Yeah, I really liked the look of the game, and even some of the "revelations" on how much more limited scope of the game doesn't bother me. But, it doesn't feel like a $60 game, and I can't help but think Sony's promotion of the title and the secrecy didn't end up bolstering hopes to the point the small crew at Hello Games could never hope to provide the game they hyped.
Looks a LOT like a Subnautica with space, which looks fun, but again, not $60 worth of fun and I get the feeling a LOT will be disappointed.

A lot of people were expecting more from this game then it was ever going to be. It's not bad, just be aware of what you're paying money for.
I've seen people comment that it might be the new Spore in that respect. Over-hype can kill decent projects.

I encountered my first sentient mechanical being, it offered to show me how to find and traverse black holes to get myself closer to the center of the galaxy.
Holy crap.

Frankly I am APPALLED by this game! How dare it call itself No Man's Sky, when there is in fact a huge chunk of male character models all roaming that very sky RIGHT THIS INSTANT!
How can you call it No Man's Sky when men are flying in the sky!
I demand all the character models be changed to female to fix this horrible oversight!
It's a secret to everybody

i've spent a few hours now in the sky.
I enjoy this game. It's relaxing in a strange way. I'm rarely attacked, I can wander strange vistas and see amazing sights and put my own creative stamp on things through naming them. If you all ever see a half barren chunk of stone named Rockfjord, that was my origin planet. I've since visited it's moon, which I've named Toxic Ito for it's massive atmospheric poisons.
I am having some trouble though. I have a constant "disconnected from online server" error at the bottom of my screen and I've had 3 hard crashes. I've not really lost any progress, but it is annoying to deal with. Anyone else having a problem?

Just want clarification - why are people invoking Spore like it's hexed?
Spore was a fun game, I had long thought that was a belief shared by many. It wasn't the all-encompassing greatest thing ever, and if it was we'd have no need for other games. But it scratched a creative itch. The truth is never in the hype, why would anyone ever be swayed by the hype?
And no, no connectivity issues here, Rhinox.

Some blowhard went full Peter Molyneux and you believed it, but you've never played it?
Well that encapsulates the current complaints about this game and that one beautifully, thank you!
So, I'm still learning languages as I go, and one species is entirely new to me. My data on them indicates they are very hostile, and I'm in an enclosure with one of them. He motions to my multi-tool, seeming desperate. I can't understand him yet, and I'm thinking he's shaking me down, wants to rob me. But you know, spirit of adventure and all that. I give it to him somewhat reluctantly, he happily hands back to me an improved version of it! So take a chance and do something nice. The sheer size of the galaxy is daunting, and small little deeds and interactions like that shrink it down fast.
Also, is anyone else letting others name their planets filthy things, or is it just me?
