That might actually be a fake noise they make electric cars make so pedestrians can hear them. Some cars even let you pick out what noise they make.

@  wonko the sane? : (13 May 2021 - 11:20 AM)

Actually heard a car with that electric, scifi-hum to it. Made me realize that we kinda are living in the future...

The 1988 G1 line up could all have been done as Titan Master things, I figure the Pretenders could be done as Titan Master Drones and Prime Master shells.

@  Cyoti : (08 May 2021 - 11:14 AM)

Perfect is the enemy of the good. And it's still better than making him a remold of RTS Jazz as planned originally. Fact of the matter is: Nightbeat is just not a priority with Hasbro.

@  Demovere Xeno : (08 May 2021 - 08:58 AM)

Generations Nightbeat never really scratched that itch sadly; he looked okay, but his transformation was fiddly, his robot mode had far too many bits and pieces flopping around unsecured, and his chest dragged along the surface in var mode. =/

@  Demovere Xeno : (08 May 2021 - 08:57 AM)

I second wishing that we got a Deluxe Nightbeat from TR, mostly because as a kid he was second-in-command to my old Powermaster Optimus for the longest time. =P

@  tigerhawk : (08 May 2021 - 05:41 AM)

Wipe Out and Wilder it coulda been: Wipe Out is down in the dumps because the Scramble City Trypticon was destroyed and left him a drifting to the point he arrives in Legends World, he finds Wilder and both go on a crime spree subverted by their realisation neither gets any joy from it until they stop a violent crook together and become anti heroes. (Bass XO beat me!)

@  Bass X0 : (08 May 2021 - 05:39 AM)

Yes, Nightbeat and Siren would have been easy remolds of Chromedome - just give them new chests and each other's Titan Master heads. Fangry and Squeezeplay would be remolded from Twinferno with their own Titan Master heads. And Horri-Bull would have been remolded from Wolfwire.

@  Rycochet : (07 May 2021 - 05:10 PM)

Surprised we didn't get a full size retool from the monsterbot mold. I'd rather have a CW Ironhide retool though, we need a van Wilder.

@  tigerhawk : (07 May 2021 - 04:19 PM)

I just noticed Wilder was the only omission from Takara Legends.

@  Nevermore : (07 May 2021 - 06:01 AM)

Even more weirdly, it was the early shift where some people had their regular day off for the week, while the late shift was supposed to have full attendance (not counting sick days, vacations and overtime reduction).

@  Nevermore : (07 May 2021 - 01:15 AM)

The weirdest part was that there was a steady influx of voters during the early shift, while hardly anyone showed up during the late shift.

@  Nevermore : (07 May 2021 - 01:14 AM)

Wow, that was a long day. But it's over, and I finally got some sleep. Not particularly happy with the outcome, but then again, my candidates both admit they didn't really campaign that much.

It's a fairly well known fact that "it's a wonderful life" only became popular after it dropped into the public domain. So, yeah, they probably did.

@  SHIELD Agent 47 : (02 May 2021 - 08:29 PM)

I read an interesting observation on Twitter. If it is the natural course of a human to grow into Grandpa Abe yelling at a cloud, but nostalgia also yields rose-tinted glasses for the likes of one's youth, then did Greatest Generation adults bemoan how Baby Boomer children loved box office flops such as The Wizard of Oz and It's a Wonderful Life?

@  Otaku : (02 May 2021 - 09:26 AM)

At the same time, with my almost non-existent knowledge of Japanese and how oddly some things translate, seeing "Gorgeous Giorgios Gorges" made me wonder if that would make it "JoJoJo"... which now has my brain terrified of a weird Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo/Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Crossover. @[email protected]

@  Otaku : (02 May 2021 - 09:24 AM)

It is always weird when things align.  This talk of Gorgeous Giorgios Gorges in the SquawkBox reminded me of King Gorgeous Gorge on the FoxBox.

@  -LittleAutob... : (01 May 2021 - 08:52 PM)

Nice

@  Nevermore : (01 May 2021 - 09:03 AM)

I got one even better: After that character by the name of Gorgeous Giorgios dies in a gorge, they name that whole area after him: The Gorgeous Giorgios Gorges.

@  tigerhawk : (30 April 2021 - 01:56 AM)

Paint apps did slide notably during TR, wave one's Titan Masters had detail but wave 2 onwards was absent of them. Wave 5's Ramhorn, Dreadnaut, Scorchfire and Aimless had detail but Murk and Hazard didn't, can't speak for Flameout as I got Legends Twintwist and Slugslinger.

@  kizudarake : (29 April 2021 - 04:50 PM)

Anyone here got any g1 jet fire parts for sale?

@  wonko the sane? : (29 April 2021 - 04:12 PM)

Other than a few overly tight joints, the paints apps are my single complaint about the generations line.

@  tigerhawk : (29 April 2021 - 02:25 PM)

I just saw Legends Leo Prime now I wish Titans Return Alpha Trion had a few more paint apps for ship mode.

Obviously, that officer didn't follow proper protocol.

You don't use pepper spray. You use your taser.

By which I mean, you intend to use your taser, but instead reach for your gun. And then shoot the suspect to death.

Ok, this is something that needs to be noted. The warrant was for failing to show for a trial about owning a gun illegally and running from the police previously.
It even says so in the article, of course at the very bottom where no one is likely to pay attention.

This will probably be the beginning of a dog pile, but there are proper punishments for those crimes and legal ways of detaining someone, none of which involve pulling a gun instead of a taser.

And the entire point of the police is to bring people in alive to face justice. Everybody hugged up here but only one side keeps getting the option to change and choosing not to.

No but there is a difference between "accidentally grabbing and discharging the wrong weapon because of perceived threat due to prior criminal history" manslaughter and racially charged homicide.

A call for manslaughter charges is not letting a cop off lightly either. They'd still be fired and charged a crime of killing a person. But it's a hell of a lot easier to prove and convict than first degree murder.
-edit-
That's all Im pointing out, this would fall under voluntary manslaughter.

I watched the raw video so you don't have to.

First of all, There is just no evidence of a perceived threat due to prior criminal history. Officer Dumbass appears to be the only one who drew a weapon at all. The others seem to have thought they could handle the guy. Oh and one of them can be heard saying "You have a warrant" so they knew. If it didn't scare them, it is irrelevant. Don't let them retcon this, and don't retcon it on this cop's behalf.

Secondly, this wasn't quick-draw blam. Officer Dumbass had a disturbingly long time to figure out which weapon she'd grabbed. Even if she cannot remember left and right and has been blowing off ever training with her weapons in her entire career, she should have been able to avoid this mistake.

There is not a single excuse. This cop should be prosecuted.

One more thing from the video. We get a view of both sides of one officer's belt. On the right there is a holstered weapon of some kind. It has a pistol grip but otherwise I can't get a good look at what it is, and I definitely do not know weapons well enough to identify it just from the shape of the grip, even if the video weren't shitty quality. On the left side there is another holstered weapon of some kind with a pistol grip. I can't really get a good look at this one either but thanks to that grip sticking out I can see that the weapon is bright yellow.

I'm not an expert. But if you gave me a split second the several seconds this piece of shit had to make a decision, I would guess that the taser is the bright yellow one.

Thoughts from a Facebook Friend:

(slightly edited for language, and with a translation of abbreviations)

I have a ton of thinks on the event of this past weekend.

A prevailing thought among them, "If this were indeed an ND (Negligent Discharge), and accidental, and if the BC (Body Cam) footage bears that out.... Why wait 72 hours to say so, and only after immense public pushback against that silent blue wall? And why instantly militarize and mobilize an escalation of projection of force?"

Also, if it were a civilian that ND'ed and resulted in a death, with video footage evidence, its an open and shut case. Yet, we all KNOW what's not going to happen here.

She hugged up, either intentionally, or not, and somebody died. her uniform should not protect her from the basic consequences of either lack of training (which I doubt, given her supposed seniority), or incompetence.

And I'm going to cut you off if you're going to come in here with apologist boloney and try to justify the events with any variety of "He was resisting" or "He had a warrant", or any other nonsense.
Because that only illustrates your bias, and willingness to completely forgo any pretense that you understand or are willing to acknowledge how your justice system works.

Resisting arrest (even in Minnesota) is a misdemeanor, as is fleeing or evading arrest. Neither of which carries a capital punishment penalty. (I assume the warrant, if existent was a bench warrant, given how it hasnt been pursued so it comes up during a traffic stop) would also likely not carry a potential capital punishment penalty.

And that is all of utter and complete inconsequence in the very fact that under the law (that you love so dearly), the victim is INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW.

This is about the Lt. that was pulled over and the officer fired. When seeing the footage the news released it was pretty cut and dried - but I saw this video posted on Twitter and I think it brings up a lot of points and I'd like you to watch it in its entirety.

I've never seen this youtuber before and posting his video doesn't mean I automatically endorse his opinions - but I feel like he brings up a lot of good points.

I watched the same damn video. The warrant would popped up in their system. The warrant was either for owning a gun illegally and/or waiving a gun in the air wildly then fleeing for police.
Either of which considering how much this guy was thrashing officer dumbass might have paniced and committed manslaughter.
I have not been saying not to prosecute, but manslaughter is an more accurate term unless someone found a criminal master plan to hunt down and murder this one specific individual.

manslaughter

Weird way of spelling Murder in the First Degree.

Oh? has someone found evidence the officer personally knew the victim and planned to shoot him at this particular stop like some lampoonish cartoon plot?
First Degree Murder is specifically when someone lays in wait or plans to murder someone.
That's why roughly only half of First Degree Murder arrests actually get charged as that crime after court. Its a very -specific- crime.
Again, Im not saying she was not in the wrong, Im saying she should be convicted. But words mean things and so do criminal charges. They have specific definitions for a reason.
There's a reason people who commit first degree murder get death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole.

FB friend:

Some cops are just itching to push people around. I once got stopped for speeding, but the cop turned on his lights when I was in the middle of an on-ramp on a winter day when the shoulder was completely covered in snow and ice. I slowed down, put on my 4-way flashers, and pulled over as soon as I got to a wider section of highway where I could stop without blocking the entire road.

He got out of the car and yelled at me that I should have stopped immediately, and that what I did was tantamount to "evading arrest". I knew he was full of shit, but I also knew that he could just make up some bullshit story if he really wanted to be an asshole about it, so I politely apologized despite having done absolutely nothing wrong.

For generations, cops have become accustomed to believing that they exist above the law. The only difference is that this behaviour is now being caught on video.

Well, there's Johannes Mehserle, Robert Bates, Marcy Noriega to name a few officers who performed the same crime, were found guilty of Manslaughter, and fired.
It's a rare occurance in police work, the statistics show roughly around once a year it happens.

Also, a news article that mentions how someone can mix up both weapons, and oh lookie, her fellow officer has their weapon holstered in the same way that can cause the hug up.
https://www.nytimes....-taser-gun.html
So this is a departmental failure in training.
