In my Marvel comic canon the second wave of special teams were handpicked active robots whose experience would theoretically make more stable combiners, the Combaticons came from Cybertron, the Protectobots were imprinted from crystals explaining both Onslauhghts ancestry and First Aid's experience.

@  Cyoti : (18 June 2021 - 03:32 PM)

Even with B5, it didn't follow its original 5-year plan. Summaries from the supplementary materials for the scriptbooks demonstrates that was originally planned was very different from the actual product. Sinclair's actor's departure seemingly changed the show to the point that the stuff with the Vorlons/Shadows, the Minbari and the ending were all changed. Mapping out a show years in advance is difficult because of changing bts stuff like writers/actors leaving the show or suddenly having to retool because of ratings/execs. No plan survives intact especially in a chaotic environment of television production.

@  Rycochet : (18 June 2021 - 11:27 AM)

To be like Babylon 5, you need to cram a 2 season story arc into one because you fear being cancelled, then get further seasons you have no more material for. You also need a spinoff which the network heads don't want and do everything in their power to kill it while it's on air.

@  wonko the sane? : (18 June 2021 - 10:33 AM)

The required effort is probably why we don't have babylon 6; TNG.

@  Dekafox : (18 June 2021 - 10:23 AM)

Everyone wants to be like Babylon 5 but no one wants to put in the effort

@  Nevermore : (18 June 2021 - 09:36 AM)

And then, after five years of hosting their own official podcast where they would answer fan questions and always encouraged their audience to pay attention to the mysteries, after the show had ended, they claimed the show was never really about the mysteries, it was all about the characters.

@  Nevermore : (18 June 2021 - 09:34 AM)

What really bugs me with "Lost" is that the producers had willfully negotiated a set end date with the network halfway through season 3 (the show ended with season 6, as planned) specifically so they could plan out the plot for the remainder of the show. Then... the plot wasn't resolved properly.

@  tigerhawk : (18 June 2021 - 04:17 AM)

By then I had lost interest in arc TV shows, I followed a few and got the impression they were just making them up as they went along. Seemed to be a trend starting with new Galactica and Lost though in actuality began with The X Files and has become a trope called 'The Chris Carter Effect'.

@  Nevermore : (18 June 2021 - 02:12 AM)

I think it was season 3 part 1 specifically, since they had two separate plot "arcs" for season 3.

@  Nevermore : (18 June 2021 - 02:11 AM)

They threw everything in there, with no clear story structure, no clear stakes, and characters flip-flopping wherever the episode's writer needed them to go for their half-baked plot.

@  Nevermore : (18 June 2021 - 02:10 AM)

Season 3 was the worst, with a terrible meandering random events plot.

@  tigerhawk : (17 June 2021 - 11:59 PM)

'save the cheerleader' then in season 3 he tears her skull open, scans her power and she simply heals. They didn't think any of it through.

@  Shockwave 75 : (17 June 2021 - 07:04 PM)

Well, you know Hollywood; if something's popular, run it into the ground!

@  Cybersnark : (17 June 2021 - 04:40 PM)

And then there was the Writers' Strike, which isn't the show's fault.

@  Cybersnark : (17 June 2021 - 04:40 PM)

Yeah, Sylar should've been, if not killed off, at least left to rest.

@  Nevermore : (17 June 2021 - 03:43 PM)

I sent the custom Combiner Wars Chase I had been working on to Shawn and asked him to paint the new chest piece and his head for me. He told me he was going to give him a touch up and he did...and what touch up! Not only did he correct the sloppy paint work I attempted on the figure, he completely remastered it. He turned my CW Chase into this beauty. I'm convinced that I now have to send him my Boulder to get the same touch up treatment. :)

I generally can't tell the CW car molds apart, yet I'm absolutely certain that's my favorite use of that one! = O

Of course there's a figure of Rodimus as some kind of animal girl. Why would I be surprised by this?

So I had a spare Skullsmasher body laying around in wait for e-Hobby's Megalligator. Cue in Shawn "The Magic Man" Tessmann and Megalligator had his very own transtector to command.

The darker green and the grey are just the plastic colors. The lighter green in Testor's Mosel Master Acryl Interior Green 4736.

Still, this is amazing stuff. Legitimately looks factory-finish quality.

I swapped some parts around to turn my CW Dragstrip into PCC Spastic/Over-Run. Made a version of CW Riotgear using some Renderform parts. They are pictured with my Sports Car Patrol: Blackjack, Road Hugger, and Detour. Oh, and while not pictured, I've repurposed CW G2 Dead End as Deadheat (from that TF Prime: Universe game).

From a composition standpoint, I think posing the first set together winds up muting their changes and makes them not seem that different from the base G2 set. That said, they aren't bad. I think on a conceptual level, Deadheat is a particularly inspired choice since I feel TF Universe and that canceled MMO TF Online are decent fodder for custom characters.

As far as the sword, PM me.

Thanks Zamuel for the feedback. I completely agree with you regarding the composition. At a glance, it doesn't look like any changes where done to them. I did shoot individual pictures of the three and was going to post them by themselves, but for whatever reason I just posted the group shot with the Sports Patrol Team instead.

Since the CW G2 Stunticons were repurposed, I couldn't leave my CW G2 Aerialbots behind. Without further ado here's the first bot:

Sonic Ronin

Sonic Ronin is from the defunct Transformers Online game. I know he was a car in the game, but there's plenty of Transformers who have changed their alt modes before. :)

Reading the Troop Building thread reminded me that I never posted pictures of these little beauties:

The heads were painted my Shawn. These were painted by Shawn way back around the same time he made my Heatrock custom. I have a total of four of these guys, will probably buy more CW Prowl figures so I can make some more Autotroopers. :)

Wanted to post some pictures of my Autobot SWAT Team members. I ton of these guys are simple customs mostly made by headswaps, stickers, and/or good old fashioned repurposing.

First up is the team's tactician who, fittingly, transforms into a mobile command center:

Bulletproof

34950828081_9033e24945_b.jpg

Next up is the team's weapons expert and the ship's pilot:

Hollow Point

34919046521_5fa5c2494c_b.jpg

The team's loose cannon (and a bit suicidal) and his level-headed (and all around team player) Micron partner. Think Riggs and Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon:

And let's not forget the duo that started it all: Prowler (Energon Prowl) and Checkpoint.

Here are some more pictures of my CW Energon Prowl, whose head was also painted by the awesome talent that is Shawn Tessmann. The Energon Prowl head was designed by SteamShield after I put in a request to have one made to go with the CW Mirage mold for this custom. You can get your own here at his Shapeways store.

Thanks Foffy and Copper Bezel! As a big fan of Transformers Animated, I really wanted to make some Autotroopers and figured the CW Prowl mode would work well for it. Once I found the head on Shapeways, the rest was history. :)

As for Energon Prowl, the UT is what got me into collecting TFs and it will always have a special place in my heart. CW Mirage was no use to me as Mirage since I already have his superior Classics version. So I put in a request on Shapeways for an Energon Prowl head and this beauty was born.
