So Marvels been spilling the beans pretty early about their post X-men vs.Inhumans plan a bit. I'd say we are in for a revamp of the entire line since we now have quite a few titles titles. Some that are really calling back to the 90's era of the series.
X-men Blue
X-men Gold
Generation X (Jubilee confirmed!)
Cable
Weapon X
and a few new solo titles for some characters who have never really had a solo series before
Jean Grey
Iceman
Now how the older titles will become is up in the air yet. The Blue and Gold series are supposed to be returning to more of a Superheroic feel in a world that hates and fears them and less the end is nigh for Mutantkind like its been for a decade. Gen X is presumedly our new school title with Jubilee featuring somehow (teaching would be soooo weird). No word on how Cables going to be but Weapon X has been billed as to the hardcore, jive is going to fly title.
Jean and Iceman however are the titles catering to certain crowds. Jean will most likely become the strong female lead title and I'm absolutely cool with that. Jean has long been the uber powerful character in the x-men only to get fridged to take it back down a peg. Now hopefully this is still the young Jean in the modern era which I do enjoy having around but given the ResurrXion tag line, older Jean coming back from the white hot room seems possible.
Iceman however will probably be the comic catering to the LBGT community with his retconned new status as being gay. And otherwise I'm cool with the fact Bobby is getting a solo series. Jean and Him were the only 2 of the original team never to get any solo focus I believe. I'm still not cool with the retcon though. If it was just the younger Bobby discovering something in the new current era I'd be more apt to go with it, but to force it onto the original Bobby who's been through relationship after relationship and had issues with Northstar being around, it's just not sitting well with me. Still it's also not determined whether the title is focused on the older or younger Bobby, for all we know currently it's going to be both which would be a weirdly interesting dynamic. I'm beginning to think the original 5 that Older Beast ripped from their past has set a different timeline in motion from the 616 and thus the reason they can't go back is that the 616 timeline is somehow already set somehow and that their time has divergerged onto it's own path and somehow the time travel conventions they have normally used isn't working. Plus there is the Secret Wars and the multiversal splintering and reconverging... anyways gone off on a tangent..
So what do you guys think of the ResurrXion news?
