Oh, you are ABSOLUTELY right. Allspark is well-known as the oversensitive jump-down-your-throat forum. It's a limited number of people here, and it's not necessarily the intended atmosphere, but a LOT of people stay away because of that reputation. I have heard it in numerous facebook groups (yes, I know), from a number of friends, and from multiple people met at toy shows and toy stores. The subject of "where do you hang out or get your info online?" usually comes up and I always have to respond with a defense that isn't exactly ironclad. What I believe is that there's a valid reason that outside its own walls this forum has a reputation for being sanctimonious and oversensitive. That is a staggering level of hyperbole. I know you're just making a snarky point, but FFS.
But sure. Criticise how media handles things and none of that counts apparently. Fictional characters steered by multinational companies out to sell lots of merch mean more than real people...
Do you honestly believe that anyone here is ignorant of the fact that movies are made to make money? That merchandising is a vital part of franchises of this type?
Most of us are transformers fans, and the ones who don't understand these basic facts should probably have their cards revoked. They're are also few and far between around these parts.
Ugh. Just hugging UGH.
I like it here or I wouldn't come, but yeah, that rep is real among a lot of folks.
And again, for the record, I am just verifying that the reputation exists. I am not giving my opinion on the reasons for the reputation nor am I supporting the people who stay away because of it.
(And the fact that I have to type that last paragraph so certain people don't start debating me kinda backs everything before it...)
