not an ugly CGI look.

The voice actress doing Webby comes off as a poor woman's Kristen Schaal. Otherwise the cast is... okayish. I love Beck Bennett and Bobby Moynihan on SNL. Not crazy about Scrooge, feels rather boring. The complaints about the boys sounding too adult is valid yet for some reason I feel I can easily live with it.

Curious about the music. I'll be impressed if they can come up with anything that can even remotely hold a candle to Ron Jones' score. And now I'm really curious to see who they get for the villains. At 1:14 you can briefly see Flintheart Glomgold (a rather hefty Glomgold)

Oh well, worst case scenario if this blows chunks I can happily revisit my original DVDs. They hold up very well.

Hopefully, we get a few new Barks/Rosa comic adaptations out of this.  I realize Rosa always had a...less than positive outlook on the original cartoon, but it would still be neat to get a "Life and Times" adaptation out of this.

I really love the simplified beak designs they've come up with. There's a lot less going on, but it still gets the whole architecture across.

I think the animation looks very good, so I'm not seeing the "simple" and "cheap" that some of you guys are.  Maybe it's because I've only viewed it on the small screen of my phone.

To me it looks very inspired by the comics. It's simple but not the overplayed "Let's rip off Adventure Time/your grade school doodles" look most shows are now going for, thankfully.

If you look very carefully you can also see Ms. Beakley and Flintheart Glomgold in the trailer.  Looks like for Glomgold they are going to be sticking with his TV redesign that was used in Ducktales, he has the kilt, so he will likely not be a Boer. Guessing Beakley is already working for Scrooge at the start going from the tiny shot she's in.

Very happy with what I am seeing here, we did hear that they were going to go for even more influence from the comics, and this trailer really supports that, especially with Donald's bigger role.  I wonder how much of Scrooge's backstory they will use, I have doubts that his robber baron history will be included, that may be a bit too much.

Also I do like the style.  it has a comic book, stylized feel to it, which makes it really stand out.  Voices don't bug me at all either, with Scrooge being pretty much perfect.

I've never read the comics and haven't seen the original cartoon in years.  But this all seems very appealing to me.  I particularly like the triplets being distinct characters.  And it's always a pleasure to hear David Tennant's voice.

It's okay to mark out over Tennant as Scrooge.  Just in that clip alone he sold it.   At least for me.

That accent could make the phone book interesting.

No, No no no no no. Magica needs someone with a bit of class, wit, and insane charisma. In short, I feel that Michelle Gomez would be a better fit. If you're gonna have one the Doctor as one of the heroes, you might as well cast one of the Masters as a villain, and Missy has way too fun a personality to pass up a chance to not have her go up against Tennant/Scrooge.

Tate, as much as I love Donna, would probably do better as like Ma Beagle.

Nah. It's just a hype tactic. Pretty much same as announcements of Fant4stic Four 2, Suicide Squad 2 while part 1 of those were flopping. (Not saying new DuckTales is flopping already, just that the goal is to make you think it's so good that you absolutely need to watch it)

You don't think it's possible for a studio to have faith in something that actually turns out not to be as popular as they thought it was going to be?

Seems like a lot of Donald over Launchpad. Can't take the regular voices of the triplets too.

Well, keeping in mind that Launchpad original role was to serve as Donald surrogate (because they couldn't use Donald Duck on a regular basis), it was already a given that the balance would have to shift compared to the original version.

EDIT: There's some debate as to whether they COULDN'T use Donald more. Here's a bit from TV Tropes as to the speculation:

Was there a particular reason for the writers to put Donald Duck on a bus as soon as possible?

  • Probably because of Donald's popularity and seniority in the animation department. If he was a regular character he might have upstaged Scrooge.
  • He's also The Unintelligible, a problem that doesn't exist in the comics. Note that some of the comic book stories were adapted into episodes, and instead of bringing him back for those (he did make occasional guest appearances) his role was filled by Launchpad or Fenton.
  • Another possible reason is that Clarence Nash, the man who had provided the distinctive voice of Donald since his first animated short, had died in 1985. Ducktales was the first time Nash's successor, Tony Anselmo, voiced Donald. Maybe the people at Disney weren't yet sure whether Anselmo could carry the role when Ducktales went into production, and thus minimized Donald's part in case Anselmo sounded "wrong"?
  • One explanation I've read says that licensing issues were at play. If Donald were the star/had a major role, then all Donald toys and merchandise would have had to have been branded Duck Tales for some length of time, even if the show turned out to be a flop. Disney, the story goes, didn't want to take that chance and so Launchpad was created to fill that part.

Can I just say how much I love this idea? Really not trying to make some weird magic pun, but Michelle Gomez is absolutely enchanting. We've seen her spin being wicked into something that captivates, we know she can do it. I endorse this, I endorses it good.

With Disney money to throw at this thing, there is no ceiling. I'd love to have Tate show up, as well.

That trailer has energized me, this looks terrific.

Yes. Your idea is superior to mine.

Also I really hope this is successful and is used for a backdoor relaunch of Darkwing Duck.
