1) I don't have Target. 2) can't go into my walmart. I'm surprised Hasbro won't sell the toys on Pulse

@  Bass X0 : (24 January 2020 - 02:43 PM)

I dreamt my phone was ringing and woke up to answer it.

@  Sabrblade : (24 January 2020 - 02:05 PM)

The Lightning Collection figures, the smaller normal-sized Beast Morphers Ranger/enemy/Beast-Bot figures, the role-play morpher and weapon toys, and the simplistic non-combining megazord toys have all been very easy to find at various Targets and Walmarts. It's only been the actual combining Beast Morphers zord toys (which are bizarrely being sold individually this time) that have been hard to find in stores.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (24 January 2020 - 01:49 PM)

Thought I do question Hasbro's almost reluctance to have the toys available anywhere.

@  Paladin : (24 January 2020 - 01:44 PM)

i've been trying to sell mine for weeks...

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (24 January 2020 - 01:37 PM)

I hadn't opened mine yet, but from what I've seen, the general agreement is that the Beast Morpher zords are much better than Bandais.

@  ThunderWear : (24 January 2020 - 11:16 AM)

I'm guessing if they're going to do anything on the level of Legacy Zords, it's being discussed behind NDAs at Toy Fair

@  Rodimus Supreme : (24 January 2020 - 10:38 AM)

Lightning Collection is good, and they're taking their sweet time on making Zords that are better than Bandai's Zords.

@  ThunderWear : (24 January 2020 - 10:34 AM)

So, what's the general PR fandom consensus of the Hasbro run of PR so far? I pretty much stepped out of the community after I got the Bandai Legacy zords I wanted.

@  Paladin : (24 January 2020 - 08:46 AM)

that would require someone to BUY Hasbro PR toys...

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (24 January 2020 - 07:17 AM)

Well hopefully see some cool PR stuff. Wish BBTS sold Hasbro PR toys.

@  fourteenwings : (24 January 2020 - 07:01 AM)

February 22nd through 25th, I feel like it was earlier last year...

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (24 January 2020 - 06:32 AM)

When is NY TF?

@  fourteenwings : (23 January 2020 - 11:43 PM)

I don't know about Hasbro's general policy but I know everybody was on lockdown for Frozen II, which included both LEGO and Hasbro. Plus, I'm guessing everybody is holding off PR for NY Toy Fair? Overall, it's best to remember that Toy Fairs are for buyers, not fans.

@  fourteenwings : (23 January 2020 - 11:41 PM)

LEGO has been doing this for ages, including sending cease and desists when outlets get leaked images.

@  ThunderWear : (23 January 2020 - 10:42 PM)

And then they ended up selling off the brand, so I guess I wasn't the only one.

@  ThunderWear : (23 January 2020 - 10:41 PM)

Last time a toy brand I followed tightened down on toy fair and all the invited guests posted glowing reviews of what they saw, I ended up being disappointed as heck.

@  Steevy Maximus : (23 January 2020 - 10:34 PM)

JediNews UK basically said they got a walkthrough of Lego's showcase...but were legally bound to NOT talk about anything, much less take pics.

@  ThunderWear : (23 January 2020 - 10:24 PM)

I wondered why I had seen basically nothing newsworthy from the event

@  Steevy Maximus : (23 January 2020 - 10:14 PM)

Word is that Hasbro and Lego have their UK Toy Fair stuff on MAJOR lockdown. Full NDAs and everything.

@  ThunderWear : (23 January 2020 - 09:28 PM)

Seeing people say the $0.99 + $20 shipping item is cheaper than the $19.99 + free shipping item and getting tons of likes for it... I just don't know anymore.

@  Telly : (23 January 2020 - 09:11 PM)

if you havent already, y'all check your walmarts clearance aisle. i found siege six shot for $5. course, it could just be my walmart, but never hurts to look

@  TheMightyMol... : (22 January 2020 - 06:58 PM)

Bold of you all to assume we won't wipe ourselves out in 50 years.

@  Benbot : (22 January 2020 - 04:27 PM)

There will be no UBI, people will just live in a ditch while they celebrate owning the libs.

@  Rycochet : (22 January 2020 - 03:24 PM)

In 50 years, retail will be dead because all stores are staffless fully automated operations controlled by Amazon. The UBI will be less than a fifth of what it actually costs to live after two decades of cuts and.a steadfast refusal to match inflation.

@  Maximus Ambus : (22 January 2020 - 02:55 PM)

In fifty years retail will be a thing of the past through robots, printers and Universal Basic Income.

@  Rodimus Supreme : (21 January 2020 - 11:16 AM)

Big retailers just don't want money anymore, so let's not give them any,

@  TheMightyMol... : (20 January 2020 - 04:12 PM)

This place is a madhouse, feels like being cloned.

@  Maximus Ambus : (20 January 2020 - 03:38 PM)

I took one step beyond the outer limits to the twilight zone.

@  TheMightyMol... : (20 January 2020 - 10:19 AM)

All retail is basically the same.

@  Tm_Silverclaw : (20 January 2020 - 10:00 AM)

Walmart just needs to go bankrupt already.

@  ThunderWear : (20 January 2020 - 07:19 AM)

They didn't put the 35th anniversary stuff back out until after new year. I'm no retail expert, but I feel like having stock on the shelf is better than the back. Especially toys at christmas time.

@  ThunderWear : (20 January 2020 - 07:18 AM)

Yeah, my local walmart took away the 35th anniversary endcap weeks before Christmas and left the Transformer section empty well past Christmas.

@  TheMightyMol... : (20 January 2020 - 04:44 AM)

Mine only has the 35th Anniversary Voyagers. A whole lot of them.

@  Telly : (19 January 2020 - 11:35 PM)

just be happy your walmart even stocks voyagers. mine doesnt

@  Steevy Maximus : (19 January 2020 - 08:53 PM)

Figures that Walmart finally restocks Studio Voyagers...with Wave ONE

@  ThunderWear : (19 January 2020 - 09:27 AM)

I snagged Rainmakers for half off.  They make me want jolly ranchers.

@  Trpodeca : (18 January 2020 - 04:21 PM)

I was using my account on another comptuer, and oddly it seemed to default to $US rather than converting it.

@  TM2-Megatron : (18 January 2020 - 02:02 PM)

You should be able to set eBay to display in your local currency, although personally I like to know the actual currency the item is listed in so I know if I need to account for forex fees or not

@  Trpodeca : (18 January 2020 - 06:34 AM)

I'd also like to take the opportunity to say I despise Ebay for showing the list prices in US money.

@  Trpodeca : (18 January 2020 - 06:23 AM)

Well there is an overpriced limited edition, but I don't want to pay that much money for it.

@  Trpodeca : (18 January 2020 - 06:21 AM)

Well great. The one Usagi Yojimbo volume I don't have and it's out of stock.

@  Rycochet : (17 January 2020 - 06:15 PM)

I both love and hate that the Alien franchise seems to have had more luck finding a niche as a line of children's toys than it has at producing worthwhile films.

@  Donocropolis : (17 January 2020 - 06:35 AM)

I've seen them on the shelves at Walmart. They're pretty great looking retro Aliens toys. https://www.walmart....-Vary/934039489

I was going to make a comment about how I don't really consider the fascists running around, disappearing people and waging a guerrilla war against the empire, to be people... but that would really make me no better than some of the nords in skyrim.

The Thalmor ARE people. Horrible, awful people who deserve to die, or a really good beating, but still people.

Edit: hey, can someone who's got a reasonably well leveled character do me a favour? Every once in a while when walking the roads of skyrim, you come across a thalmor patrol with prisoner in chains. What happens if you kill the thalmor? I never did it, or even thought about it, but then I realized that I always throw myself at the super mutants in Fo4 who have a prisoner, so... why does FEV make the difference?

Nothing actually.  You kill the Thalmor(my preference was Fus-Roh-Dohing them down the road) free the prisoner, and move on with your life.

The Thalmor ARE people. Horrible, awful people who deserve to die, or a really good beating, but still people.

The thing with the Thalmor is that 90% of their ascribed motivations are hearsay extrapolations of fan fiction writing. Fan fiction written by the guy who wrote Morrowind and the Dragonborn expansion, but still technically fan fiction.

What we actually know about them is what's shown in the game - Inquisitors enforcing the mandates of a peace treaty that the signor refuses to enforce themselves. As you learn in the game itself, people in Skyrim were worshiping Talos with regularity (And Whiterun has the big ol' statue and preacher right at the foot of Dragonsreach) post-White Gold Concordant without issue until Ulfric went public with his rebellion and made Talos worship into one of the principle grievances, which made the Dominion look closer at what was going on in the Empire.

So once again, Ulfric Stormcloak Ruins Everything.

And yeah, I know about "A Rising Threat". I also known the books themselves were dated during the Great War, thus pro-imperial propaganda pieces. One of the reasons I love The Elder Scrolls. Ever since Morrowind, you never get the actual truth of things you yourself aren't privy to. You just get various points of view.

The same thing that happens if you free an Imperial/Stormcloak prisoner...you get a bounty in whatever hold you are in because the prisoner is considered a Witness to murder. The difference with the Thalmor event is you can bypass the bounty by talking with the Justicar and provoking him into attacking you.

Alright, so you could do the same thing to the imperial patrols with their prisoner as well. I never touched them as I generally wasn't interested in the repercussions (namely, DYING.) and by the time I could make good at actually killing them all: I was fast traveling everywhere, and so I never saw them.

I have never received a bounty for freeing a prisoner from Imperials.  But I have for sniping those stuck-up nobles you come across, the ones heading to the wedding and the fat one on the horse (teach them to call me a peasant).

As for Thalmor... I usually save first and aggravate them by asking 'what's wrong with worshiping talos'.

No, don't kill the nobles going to the wedding, especially not if you're doing the Dark Brotherhood. After the wedding mission, you'll run into them again.

Full disclosure: No. Their fortunes take a turn for the worse, post-Wedding. Seems in the chaos, their own bodyguard robs them blind and leaves them to get back out of Skyrim on foot with little more than rags on their backs.

So the latest Bethesda developer sit down (as part of the Elder Scrolls' 25th Anniversary) pretty much confirms that the title card for Elder Scrolls VI revealed at last year's E3 is literally the only substantial work that has gone into the title presently. Todd Howard's exact quote is in the video and the way he stresses "A long ways off" suggests to me that he's been sitting on TESVI far longer than he probably should have given fan rumbling on the subject and he knows it.

There's also the team's hedging on remasters which I agree with Gopher. They really did sound like they were keeping that option on the table (likely due to how far off TESVI is).

Honestly, I wish they'd just crank out another official DLC for Skyrim at this point.

They might as well, since their mandate seems to involve monetizing their properties to the utmost. More fallout 4 dlc, more skyrim DLC. And not just hugging horse armor.

You see, ordinarily I would say "hug no, this game is 8 hugging years old why on earth would you even think about more DLC for such an old game."

But in this case...when you consider they're still making more ports (PS4, VR, Switch...have they gone mobile?)...and that they confirmed that any sequel is a long way off...yeah, I'm kinda thinking some kind of DLC may not be out of order at this point.

Their mobile game "Blades" is presently in closed Beta, invite only. But from what I've seen of it, it'll flop in short order. It's a Mobile equivalent of the Fallout 76 gameplay model sans a step.

In Fallout 76 (and Fallout 4 for that matter) the gameplay model is Exploration - Loot - Crafting, repeat. You explore areas to get access to scrap so you can craft better weapon mods/better settlements. In Blades, you take on the role of a Blades agent (*audible groaning*) looking to build up a town stronghold from which you defend yourself from NPC enemies and (if I recall correctly) other players. To do this, you delve into what really look like the ruins from Oblivion for materials by which to upgrade your gear/town as well as quests from townsfolk to improve your reputation with said town and improve it that way.

The problem is it's now Loot - Craft, repeat since there is no exploration aspect. You take on quests, spawn into the ruin/cave/whatever fight baddies in first person with combat that looks as engaging as Daggerfall's was, then return to the town to click boxes and upgrade stuff. Rinse, repeat...there's probably a paywall in there somewhere to reduce the cooldown timer on dungeons or something.

It'll do far better than it has any right to do by virtue of being *new* Elder Scrolls content after eight years, but all I've seen thus far makes it feel more like Fallout Shelter than Elder Scrolls, and I don't really see it having much staying power once what content the game provides has been exhausted. Like I said, reminds me forcibly of Oblivion level design and if there's one thing everyone loved about Oblivion it was the level design of the ruins/dungeons/caverns! </Sarcasm>

New Skyrim DLC, on the other hand, would go a long way in the drought that is seeming to come of TES content. Doesn't even have to be big stuff either. Like Vault 88 size would be fine. A few new dungeons, enemies, and assets.

You see, ordinarily I would say "hug no, this game is 8 hugging years old why on earth would you even think about more DLC for such an old game."

I'm on PS4 and Switch. PS4's mods are rather slim in what they can do and Switch just doesn't even do mods. So I gotta ask, just how much can you mod Skyrim before it simply stops being Skyrim?

It honestly depends on what you add. You can throw on lots of god tier weapons and armor, or science fiction stuff, or even just completely bent stuff like the randy savage dragon mod. But there's also lots of content which is just... more. More options, more variety, more world space. There's an amazing amount of content which is still in the vein of skyrim and elder scrolls in general, and it's just a matter of of whether you want to use that stuff or not. Like, there's probably enough individual mods for it: you could more than likely convert all the base game armor into the base game armor from morrowind. Or add it all in there as a supplemental option to the normal stuff.

Yes: you could very quickly kit the game out so that you're master chief in tamriel. Or you can make the world more vibrant, more full, more alive. To each their own, you know?

Short answer: A lot.

I run 256 active mods.

Spoiler

It's hard for me to remember where the base game ends and the mods begin at this point.
