He described the peoples he encountered as some of the most friendly and giving in the world, so naturally, he ate all their food, enslaved them and put them to work looking for gold that did not exist, until they as a people did not exist.

In the year 1492, Columbus gave us the day off skoo

@  Noideaforaname : (14 October 2019 - 08:59 AM)

How often do people actually celebrate Columbus or the Pilgrims? Usually it just feels like celebrating the first break in the school year and a nice dinner with the family.

@  wonko the sane? : (14 October 2019 - 08:29 AM)

You've got like two more weeks until the american thanksgiving. Canadian thanksgiving is literally a harvest festival.

@  wonko the sane? : (04 October 2019 - 09:30 AM)

Eh, I'm happy with multiple 1080's personally.

@  Benbot : (03 October 2019 - 07:21 PM)

Everyone needs a 1440 monitor. Just set up my new battle station and I never knew how much I was missing!

@  TheMightyMol... : (03 October 2019 - 06:59 PM)

Each part of a combiner is a complete toy in itself, so no, not really.

@  PlutoniumBoss : (03 October 2019 - 06:47 PM)

Aren't combiners technically BAFs?

@  Rycochet : (03 October 2019 - 02:16 PM)

The Anniversary Beast Wars figures had BAF parts over a decade ago, the minicons of RiD2 had BAF stuff too, heck, the Takara PVC line had Build A Figures back in the early 2000s.

@  Paladin : (03 October 2019 - 01:35 PM)

can't believe Build A Figures finally came to Transformers...

@  RichardT1977 : (03 October 2019 - 11:26 AM)

Originally Galoob made Micro Machines, but Hasbro bought Galoob.

@  Steevy Maximus : (03 October 2019 - 09:49 AM)

Hasbro owns the IP, but licensed it out to WCT. Hasbro owns Tonka, but hasn't actually made a legit Tonka product in years. Basic Fun (IIRC) is taking that over next year from the existing licensee

I hate the heels.  I dislike when any super heroine has any kind of significant lift to their footwear.  Marvel films are guilty of this pretty frequently, but not to the extent that this image is.  Also that outfit is painted on.

That'd be hell to wear, I imagine.

Seriously, though, the scarf-and-domino mask look is great. I'd love to see some sort of combination of that and her current outfit.

Pretty sure this is concept art and not the actual costume.

You could pretty much exactly do the current version of her comic uniform and it wouldn't look out of place in MCU:

3047641-inline-s-3-first-look-at-the-new

(Although I'd advocate going back to the actual sash rather than the can't-decide-if-it's-a-sash-or-a-utility-belt deal.)

I continue to maintain that the chances of her having any of the old Ms. Marvel uniforms in the film are non-existent. She'll have a version of the red and navy Captain Marvel costume without a doubt.

The biggest question for me is going to be: "Where does the suit come from?" Is it something that she fashions, or is it somehow imbued upon her? If it's the latter, then it needs to look more alien, closer to something we'd see in Guardians than Avengers. Then again, a lot of Gunn's Gardians designs - specifically thinking of the Nova Corps - don't look very alien, so I don't know how you can show that.

Yep.

If you asked me to take a guess, I'd put my money on her modifying her costume from some kind of high-tech/experimental Air Force flight suit. I'm expecting it to be in a similar vein to Cap's current uniform.

Speaking of which, what are we thinking for the plot?

I'd quite like to have it not be an origins movie (she was originally intended to show up in Age of Ultron, remember), and have her already exist as a superhero. Take cues from the current CM run and have her be an agent of S.W.O.R.D., which might also be the only way they could get Monica Rambeau into the movie without rewriting her entire backstory to tie into Carol's.

Hell, throw in Jessica Drew and Abigail Brand, and that's a decent supporting cast.

Can we all just appreciate how fantastic it is that the most powerful hero in the MCU is going to be a woman? It's honestly one of the best choices Marvel's made, and they've made a hell of a lot of good choices with the MCU.
