Announcement Regarding Threads Getting too P&Ry

Believe me, I understand the acidity of the P&R section of the boards. That's why I never go there. But if that's really what you want to talk about, isn't the acidity part of what you're signing up for?

I'm not even sure why this is even an issue that's being brought up. Maybe it's because I keep myself in like a few threads but I haven't noticed the stench of PnR round here.
Ironbite-just the normal stench of death and decay coming from TMM's house. Seriously FUMIGATE YOUR CORPSES!

I've been to a few planets with the same gimmick. You know, sometimes it's called the cleansing or the red time. There was this one world that just called it murder night. It's a purge planet. They're peaceful, and then, you know, they just purge.

Not to mention there's already a whole section of the boards dedicated to P&R.
Believe me, I understand the acidity of the P&R section of the boards. That's why I never go there. But if that's really what you want to talk about, isn't the acidity part of what you're signing up for?
Believe it or not, some people actually can discuss serious topics and remain adults about it. But if that's too much to expect from posters here, the rule is fine.
Shouldn't gravity be doing something?
Of course there's a figure of Rodimus as some kind of animal girl. Why would I be surprised by this?

Based on the decade+ of experience at the Allspark and years upon years of internet experience on top of that...no. I don't believe that for one hugging fraction of a second.

if the two items themselves weren't inherently childish it might be easier for some people to be adult about it.
but every argument I was ever involved with in there came down to
"but I don't like that so I don't like you and if you keep saying I'm not right I'm calling a mod to yell at you"
because apparently people have the strange idea that them holding an opinion is sacrosanct, and you having one that differs -even slightly, is an affront to their oh so very precious self esteem. And hurt feelings are tantamount to physical assault... because my gosh if something was hurt it had to have been hit after all... it couldn't just be a psychosomatic reaction to the realization that you aren't the center of everyone else's universe.

This is why we have a P&R forum, and why it's a protected forum at that. Some people can, and some people can't. The problem is that, unless we force Fnu to never sleep again, there's no real way to keep the "can't" group out of it. Aside from, y'know, sending the "can" people to P&R, where the "can't" group would just get blocked anyway.
If we allow P&R in here, anyone who gets banned from the P&R forum could come knocking at our doors.

There's no polite way to say it, but based on my experience with your experience of those discussions on AS, you are not one of those people and don't really have standing to judge.

Sometimes it's the only valid response. If you have difficulty with being told "no", that just goes back to the "making an effort to actually behave like an adult" thing.Yes, and I've seen some of your posts too. And whole posts consisting of nothing but 'no' does not form an argument.
I honestly don't know what this is in reference to. Generally speaking, I'd suggest not assuming that your priorities in a conversation are the same as everyone else's.And going on tirades about something that was not even the focus of the conversation doesn't give you a lot of standing either.
Again, I don't expect to have conversations on serious topics here; I wouldn't really want to. But this
is a bullshit attitude, and needed to be called out.But if that's really what you want to talk about, isn't the acidity part of what you're signing up for?

Like, I don't necessarily disagree sometimes, but it still seems uncalled for. I don't really blame Caldwin for bristling at that. It's good to discuss stuff like that among friends, but taking pot shots kinda takes away from it. Like, 'christians are dumb sheeple' isn't a useful point of conversation, you know?
Of course, maybe that's not it since I'm trying to assume the best intentions here since I was a downer on it initially.

Politics and religion specifically are certainly topics that have come up in my thread, but those discussions have always stayed very clean.
