@  wonko the sane? : (12 December 2017 - 01:55 PM)

But a stuffed monkey in a little suit would be adorablooohhh I get it now.

@  Paladin : (12 December 2017 - 11:21 AM)

knowing the people behind it, the Obama stuffed animal would probably be a monkey.

@  Pennpenn : (12 December 2017 - 06:43 AM)

The only thing that would make that even dumber would be if there had been some "Obama bear" made at some point and Trump had made a tweet scorning it.

@  Steevy Maximus : (12 December 2017 - 12:14 AM)

Just look up the horror of "Trumpy Bear"

@  Steevy Maximus : (12 December 2017 - 12:14 AM)

$40 for a teddy bear with Trump's "trademark hair". Can't stop milking his image even in office...

@  BlackMax : (08 December 2017 - 06:30 PM)

@  Shrug : (08 December 2017 - 02:16 PM)

But why male models?

This is what I'm saying.

....Can a word really be a portmanteau of itself?

@  RichardT1977 : (08 December 2017 - 10:03 AM)

And was "fowl" supposed to be a portmanteau of "fowl" and "owl"? Because...

@  MEDdMI : (08 December 2017 - 09:04 AM)

@Patchouli Norman...? *looks up pics* HAHAHAHAA yessssss!!! :D

@  TheMightyMol... : (08 December 2017 - 01:10 AM)

Fowl, actually.

@  RichardT1977 : (07 December 2017 - 11:33 PM)

Back to Mighty Max: Am I the only one who thought at first that Virgil was an owl until someone said otherwise?

@  RichardT1977 : (07 December 2017 - 11:29 PM)

(N/M, it was Gary Chalk)

@  Echowarrior : (07 December 2017 - 08:45 PM)

I second that Exosquad revival. It had awesome toys and the VAs are all still alive...so far as I know.

@  Patchouli Kn... : (07 December 2017 - 07:25 PM)

Also, can confirm that Allspark user TheMightyMollusk is the real-life counterpart of Norman

@  Patchouli Kn... : (07 December 2017 - 07:16 PM)

The Mighty Max intro theme was rad as hell

@  RichardT1977 : (07 December 2017 - 06:17 PM)

So, syndicated stuff that Rob Paulsen did in the 90s isn't going to DVD, huh?

@  D.M : (07 December 2017 - 05:40 PM)

Yeah, whatever is going on with Mighty Max? They haven't even reran it after its original run (unlike, for example, The Mask which too awaits a DVD release).

@  Vexwing : (07 December 2017 - 03:56 PM)

I just want 90's nostalgia to progress to the point someone finally releases Mighty Max on DVD.

@  Dekafox : (07 December 2017 - 03:11 PM)

Maybe someone will revive Exosquad and finally resolve that ending cliffhanger

@  TheMightyMol... : (07 December 2017 - 02:21 PM)

I'm waiting for 90s nostalgia to hit the point that someone tries to bring back Extreme Dinosaurs.

@  Locoman : (07 December 2017 - 01:41 PM)

You know you're really scraping the bottom of the barrel of 80's nostalgia when you're trying to bring back the Sectaurs, of all things....

@  Shrug : (07 December 2017 - 08:17 AM)

Wowza. I haven't played any kind of 3D video game with those third person conversations for some time. They look super awkward once you're not used to them.

@  Waspinator : (06 December 2017 - 04:48 AM)

And the award for best title drop goes to.

@  TheMightyMol... : (06 December 2017 - 01:09 AM)

Epic Mickey: Backstroke of the West.

@  Locoman : (05 December 2017 - 11:32 PM)

Pete has come himself! Okay! Then I shall get Pete to fight me! Heh heh huh!

@  Jetstream C-18 : (05 December 2017 - 09:37 PM)

Something strange has happened! Now there are TWO Mickey Mice!

@  Jetstream C-18 : (05 December 2017 - 09:36 PM)

Wait. Fox owns Star TV? As in the Star TV that aired the Omni dubs?

@  Shrug : (05 December 2017 - 09:33 PM)

Long ago in a distant land, I, Mickey, the shape shifting master of darkness, unleashed an unspeakable evil. But a foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. Before the final blow was struck, I tore open a portal in time, and flung him into the future where my evil is law. Now the fool seeks to return to the past and undo the future that is Mouse.

@  ZakuConvoy : (05 December 2017 - 09:11 PM)

Who's the master of the Earth and all that he surveys? M-I-C...

@  Echowarrior : (05 December 2017 - 07:58 PM)

They'll never own the Green Bay Packers.

@  Locoman : (05 December 2017 - 07:17 PM)

Soon Disney will own every franchise on Earth, but on the plus side maybe we'll get to see Homer and Zoidberg in the next Kingdom Hearts game.

@  TheMightyMol... : (05 December 2017 - 06:02 PM)

Every Movie Thread Ever, go!

@  Pennpenn : (05 December 2017 - 04:20 PM)

I probably could have tolerated the explosions and scrap metal bots if the main human character's initial set up hadn't been "pointless white male teen pathetically trying to get his leg over an attractive girl". The universe never needed more of that kind of thing.

@  Bass X0 : (05 December 2017 - 02:58 PM)

Can't a man block it out?

The UK trailer has a couple more shots.

So I guess they are going for an R-rating with this, considering that his claws are never shown with an exit wound in the PG-13 versions.

Yeah, we've known the villains were Donald Pearce and the Reavers for a week or two now.

-ZacWilliam, they were big in the era of Xmen and Wolvie I came in on so I've got some nostalgia there...

I'm ready for this. I thought "The Wolverine" was some of the "truest" Wolverine stuff on film, and unlike the misgivings I had with Deadpool early on when they boasted about their R rating, this doesn't concern me. It seems right, a true way to send the character off.

And it's so SOON, too! More and more I find films seem like they're creeping up on me.

So, they rewrote the dark future in Days of Future Past only to give us a slightly brighter future where Mutants have apparently all been systematically hunted down?

That's why it's a shame that Patrick Stewart is in this one. It makes sense for Wolverine to see the world see-saw from tolerable to dystopian several times over, but this means Xavier lives long enough (and if I may take a guess from the trailer, JUST long enough) to see his dream turn to shit.

What I find confusing is that according to the official synopsis, this is set in 2024, just a year after the new sunshine 'n' roses future from DOFP?

If it was, like, 2027, you'd say "okay, well, they just picked ten years into the future and didn't really think about it", but the only way you get to 2024 is "one year after DOFP".

I'm just gonna assume this is not in direct continuity with that ending. Those guys lived happily ever after in whatever future the ongoing "present day" xmen movies create. This is the shitty Elseworlds future done for effect but not binding on the actual future films.

-ZacWilliam, maybe they'll shove in some time travel at the end. Send X23 back to the past, get Laura in the present day films and negate this future at the same time.

The official synopsis almost has to be a mistake, given Xavier's age.

And things may not be as horrible as they look; X-23's presence could suggest that mutants are making a resurgence.

As someone who hasn't seen an X-Men movie since the first (though I've wanted to watch Deadpool) and therefore doesn't care about continuity, this looks heartwrenching enough I really want to see it.

Plus I'm a sucker for Johnny Cash.

Little comfort for the wholesale slaughter of mutants that they painstakingly revived in DoFP.

That's my main gripe with the X Franchise in general. There's so many characters that ultimately they all feel disposable. I mean, First Class revived my hopes for the franchise...then DoFP killed off the bulk of the cast between movies. It'd be nice if the X-Franchise actually treated more then Wolverine, Professor X, and Magneto with some respect.

I'm also curious, now that they stupidly married the perfect soft reset with First Class with the old X-Films, how McAvoy and Fassbender turn into Stewart and McKellen with now a single movie separating them with the original X-Men movie.

I'd say the more important question is how X and Magneto fail to age at all over the twenty-year span of the "second trilogy".

Do we actually know anything about their plans for another non-spinoff X-Men film? Because the "Big Three" from First Class onwards are all out of contract now, aren't they?

Patrick Stewart hasn't aged in twenty years, so that one's pretty easy.
